In July 2007 I hired Jarrott's Auto Glass to replace the windshield on my car. After the initial installation, the windshield leaked air from the outside as I would drive the car. A second service call did not correct the problem. I subsequently learned that the Jarrott installer had cracked the molding upon which the windshield rests, but failed to advise me of this or correct the problem. In May of 2009 the rain sensor, which is attached to the inside of the windshield spontaneously detached from the windshield. My fiance witnessed this event. I called Jarrott's to invoke the 'lifetime warranty against defects in workmanship and materials. An installer came to my home to inspect the windshield and indicated that I must have been in an accident to cause the sensor to detach. I advised him that I had not any accidents and advised him to pull a Carfax report. The installer left my home and indicated that they would be in touch. After not having been contacted for 2 weeks, I contacted Jarrott's and was advised that, despite no objective proof, that they were convinced that something must have hit the windshield and that they would not honor the lifetime warranty.
