He was unprofessional. I was in pain and he told me "I couldn't be". He did two root canals, and was bothered that I was nervous. Dr. Richard Eidelson, may have many degrees and participated in programs that further one's career, but he can be a HORRIBLE dentist.

I recently had some cosmetic procedures performed by Dr. Eidelson. He and his staff were very courteous and reassuring during the 2 months of appointments. The only draw back is Center City Phila. parking. It is terrible.

I had such a fear of dentist. I searched, and searched, and forced myself to go only when I had a problem. I'm glad I found Dr. Eidelson. I highly recommend this office to anyone with a fear of dentist, or someone that is looking for a new place. Dr. Eidelson and his staff are great; they all make you feel right at home. The office staff and Dr. Eidelson make you feel comfortable and not intimidated or scared. I wouldn't go anywhere else! You have to try it for yourself
Pros: beautiful office, great staff, flexible times

I will not go anywhere else!
Coming in to see Dr. Eidelson, you are greated by great staff. The office is beautiful and by far the most unique office I have been too. Just like you would expect to wait at a doctor's office, you may wait in a dental office. I have had to wait at other offices that are not as nice as it is at Dr. Eidelson's office. Dr. Eidelson seems to take his time and sees each patient individually. He took time to develop my x-rays, review them, and once he entered the room he was ready to discuss what he saw and how we can do treatment in phases to work in correcting my problems. I really appreciated him taking his time and explaining what he saw. I felt very comfortable and not intimidated like I have felt in the past at other dental offices. I didn't feel like he wanted to jump in and run up a bill. We discussed approx how much my dental insurance covered for the fillings and routine work and we discussed my approx out of pocket payment and payment options. I even received a follow up call after long scheduled visits! I ended up financed Lumineers through care credit and absolutely love my smile. I constantly receive compliments on my smile.
The office was clean and spacious. I highly recommend this office to everyone! It is clear that Dr. Eidelson loves dentistry. He's artistic and does amazing cosmetics-- I LOVE MY LUMINEERS! Heather takes her time when cleaning my teeth and doesn't rush me through like my last dental office did. The staff is great, the office is great, and most importantly, Dr Eidelson is great! He makes you feel like an old friend.
Pros: location, office environment, staff, office hrs, financing

I had to wait nearly an hour just to get an Xray and then wait another half hour for the assistant and the Dr. to come in and go over the Xrays. The Dr. kept going off of the subject and kept telling me that he would be back in 10 minutes but didn't come back for a half hour! Then he proceeded to tell me I needed a special procedure done and kept telling the secretary to make an appointment for me. There was no one else in the office. There should be no reason for me to wait that long for an Xray.
He kept pressuring me and I was completely uncomfortable in his office. Will never go there again.

I've been under Dr. Eidelson's care for a year and a half. In the 18 months that I have been under his care I have been able to regain my confidence, I think the last time I smiled so hard was when I had my baby teeth. I have always been extremely self conscious about my smile but that has all changed in a very little time. After a consultation With Dr. Eidelson I began using invisalign and have had amazing results! Due to insurance purposes I hadn't been to the dentist in years before coming to Dr. Eidelson. He has been extremely patient with me and has done significant work on my teeth and has over all improved my oral health significantly.
His staff is amazing! They really make you feel at home. They are very flexible with thier hours, extremely personable and over all very caring people. They work well as a team and make going to the dentist feel like a visit with old friends. I recommend this dental office to anyone and everyone. And I thank Dr. Eidelson and his staff for all they have done to make me feel so great about my smile!
Pros: Office ambiance! Great Staff! Great dental equipment! Love the massage chair!
Cons: Parking (better off taking a train or if you work near center city take a taxi or walk)

Approxiamately 3 years ago, I was having dental problems. With two cracked tooth and in alot of pain...I kept putting off seeing a dentist due to not only dental fear but of my busy work schedule. It got to the point where it was unbearable! I searched for a dentist that would fit me in their busy schedule according to my busy schedule. Dr. Eidelsen was the only dentist to care enough to contact me and schedule me that evening, after hours. Both Dr. Eidelsen and his assistant waited...when I arrived, they took care of me with care and concern. They were very professional and by the time I left the office I was pain free and had forgotten about my dental fear. Cleanliness and excellent patient service along with their professionalism is what hooked me. Since then, I have had 2 implants and a root canal. I was very concerned of my appearance between the implants and Dr. Eidelsen filled the gaps with a temporary that looked like the finished product. Dr. Eidelsen takes pride on his workmanship. There is no mistake that he enjoys what he does...my office visits are enjoyable... the staff is great!. Dr. Eidelsen discussed my case in a discreet and professional manner. I have referred him to co-workers at corporate as the best in dentistry and beyond.
Pros: Professional, caring and confidential. Doctors are positively personable and compassionate
Cons: Parking

Dr. Eidelson is an excellent dentist who truly cares about his patients. I was referred to Dr. Eidelson because I was in constant pain and after several visits with my previous dentist no solution was reached. The first time I walked into his office I was very nervous, but that quickly changed the moment I spoke to him. Not only was he able to fix the problem and eliminate the pain, he created a treatment plan for me to avoid future problems. I even got a call from him at home the evening of my first appointment to check on me. He has a way of effortlessly making you feel that you are his only patient. He never rushes you and explains every detail of your treatment so that you always know what is going on. My son was in terrible pain one day and I called Dr. Eidelson. He met us at his office even though he was closed that day and he referred us to an Endodontist nearby. Dr. Eidelson personally walked us over and introduced us to him. My son was in such pain, so frightened and upset that the Endodontist would not treat him. Dr. Eidelson took my son back to his office, talked to him very calmly, told him he needed a root canal and promised he would not hurt him. He showed my son how he would get him numb using a technique without a needle. Dr. Eidelson performed the root canal, fixed the problem, and my son experienced no pain. Needless to say, my son has remained his patient. When it was time for my son to get braces, Dr. Eidelson referred and accompanied us to the initial orthodontist visit. Talk about personally caring about your patients! My husband is also a patient of Dr. Eidelson and has experienced the same level of personal care. Dr. Eidelson is constantly learning new techniques and is genuinely excited about bringing all of the new procedures and technology to his patients. His constant focus is the patient?s best interest and he always gives 150%! You will be hard pressed to find another dentist who will offer you that level of care.
Pros: Professional, Caring, Accommodating Hours, Stands by His Work
Cons: None

I saw Dr. Eidelson this summer and I have to be honest about my experience--I was disappointed. He went over my x-rays with me in the waiting room in front of several other patients and while working on my teeth, he chatted about anxiety-filled "difficult" patients he had seen that morning in a derogatory way (using their full names). Needless to say, I wasn't impressed with his professionalism--especially since I'm a med student and am familiar with HIPPA laws. He also seemed very scattered and flighty...He has a nice personality, but I wasn't pleased with his dentistry, so I never went back.

I've been in center city about two years and had been looking for a new dentist. I found Dr. Eidelson on Citysearch and was impressed with his experience and patient testimonials. Now it's my turn to give a testimonial.
I went to the doctor this morning with an emergency repair to my badly chipped two front teeth. He took me right away and did the repair by noon, with such skill that It is impossible to tell there was any problem. This was my second visit to Dr. Eidelson and I consider myself fortunate to have found him. He is frank and honest in his evaluation of my dental problems; he's considerate of my financial situation, and has a great personality to boot! I cannot finish before complimenting his friendly and considerate staff as well.
Pros: There's only one Dr. Eidelson
Cons: There's only one Dr. Eidelson

I had originally contacted Dr. Eidelson because I had an extremely painful toothache. Much to my relief, he was very accommodating and was able to see me first thing in the morning. I get very anxious when I have to go the dentist. Dr. Eidelson and his staff were very patient with me, and were able to calm me down and fix my problem with NO PAIN at all. I was always afraid of going to the dentist, but not anymore. Dr. Eidelson works with you and whatever your situation is and makes sure that your care isn?t compromised.
Pros: Personable, Latest Technology, Great Staff

Dr. Eidleson has shown me that he is a man of integrity and has taken amazing care of me. In three years he has shown me his inspiration and dedication to his craft & that he saw me as a canvas and wanted his work to be displayed in the best of lights, not half done. (i tell him he practices dental nerdestry) More so, he wanted to actually fix my problem, and not put a band aid on it. My jaw is misaligned and it was causing the cavities in my mouth, so we worked together on what i was comfortable with and i was able to get Invisalign to help address the misalignment of my teeth as i was not willing to wear braces.
The work he couldn't do, such as the 3 root canals in my mouth and the removal of my wisdom teeth he sent me to people who were just as inspiring.
I have had multiple crowns done in Dr. Eidlesons office using the CEREC technology where i wait for 15 minutes and he's put a crown in. I've had temporary crowns in that look like real teeth while i waited for permanents. I had the worst bleeding gums ever and now they are completely healthy. My crazy smile is now straight and aligned due to his skill at Invisalign technology.
The office is warm and inviting, the walls arent hospital white but a warm earthy tone. The waiting area is comfortable and a place where you think you're hanging out at a coffee shop. The rooms are comfortable and all have amazing views of the city to distract you. His staff are like family and greet you as such. Dr. Eidleson travels to conferences to know the best practices, he was a professor at Temple's School of Dentistry, is a Fellow in the Dental world, a distinction bestowed on very few dentists. He uses a lot of technology. You can see how inspired and excited he is about working with people.
Just be ready to laugh, his sense of humor is my favorite attribute.
Pros: technology, environment, location, staff, patience, skill, knowledge on latest dentistry
Cons: can come off distracted or flighty, very up front about cost
