The "sushi" here is frightening. I ate here on a Monday night and the chefs were speaking Spanish. Obviously, their native food was not Japanese or Asian, and no one has taught them how to make a real maki roll. My Dragon Roll looked like a tiny supermarket roll with a thin slice of eel balanced on top. Actually, it tasted worse than supermarket sushi. I also had vegetable Udon, which was awful. There were hardly any vegetables in it. At $14.50, it was way overpriced too. I would recommend walking around the corner and going to Fuji Mountain, where the rolls are decent and you won't feel ripped off. This place is just horrendous.

Pros: None

Cons: Sushi rolls are badly made, too small

My boyfriend and I went to sushi land on a Wednesday night, and it was absolutely packed. When I asked one of the servers how long the wait would be, she said about five minutes. Twenty minutes later we were still standing at the door waiting for a table.
When we finally were seated and we had ordered, our food came out in decent time but the dressing on their house salad tasted like peanut butter. Not for me.
I had a chirashi sushi box and although mostly the sushi had a good taste, there were a few pieces that were very stringy, and the squid was HORRIFIC. It was the WORST piece of raw fish I have ever put in my mouth by far. I could barely even bite it it was so tough. It was almost CRUNCHY. My boyfriend's, who had ordered something like a sushi sampler, was no better. Disgusting.
We originally chose to go to sushi land rather than our regular sushi restaurant (Samurai) because it was supposed to be cheaper. However, there was no difference in price for an average Samurai bill vs. the Sushi Land bill.
The sushi could have been a little neater in appearance but overall it was pretty tasty, minus that squid. Next time we're sticking to Samurai.

The best sushi on the main line or surrounding areas for sure! The cooks are great and friendly, service is good, and food is fresh. Nice BYOB also. Prefer Sushi Land to Fugi Mountain by far.

I used to go to Sushi Land at least once a week while in grad school. While it's not the most amazing sushi you'll ever eat, it's reasonably priced and its BYOB.

My fiance and I live a few blocks from this place and like to walk over during the week with bottle of wine and a couple of cold beers (BYOB's are awesome, aren't they?).

The food is always good and the prices are reasonable. We get completely full on delicious appetizers & sushi for usually no more than $40. I won't say this is necessarily the best sushi I have ever eaten, but for the price it is superb. And I have certainly spent more on worse.

Jay (I think that's his name) is a relaxed South Korean guy that always has a glass of wine or champagne with us when we eat at the sushi bar. The quality of his staff varies somewhat. The last time we ate there our waitress was a pretty young woman that was rather salty at first because she was annoyed we asked the front door be propped open. By the end of the meal she had warmed up to us and was telling us about her hometown in S. Korea and the circumstances under which she immigrated to the USA when she was 11.
I think her name was Susan.... she was great.

Overall, one would have a hard time finding better sushi for the price. I don't think anybody, except the most fastidious diners, would be disappointed.

Pros: Delicious inexpensive sushi, cool owner

Sushi Land is my favorite spot to get sushi on the Main Line. It is BYO and the prices are reasonable. Their sushi is to die for, and they have a huge list of really interesting special rolls. Go there!!

The interior of this restaurant is nothing to holler at but the sushi sure is. It's very good and quite cheap. A definite yes.

Cons: Ambience

My husband and I have gotten sushi here several times and we really like it. We are glad to see that business is hopping these days. Unfortunately the interior is rather drab and unassuming, so you don't really go there for the decor or ambiance, just really good sushi. It's BYOB too, which is also a plus.
