Nono's Cafe needs to be wiped off the map.
The wait staff was rude and acted put out that we were waiting to be seated. My husband unfolded his napkin and silverware to find a big black hair wrapped around his fork. They messed up our order and charged us full price. And to even more enhance our wonderful dining experience, My husband and two small children were sat next to a group of degenerates that had nasty foul language for the 45 min. we were there. The absolute WORST restaurant I have ever been to! I spoke to the owner and several of the other servers and received a simple "we're so sorry." If they really cared about keeping their customers they would have compensated the situation. If I could grade them negative 5 stars on here I would.

This is a good place for a meal. There is a lot to choose from on the menu and the servers are very informative when making a choice. The mac and cheese is yummy, as are each of the menu items that I tried. The decor is very homey feeling and the staff is very welcoming.

Worst experience in a long time!!! The food was fine a little heavy on the blackening spices and the service lead something to be desired (I had to ask for a second beer 3 times before the waitress remembered to bring it and she kept walking away without asking if we needed anything like water or silverware.

The big problem came with the bill when the owner added a 2 dollar cover for each of us for the band. We asked to speak with him and he was very condesending saying I could make a decision ?Honey? that it was only 2 dollars. That was the point. We just spent over $200 dollars on dinner. A dinner that we could have gotten at any number of restaurants in Denver that wouldn?t have charged us a cover for the band even without buying dinner. The entire reason we went to dinner there was to see the band. I called that day to make a reservation and no mention of the cover was mentioned when I asked about the band. A cover without dinner yes, fine but to nickel and dime dinner guests is rediculus. They were already charging $4 Bud Lt.

Don?t waste your time or money on their fake southern charm. They obviously don?t have a clue what lagniappe means.

Nono's offers great Louisiana/Southern/Cajun food at great prices! Gotta love the blackened catfish, the mac and cheese, the spicy garlic salad dressing, the dipping sauce for bread...everything here is great. You get filling portions, but save room for the bread pudding...YUM!

We thought this would be a great place given the reviews, but our experience was horrible. We waited 10+ for the first person to come to our table and another 30 for our food to come. The food was horrible!! How can you mess up breakfast?? The manager blamed it on a "slow" Sunday...seriously??

It seems that management doesn't read their reviews or even care because complaints have been issued for some time. I had breakfast there months ago and the service was bad. Tried again 9/24/08 and it was even worse. No one welcomed my wife and me, we were told that we could not have what we wanted because it would stress the small kitchen. Only 3 tables were occupied! Had to wait forever for food, coffee refills weren't offered, we had to ask, not one person asked if the meal was good or thanked us for coming. The trash from empty cream containers, used straws, used napkins etc. were placed at the edge of the table and never noticed, had to wait and finally askfor the bill. No thank you when we were leaving. This wait staff should be properyl trained and monitored to be friendly and courteous - or maybe the management should change!

We love Nono's! A quaint and charming atmosphere with a dedicated staff and excellent food. Their spaghetti with meat sauce is, by far, the BEST I have ever had. The "house" salad dressing is so delicious they serve it with bread for dipping and sell it by the jar-full. The Strawberrry cake is the most delicious cake, absolutely heavenly as are all of their home-made desserts. They serve the traditional creole favorites like catfish and bread pudding, too. Very family friendly with a good kids menu and it is always very busy, call ahead to see what the wait will be! They have a wonderful wrap around porch to relax on while you wait for a table.

I loved finding a Cajun restaurant with true Cajun food! Gumbo is terrific - very authentic, extra dark roux. Check out the crawfish boils - all you can eat and then some! Try the catfish poboy - great stuff! Oh, and it's nice finding guys from back home.

I was excited to find an "unique" restaurant where my family and I could go to for our traditional Sunday breakfast and that is near our home, then we ate there. We were treated like we were not wanted. To quote the host "we do not want to overwhelm our kitchen, so it will be a 30 minute wait." Mind you, there were several empty tables and what were they thinking staffing with inept help at Sunday brunch! This did not bode well, but we hung-in-there. We were eventually seated, but were lost in no-man's land where service was rare, which means only one cup of coffee for you. When we eventually got our order. My strawberry french toast was covered in sugar and barely a strawberry to be seen. My husband had something with country sausage gravy, but could not get sausage with his meal. Huh? My two-year-old son was tired of the 1.5 hour process and was ready to jump off the deck. Sadly, the view was the only thing good about the experience. No one gave us a bill, so I went to the front and stood there like an idiot until I could get someone's attention. Please go only if you have low expectations and high self esteem because this place is as welcoming as a rodent in your soup.

We had a great meal here! The service was wonderful as well. We met another couple here, and they were impressed also. We will all definitely be back. The view off of the west facing patio was beautiful!

MY Family and I went there for the first time, and had lunch .It took way to long to get a burger and a fish sandwich and mac and cheese, and when it got there the burger was raw, and I mean raw! My husband sent it back , so I shared my fish sandwich with him , which was ok but wasn't anything special. The mac and cheese looked like something that was scraped out of a pan that was sitting out for days. Yuck! So after sitting around again for my husbands other burger , we got tired of waiting and asked for the bill. Then the manager comes over and apologizes takes the burger off our bill , which I believe for the service and inconvienence of my husband not getting lunch they should not have of charged us period. We left and went home and made our own burgers(YUM) . Next time we want to go out for lunch it wont be there.

I ordered the pancake and scrambles eggs. Very simple to prepare. The eggs were cold. Apparently the eggs are prepared in advance and refrigerated until an order is requested. However, the cook? forgot to reheat them. Even the small plate they were served on was cold. The watress removed them, took an order for 4 from an adjoining table and finally took the cold eggs to the kitchen for heating. I finished my pancake before the reheated eggs arrived. I didn't have anything to eat with the eggs by then such as bread, toast, etc. I just left them on the plate. Requested the check and after watching her talk to the manager/owner, a $1.95 was removed from my bill. The manager/owner didn't come to apologize just glared at me as if it was my problem. He apparently didn't care if I ever returned. Terrible service.

When I read the online reviews I was hesitant about choosing Nono's cafe but so glad we did. We had a group of 23 for lunch on a Friday at 11:15. We arrived and were promptly seated. The food was excellent, the service was as well. We never had to wait for our drinks to be refilled or dirty dishes to be removed from the table. The desserts came highly recommended and did not disappoint...the bread pudding was so fabulous but the warm strawberry cake was also lucious. Glad we went and next time I am down that way I will stop in to try another entree. Can't wait!!!

I've been going to NO-No's since they were in the shopping center off of Broadway, before they built their new restaurant. I love the food. But to keep from being disappointed, expect only fair service at best -it doesn't matter whether they are busy or not. Its never really good. The food keeps me going back just because I'm from the South and love the way they celebrate the South through their unique dishes. But the last time I went there they tried to served us their signature Gumbo without any rice. Thats like getting Irish stew without any potatoes! C'mon guys! And when I complained, our watress said "yeah, we ran out"... Well then TELL ME YOU DON"T HAVE ANY RICE AND I'LL ORDER SOMETHING ELSE!" Don't bother asking for the owner, it doesn't help a lot. We finally got our rice. Ofcourse it was AFTER most of the Gumbo was gone and the rest cold... Certainly don't expect an apology or some discount or a coupon or anything... the Brewster's east coast attitude comes off like "I got your customer service right heah!" And unfortunately, that attitude is passed down through the staff. When you get treated like that, you just don't feel appreciated as a customer. It's really sad. Such good unique recipes but an unreliable dining experience.

Pros: Unique, spicey, Southern / Creole recipes in a setting that says 'Down South'

Cons: "Cocky, we don't really care" attitude from the top-down creates a disappointing experience

We always visit NONO's Cafe when we visit Denver. It is a delightful dinning experience with great dishes and adequate service. It has a homey atmosphere and great homey service. When it is busy the wait can be a little long but we aren't rushing to get anywhere. Life isn't intended to be as rushed as the Denver populace seems to think is necessary. The food is worth the wait. The cajun dishes are authentic as the owners are long time New Orleans residents and the chef is a local from the midwest who has a midwest work ethic. The southern comfort dishes are great and they even tell you where the recipes came from. The bread pudding is the very best I have ever eaten. Visit and enjoy the people and the great food. I can't believe the negative reviews I have read on this website!!! My experiences have always been the opposite but if it ensures I can always get into this restaurant so be it. We love it here!!!!!

We have been to Nono's twice to enjoy the southern style food and have walked away disapointed each time. The food is good--excellent even--it's the service that will not bring us back. Both times we waited over ten minutes to get a drink order and both times the appetizer arrived before our drinks! After we've sent back the wrong dish, had the crabmeat dip delivered without bread, had to flag down a server (that wasn't even ours) to order and asked for our bill more than once, both times we left feeling not too excited about the establishment. Management makes no apologies for terrible service and the entire experience leaves something to be desired. Food is not worth the headache.

We love No No's! My kids love the grilled peanut butter & jelly, my husband loves the Crawfish Monica, and I love the Beef Strogonoff. We always get the crab dip to start, and end it with the Strawberry Cake. This restaurant is a mom & pop shop (which you wouldn't think from the large building), so the service to me seems like a lot of the hired help is actually relatives doing a favor. But, the food definitely makes up for it, as every item on the menu seems to be well thought through and tested out (not just a whole bunch of generic food thrown in there.) A nice thing is that they always have their regular menu items, but rotate other menu items in each month, so there is always something new to try. A good restaurant for families and kids--very casual.

We're always on the hunt for good breakfast food, and after seeing Nono's in a magazine, we decided to try it out. My husband had the "Breakfast in Bread" which is scrambled eggs, ham, hashbrowns served in a soft bread bowl, smothered with gravy!! It was huge, and though a bit carb-heavy, very delicious. I had the Strawberry French Toast, which was your traditional french toast stuffed with a whipped strawberry filling with pecans and raisins. It was very good, but very sweet! The service was fine, and the atmosphere felt like being in someone's home. Overall, we really liked Nono's, and would definitely recommend it to others!

We have been hearing good things about Nono's Cafe so we were eager to try it...but will probably not go back. The food was pretty good actually (although we were starving!) Chicken Nono and salad with ranch dressing were well prepared. Mac n cheese was an oily brick of penne, not creamy. But it was the service that will prohibit us from returning. Iced tea arrived with no sweetener or straw. I asked but did not receive any until I waved down someone else. Waitress forgot my salad, didn't clear anyones plates and did not ask how our food was (nor did she deliver it). We had to ask for the check which is the only thing she did quickly. Decent food but unacceptable service.

This was the first time I left a restauant without leaving a tip. I too am a server at a restaurant and I value not just serving food to my customers/guests, but a positive experience. I know we all have off days, but unfortunatly my experience at Nono's was VERY VERY disappointing and the server didn't seem very apologetic. I was so looking forward to eating there because I've heard so much about the restaurant. We were seated quickly, but after we gave our server our order we never saw our server again till we complained to management. Someone else dropped off our food. No refills on drinks or bread from our server or another server/helper. We weren't sure about a side dish and the server knew that and never came back to follow up on it. I know when I'm busy as a server at a restaurant and I can't get to my table again I ask for help, even if it's the owner. While we were leaving management apologized and asked us to give them a second chance. I know the restaurant that I work at would have offered to comp something or offer a gift card to come make again. Nono's was a no no choice for me and my guest and I don't plan to give them a 2nd chance.

My family went there for a birthday celebration, and the service was okay, we didn't get our food for 1 hour. 3 of my family members, including me, ordered the ribeye steak (all medium and cajun style). Every steak came to us very well done and mostly fat. Not to mention that none of them were cajun. They were the grilled style ribeye (also available on the menu). We nicely asked if the steaks were cajun. The server went to ask the cook and came back saying "yes, they are definatley cajun". Yikes! Did the cook lie? It was the worst steak I have ever had. I left more than half of it on my plate. The macaroni and cheese on the side, was simply penne pasta with a big chunk of cheddar cheese melted on top, turned into a brick of oily noodels. Is this truly how they do it in Louisiana? Nasty!

The interior of NoNo's is a little too kitschy to be classy. The atmosphere feels cluttered, like your grandma's sewing room. The wine selection is slim at best, and the bread is as white as it comes. The Crawfish Monica had good flavor, but was very oily. VERY oily. The Chicken NoNo was delicious, but again, dripping with oil. I lived in New Orleans, Louisiana and miss the cuisine, so I'm always looking for authentic NOLA-style spicing and flavor. NoNo's has it, but I'd like to see it with a little (make that a lot, in fact, a heck-of-a-lot) less oil. And I'd like to see it...with a different interior.

We didn't finish our meals and we BOTH asked for a box. The waitress came back with my leftovers and not my friends. My friend asked about hers. The waitress said she didn't hear my friend ask for a box and went to ask the manager what to do. When the bill came, the sandwich was still on the bill. The manager came over, we explained the situation. Well, he started Yelling at us that he was being fair and we didn't ask for the leftovers. We repeated that we asked for it. The waitress said she didn't hear us. Well, this is when he starting yelling louder at us...leaned over the table into my friends face and was literally yelling at the top of his lungs at her. Told us to get the H ell out of the restaurant and never come back.

Great food from great owners with a wonderful rotating menu. The gumbo and macaroni really stand out.
