I heard a pop when I tried to turn on the unit and it never engaged. I was able to determine the breaker was still on but there was no power to the emergency shutoff box mounted to the unit. I also found an inline switch between that box and the breaker box.\r\n\r\nThey didnt schedule till 2 1/2 days later. The tech took 75 minutes to discover an unknown screw in fuse in the inline box between the emergency shutoff and the breaker box had blown. $270 to replace it. \r\n\r\nThe blowers did engage. The furnace did not. Tech said it's normal for the furnace to take a LONG time to kick, turned it off at the thermostat and left\r\n\r\nI firmly argued the charge with the company and they cut that fee in 1/2.\r\n\r\nAll's well? Hardly\r\n\r\nA week later i turned the heat on and nothing happened. I was able to turn on the blowers but the furnace would not fire. \r\n\r\nInfuriated, I shot off a firm email to the company and called in UGI. They showed up not just the next day, but that morning. On a side note, Edwin Stipe charges $69 just to show up so their bill was actually $317 minus a coupon). \r\n\r\nUGI charged half the hourly rate Edwin Stipe charged and found the 1st tech left wiring unplugged inside the furnace. Henry from Edwin Stipe insisted the furnace was fired tested before the tech left. Something I firmly argued was very much impossible considering the wiring was never put back. \r\n\r\nThey finally did one honorably thing after multiple email exchanges Zeroing out the balanace (Waiting on rebill proof) but Henry argued with me the whole time about fair pricing, professionalism and trust\r\n\r\nWould you describe it as professional and trust a company that charges double, leaves the equipment all but dead when they leave and argues with you over a weeks time they did nothing wrong? \r\n\r\nBTW - They don't know this, the tech that came out left his paperwork so I have proof Edwin Stipe sub contracts.\r\n\r\nI think company and its President are a disgrace to the industry

I had an issue with a clogged drain on my heat exchanger and had to call for service. Upon receiving the bill, I was charged over 200 dollars for a service call within normal business hours. \n\nI was then told my furnace was extremely rusted and wouldn't be safe to have over the winter. I was quoted over 9k to replace the condenser, furnace, and exchanger. My house is under 1100ft.. \n\nAfter receiving a second opinion, I found out that not only should it cost a couple grand less than that, my furnace was working fine and didn't need to be replaced before winter. Oh, and the flushing should have costed half as much as what I was charged for a 15 minute job. \n\nThanks Edwin, at least you can get the job done. I hope others benefit from my post.
