A Good Hotel
by mildlyamusing
That's exactly what it is. A good hotel in a good location. The staff was accomodating to my early check-in and the room was clean and well appointed. The bed was extremely comfortable (evidenced by my 2 hour nap). The designers of the hotel seem to be very fond of marble, not that there's anything wrong with that. One very important positive is that they have a garage directly under the hotel, so they can have your car ready in seconds, not 30 minutes like some other Center City hotels that shall remain nameless. I stay in Philly 5-6 times a year and I think I would return to this hotel in the future.
Pros: Location, Staff, Parking
Cons: None

Decent luxury hotel
by doccat7
The lobby and staff of the hotel are great. However, we had a negative experience from the beginning that was not completely fixed. Our bed sheets were wet when we checked in. Housekeeping tried to fix the problem, but still they were wet again that night. Otherwise, the food, front desk service, and general furnishings were high-quality. I expected free internet service, more up-to-date paint, and more attention to small details than we received, given the overall ambience and price of the Westin.

Wonderful Hotel

We've stayed here several time... the place is beautiful, the bed/sheets are great. You can tell this use to be a Ritz. The staff is nice. No complaints.
Pros: Beautiful Hotel, Great Bed, Cool Shower Head

An unappreciated bargain?

This hotel was previously the St. Regis, but it was built as a Ritz-Carlton. Their attention to detail shows in the architecture and the room layout. Add to this the Westin's Heavenly Bed and Heavenly Bath and you've got a perfect hotel.
I've never had any problems with the staff, but I might not have asked for much. No problems with late check outs, and I've always gotten a terrific room rate.
Location is also terrific - attached to Liberty Place and easy walking distance to everything (or a $5 cab ride from almost everything else).
Pros: Location, Rooms, Service

Great hotel, staff needs improvement
by laura_beaumont
My boyfriend and I stayed here recently as a romantic escape. The room was wonderful, the bathroom and shower great, and the bed, well i just wanted to lay there and sleep all night. Our rate was to include a 4pm checkout and free breakfast. We only received those things when we went back down to the receptionist and pointed out to her that she forgot them, for which she didn't even apologize. We also were to receive a gift bag for which we were told they were out of. Parking is also expensive if you don't do valet, we left one time during our stay and we had to pay 20 the first time we left and 22 the second time we left for parking, also if you park yourself you have to walk through a mall to get to the hotel.
Pros: great room, comfy bed, beautiful hotel
Cons: expensive parking, inconsiderate staff

Lovely hotel
by norawcoffey
This is a lovely hotel to stay at, very comfortable and luxurious bedding. Service could be better.
Having held two conferences at this hotel, the first year was impeccable (they fired the wonderful sales person who attended to every detail). The second conference was a disaster, new sales person did nothing as requested. So my ratings are for the hotel rooms only, not a recommendation for conferences or meetings.
