I think that this is the best place to succeed at your fitness needs and desires. They offer everything you need to do this. It does take effort on your own part to make it a success and with lifetime you can do it. I did. I've lost 50lbs. I have 60 more to go! Thanks Lifetime!

Beware of Lifetime Fitness on the north side and any other Lifetime Fitness that is. I understand there name, Lifetime, because that is what they want. You as a member for Life and they will do whatever it takes to accomplish that. They will double charge your debit/credit card, treat you rudely and it will take months of calls, visits and e-mails to recoupe your money. As long as you expect to never stop paying the $100 a month that it costs, don't enter into there bogus contracts....read the fine print, because they will hold you to it, no matter what. My bank, Chase, down the street warned me about Lifetime and how many complaints they get from there customers about unauthorized charges and how much headache they cause there members. I should have listened and I am doing my part in warning any of you that are reading this! Again, Beware.

I would never join this gym again if were to ever move back to Indy.

My reasons:
-No TVs on cardio machines...I moved here from East Coast and this is standard in all "good" gyms. I was told when I came to this gym that gyms in Indy didn't have TVs. So, I (like an idiot) took their word for it and joined since their location was close to my job. After joining, I found out that the YMCA in Fishers (which is close to my home) has TVs on cardio equipment. Doh.

-They only have two areas where the TVs are and of the 8 TVs in each area, two are dedicated to LifeTimes music video station?

-You need an FM Tuner to listen to the TVs. This was shocking to me. If a gym doesn't have TVs on the equipment then they at least have the little device you can plug your headphones into and pick which channel you want to listen to!! Soooo...you have to read close captioning...good luck finding a machine close enough to the TVs to read the CC during peak hours.

-Easy cancellation policy - NOT TRUE!! I was very clear that I was only going to be in Indy for a few months. Adviser said no problem, they had a month's notice cancellation policy. Sounds easy, right? NO! I called on Dec 1st to cancel and learned that my membership would extend through end of JANUARY! Wait, what? I was giving a MONTH's notice!! Dec1-Jan1! And my december billing hadn't even withdrawn, so TECHNICALLY, according to their system December hadn't started. It's not a month's notice...it is one month and the last day of the month before! I asked to speak to GM, who was too good to call me back and had someone else call me who was completely inflexible and continued to say "that's our policy"...customer service 101 - NEVER USE THE PHRASE "That's Our Policy"...especially when it is a RIDICULOUS policy. And if the policy is so tricky (and it was obvious, I was not the first person tripped up by this)...why didn't the adviser tell me right out of the gate since I was very upfront that I would need to cancel in a few month's time!! Also...if you need to cancel, heads up - you have to go into the gym or send cancellation by certified mail?! Again, ridiculous. Though, I was more than happy to drive to LifeTime on Dec 1st to put in my cancellation for that month.

Don't be fooled by their size and supposed "luxury"....hardly. Save money and join a different gym!!!

Pros: Lots of nice equipment. 24 hours. Great Group Fitness classes.

Cons: OVERLY priced, bogus policies, unfriendly staff, unfriendly members (both tend to think they are better than you!), way busy at peak hours, staff is more focused on sales than service

Gotten facials there a few times, best in town by far. The girls are very nice and accomodating. The only drawback is it can be loud and non-spalike being in Lifetime Fitness.

If you have kids this is a great gym to be a member of. The childcare is HUGE, has lots of play equipment and even computers. The staff is really nice to the kids and they are sure to check ID when you get them which makes me feel even safer. You can also have up to 2 hours a day of childcare time so you canget time for a shower, etc. All our kids really like it there.

I wish I still had a membership to Lifetime fitness. I've never been to a nicer gym.

When you first join you get to work with a personal trainer who will set up a routine for you. They also do a complete work up of your weight, fat percentage etc. What a wake-up call when they tell you how your body's age compares with your actual age!

There is tons of equipment, and though it's very crowded, you typically don't have to wait.

They offer childcare which I really liked and felt comfortable leaving my child in.

There is a lap pool as well as a zero depth entry pool which is nice with kids. The hot tubs are kept at different temps so you can choose one that suits you.

Overall an excellent club!
