It's fun to go to Whole Foods, just be careful what you pick up! If you are, you can get great food with a reasonable price. People watching as much as food here!

Refer to my Giant Eagle review for more details, but suffice it to say, when I go on a shopping trip there, I walk around seeing little that I find appetizing, and leave with a lot less food than I really need, feeling irritated and unfulfilled. I have never once had such an experience at Whole Foods. Even if you're not an organic food nut (and I for one really am not), you'll love the massive selection of really innovative and different food products they offer, and don't be shy about trying their own brand of just about everything, because I have pretty discriminating taste and I have yet to buy something there that wasn't delicious. And a lot of it is comparable in price, if not cheaper, than the same own-brand offerings at many regular supermarkets.

If the sheer selection and quality isn't enough for you, the service is absolutely incredible (just talk to the guys at the cheese counter, they'll practically force you to let them cut open and give you a sample of anything and everything you're curious about), the fresh foods are ALWAYS fresh, and absolutely, positively, DO NOT LEAVE without getting as much prepared food as you can possibly eat - from the salad bar to the hot food bar to the sushi and soups (don't forget the seafood soups, they're with the seafood, rather than the rest of the prepared foods), it's all amazing.

Oh, and make sure you pick up a chocolate cream pie - it's REAL cream, and it's addictive. Or possibly don't pick one up. It's your call.

Whole Foods is a fabulous grocery store. Their produce is only the best. And the prepared food section is impressive. The food is healthy and worth the price.

First, let me say that this is among one of the smallest Whole Foods I've seen...or, perhaps that's because of the sheer amount of people packed into it. The parking lot is a postage stamp and slightly nightmarish (expect parking attendants to squeeze you in on weekends). However, it's one of the few good places to by organic and natural foods in the area. So, for that, it's worth the hassle.

PROS: Relatively healthy foods in Pittsburgh!
CONS: Not in the greatest neighborhood.

Generally Whole Foods is a happy and delicious environment. A couple of drawbacks are that the food is often expensive and the store is always crowded. But, if you are looking for high quality, organic, and delicious food this is the place for you. I also recommend the salad bar - it is great for lunch, but expect to spend about $10 for a large salad.

I love Whole Foods and really wish there would be one in the North Hills!!!!! The employees are EXCEPTIONAL. They are kind and helpful and really go the extra mile for the customer. The selection of food is great and the food is always fresh. We buy most of my daughter's food there as she is on a special diet. They are constantly getting new products which gives us more of a variety. Whole Foods rocks!!!!!

Whole Foods is one of the best grocery stores out there. Their employees are always friendly and always eager to help you find a product you are looking for. They carry a wide variety of gourmet, organic, and diverse types of food products. Their produce is very reasonably priced- it's very fresh and the displays are always impeccable. They have a deli as well as a cold bar and a hot foods bar. The prepared food is a delicious alternative to cooking it yourself if you have no time to do so. They do take manufacturer's coupons, but they do not double them. Overall, a great place to shop.
