The building was bought at auction and rehabbed by the owner, Chaz.</p> <p>Chaz often staffs the store, and has only a few employees. He's no-nonsense, and self-respecting. He once refused to do a tune-up on an old schwinn I had because the frame was slightly cracked (&quot;unsafe,&quot; he said), but more to the point -- he said the bike wasn't worth paying for a tune-up!</p> <p>I have never been in a bike shop where I feel more trust for the work being done. They're honest, they know what they're talking about, and won't cut corners.</p> <p>Most importantly, Chaz seized my stolen bike (which I purchased there) from some neighborhood kids who took it, and called me to give it back.
