Another review of OB GYN Associates ONLY - NOT Dr Tannebaum. I had been going to the this OB GYN for 10 years. When the Computer Rd practice closed and they moved to another office things really changed. Even the Dr who I saw at the time agreed. The new office was dirty and the front desk staff were really rude. The last time I called to make an appointment it took them three weeks to finally call me back (I had left multiple message during this time). By that time I had called, made an appointment and gone to the Women's Health Center in Holy Redeemer. They were nicer to me as a new patient then OB GYN was to me after going there for 10 years.

Please note this is a review of Abington OBGYN in general, NOT specifically a review of Dr. Tannenbaum.
I first chose Abington OBGYN because I had heard that Abington was one of the best hospitals for maternity care. In my first trimester, after doing extensive research on labor & delivery, I decided that I wanted to have a natural intervention-free birth (no IV or epidural). When I informed the doctors at Abington OB of my wishes, I was LAUGHED AT. I told them I did not want to be offered an epidural, that I would ask for one if I needed it, and they basically responded, "too bad, we're offering the epidural either way. You have no choice, we're going to offer it". I was floored. They also laughed at me when I told them I intended to write a Birth Wishlist, and told me that it was pointless to write a birth plan.
Every woman has the right to make her own decisions about her birth wishes. If you want a very medicalized birth, and if you prefer to be uninformed and completely give yourself over to the care of your doctors, then Abington OBGYN is the place for you. However, if you want to be empowered and have a say in your prenatal care and birth, I suggest going elsewhere.
I left Abington OBGYN in my 2nd trimester and transfered to the Midwifery practice at Pennsylvania Hospital. I had my baby 100% naturally, as I had wanted, and received support and positive reinforcement from the staff there. My Birth Wishlist was well received and followed when possible. I delivered my baby myself, rather than have an OB deliver my baby, as is the philosophy at Abington.
I am positive that had I stayed with Abington, I would have had a terrible birth experience and felt completely out of control of my situation during labor & delivery. A natural birth is not for everyone, but if you are considering it, DO NOT place your care in the hands of Abington OBGYN!!!

Dr. T delivered my little angel and when I discovered that I need a c-section, he gave me a huge hug when I started sobbing and kept me laughing until she was born- all 9lbs 9oz and he did a great job with the tubal ligation I barely have a scar and was up and moving in a week. Definitely recommend Dr. T.

I have been with this OBGYN practice for several years and this is my third pregnancy. I am satisfied overall with this practice. Dr. Tannenbaum in particular has an excellent bedside manner -- he is professional but also warm and caring. When I had a secondary health condition during my second pregnancy and needed surgery, this OBGYN practice provided excellent care. I would recommend them to others.
