We utilized Hogan Mayflower-Indianapolis for a move at the end of June 2012 (to Georgia). My husband met with Doug S. initially and reported him to be professional and organized. The quote from Mayflower was up to $2000 less than other moving companies we sought out.

We had 2 people come to pack our home. They worked efficiently. I was in and out of various rooms while they were packing. I neglected to see them pack our flat screen TV in a box with other items from the living room. When we unpacked I could not believe it was not secured in its own carton. Our printer and other valuable electronic items were also packed this way. None of the items were damaged, however.

A driver and 4 gentleman came to load our things. My husband had been told by Doug S. that this driver would be the one that would deliver our items to GA (and would be able to provide an estimated delivery date and final price). The driver 1) was not the person who would deliver our items to GA and 2)did not have any of this information and referred us back to Doug S. After we agreed to go with Mayflower we never received a return call from Doug, despite a leaving a multitude of messages on his voice mail and office phone. Beverly (another office worker at Hogan Mayflower) called to give us the final price (which was wrong). It seems as if very little communication took place between Beverly, Doug, and the movers/packers. The guys that loaded our belongings in Indiana were efficient and there was no damage to our home or belongings when loaded.

A 6 day spread was given to us by the moving company (during which our items might arrive). We had to repeatedly call Beverly to get any updates about the estimated delivery date. They only have to give you 24 hours notice; but Doug gave us the impression that we would know an estimated delivery date well ahead of that time. On day 5, the driver called and said his truck was broke down a couple of states away and that he would not make it that day (which he thought was the deadline). We did not even know he was coming! He told us that he was going to get a part for his truck and would likely be there the next day (still in the range of dates they gave us). Since we were staying at a hotel, we asked that he call us that night, to let us know if he was able to fix his truck and give us a time that he might arrive (because our hotel was 30-45 min away from our new home).

The driver showed up at our new home around 7am the next day. He did not call us the night before as he said he would do. In his defense, we had some cell phone connection problems and missed the first few calls he made THAT MORNING notifying us he was there. When we did connect with him, he was rude to my husband AND HUNG THE PHONE UP ON HIM. We hurriedly checked out of the hotel. When we got to our new home the driver (and only ONE) assistant had left to get something to eat. When we encountered them, the driver kept asking: "do y'all know how hot it is out here?" We asked why he didn't call the night before (like he said he would do --- we had the voice mail recorded). He said "I was tired" . He grumbled the entire morning/afternoon. The leg on one of my end tables was broken. Our living room book shelf was totally busted. The final correct price was not transferred to our paperwork --- so it appeared that our cashier's check did not cover the total amount of our move.

I would not recommend using Hogan Mayflower Moving of Indianapolis. After the sale was made, communication with office staff was poor and we often received incorrect information about our move. Dealing with this moving company made the stress of an interstate move even worse.

I used this company to move my family this past year (July 2009). I had a salesman that was pretty good, but wouldn't return calls unless I hounded him for days. I should have known by that alone, but the crew showed up anyway to move my stuff. They packed everything ok, but made a huge mess in the home I was selling. They spilled oily water all over my stairs (carpet) when moving my washer, as they didn't put runners down properly when moving out. I had to pay damages to the new owners and told Hogan about it. They WOULDN'T EVEN CALL ME BACK. This is the most rediculous company I've ever worked with. I move about every 3 years for work, so I know the difference. I hope these guys go out of business before they really hurt someone who can't afford mistakes!

We just used Mayflower and Hogan Transfer for an interstate move. That was a big mistake! The office staff had no idea what they were doing. There was absolutely no communication within this organization and with the client. It was a wonder that our furnishings arrived at our destination at all. It was also a week late in arriving.

What a joke for a company! We moved from Indianapolis to Las Vegas and I have never seen such terrible, horrible service. The actual movers were okay, but the Indianapolis office staff as well as the sales people were incompetent. We had our belongings put into the Mayflower storage upon arrival and have been calling the Indianapolis location (Hogan Mayflower) for 3 months to find out the status of our stuff. It is going on 3 months and we have still NEVER received ONE call back and they still have EVERYTHING we own . Who knows if they sold it, gave it away, etc!!! They simply refer you to some sales guy's voice mail and then they NEVER CALL YOU BACK!! We are still trying to get our stuff out of storage. They will be hearing from our lawyer quite soon. What a mess! Do not use this company!
