A couple of days ago I called Bruce Ginsburg of Bruce's Plumbing & Heating for loud pulsating noise coming from my water pipes when water was running such as taking shower, flushing toilet etc. First of all he did not show up on time and did not bother to inform me that he was getting late until I called to check. When he showed up late, to my surprise without even trying to find what the actual problem was he rushed to my toilets and started changing ballcock valve in them. I kept telling him that he should at least diagnose the problem before doing this. I also told him that possible cause of this loud pulsating noise could be bad Pressure Regulating Valve .He insisted that these ballcock valve??s in my toilet tanks are the problem. He managed to change ballcock valve in two of my toilets. The loud pulsating noise did not go away even after his change which he insisted was the cause. Upon my insistence he agreed to listen to the pulsating noise and we went to my basement. His diagnosis was that my water meter has gone bad. So he called Water Company on my behalf and charged me $155 for changing two ballcock valves in my toilets which were not the cause of the problem. The water company guy came in and changed my water meter with a new one. The problem still did not go away. I called Bruce back and told him the problem is still there. He still thought the new water meter may be bad. Then he thought may be my Pressure Regulating Valve is bad and he wanted another $250 to change it and started pressuring me on the phone that the price will go up if I did not have him changed right now and then. This made me very mad and I hung up the phone. Now I??m out of $155 and problem still there.

I called another plumber and the first thing he did was hooked up pressure gauges and confirmed that my Pressure Reducing valve was bad. This is what I suspected from very beginning and told Bruce about it but he did not listen to me. This what Bruce should have done I was told by many people.

Here is what my experience with Bruce Ginsburg was.

- He has poor diagnosing skills.
- He wants to do unrelated repairs first so he can stick you with extra bill.
- He has no respect for customers and was very rude on the phone the second time.

Bruce does excellent plumbing work. He keeps his appointments and has respect for his clients and their homes. He is the plumbing contractor for emergency and routine work at the King of Prussia Mall.
