I bought a new bike at the Trophy Bikes at the N. American St. location. It was a total lemmon. The brake mechanism was defective. I had to keep going back to the shop for repairs. They were nasty and rude and at one point even accused me of crashing the bike and causing the problems. Which, of course, was total hogwash since the bike didn't have a scratch on it. Through the whole thing I was always long suffering and polite. I finally spoke with that little gray-haired guy, Mike McGettigan, the owner. He was rude and practically told me to get lost. The place will simply not stand by the bikes they sell.

This store needs a primer on customer/business relations.
After patronizing Trophy for the past four years, mostly for parts and accessories, we recently bought a bike on sale from Trophy....it had been for sale for months, and indeed it was marked down quite a bit, but it was not cheap even on sale (~900$). Within 6 months the bike required new parts that equaled almost 30% of the cost of the purchase originally. When asked for a break on the parts that should never have needed replacing that soon, we were given a LOT of grief about it. The argument was that we'd be taking money from them if they gave us a discount, even after having sold us a bike with poor parts on it - they were unable to give more than a 10% break on one of two major part replacements.......($15 on about $300 overall!)
We have spent thousands of dollars in that store - plenty of profit had been made at our own expense.......so I just don't see the logic behind not backing the products you sell and not giving a loyal customer a break.
