.

The first movie I ever saw at the Eagle's was "The Long, Long Trailer", Lucille Ball circa 1953. Eagle's was where I saw all my Disney, Gigi, Doris Day...basically movies that my mom liked and so I was taken also.
The updated and renovated Eagle's is very nice on the first floor. The seats are so comfy, it is clean. The balcony is the same as I've always remembered.
What I love about the Eagle's is the way they have cleaned it up, their prices and the price of concessions. Plus, I LOVE going to the movies there, knowing that in a world where change happens every day, some things....like the Eagle's, and my town of Wabash, stay pretty much the same. There is comfort in that.
This weekend I will go to see "The Artist", and I can't imagine a better movie to watch at the Eagle's. "The Artist" is the story of a silent movie, and silent movies were played at the Eagle's....which only serves to reinforce that old adage, "The more things change, the more they remain the same!" You should visit the Eagle's some weekend....and our little town....you will be glad you did!!!

Recent updates by the Fords have made this once beautiful movie and stage theater bearable once again. Much work remains to be done however and it is difficult to predict whether management will bring this facility back to life fully or if if will remain on life support. (1/10/11)
