I took my car to Ezra several times over the past year. I thought it would be nice to support a neighborhood business, and a friend of mine recommended him. He was friendly and completed repairs quickly. But as it turns out, this guy cost me a lot of money because another mechanic had to fix his mistakes.

Experience #1: A service light came on in my car, and since I bought the car used without a manual, I didn't know what it meant. Ezra said, "Don't worry about that--it's just an electrical issue causing the light to go off for no reason, it happens sometimes." This seemed odd, so I took the car to another mechanic. As it turns out, that light indicated low radiator fluid!

Experience #2: Ezra used the wrong parts on what should have been a simple axle repair. First, my new mechanic told me that Ezra actually made the axle worse and that it had cracked as a result. Then he discovered that the bolts Ezra used on the wheel were the wrong size and were shearing, so those had to be replaced. Altogether, the parts and labor needed to fix Ezra's mistakes cost about $300.

Experience #3: Car inspection. Ezra applied the wrong sticker, so that the inside said it expired 7/08, but the outside said 6/08. I got a $41 ticket for expired registration. I take responsibility for not noticing that the two dates didn't match, but every time I got into my car I saw "Expires on the last day of the month of 7/08" with Ezra's signature underneath!

The friend who recommended Ezra to me last year is no longer going there because he also damaged her car with faulty repairs, and she had to pay to have it fixed elsewhere.

I wish I could support Ezra as he seems like a nice enough guy and he's a small business owner, but I will never be going back to his shop.
