We went to Transit last night for a night of fun dancing. When we arrived, we headed straight for the ATM to get money for the cover. While there, the people behind us were complaining that the bouncers were changing the amount of the cover for different people. Already not a great sign, but whatever. We went in and were dancing as a group on the crowded dance floor, having a good time, making friends with the group of girls next to us. All of a sudden, one of the bouncers works his way through the crowd, grabs my friend and escorts him out with no explanation. We had been there less than an hour and only had one drink. I chased after them to find out what was going on, and one of the other bouncers at the side door told me he was kicked out "for pouring his drink on a girl". This was ridiculous and totally made up. My friend had already finished his drink, did not spill on anyone, and no one around us said anything or complained to us in any way. It became very apparent that my friend was singled out for being gay and the bouncers made up this lame, vague excuse. It was literally the strangest experience of my life. I'm not sure that this review will convince anyone not to go there but felt that it was really important to let people know about this so they can decide for themselves.

Pros: Nice space

Cons: Staff (intolderant and rude)

Transit is a pretty sweet spot to go dance they have many rooms to dance in several bars( on for like every floor) Many rooms to dance in, its easy to lose a friend on a crowded night there. They have nice events when they place drum and base and other music. they get DJs from all over to come spin at the special events, and its a over all good vibe there.

THIS PLACE IS AWFUL!!! If you made it past the 12th grade, this place is NOT for you. If you look like you have some money, they will charge you more; consider it a donation to the homeless. If you are not promiscuous, this place is NOT for you. It was DIRTY, UNPROFESSIONAL, and STRAIGHT UP NASTY!! NEVER EVER GO TO TRANSIT. I was there on 5/25 and will make sure everyone sees the bad reviews becuase I didn't have that advantage. THE WORST PLACE IN PHILLY!

Two dollar tuesdays are nice. The music selection is decent and the atomosphere is alright if you are trying to find someone to chill with. There are two rooms. The upstairs is usually a mix of dirty south meets the northeast and the downstairs has another bar with decent reggae music.

If your looking for a place that doesnot discriminat this is the place to be, this is the place to party at. on Friday nite, Salsa nite. Hotter than ever. Music always pumpin' in all 3 rooms. Saturday nite, wall to wall. This is definitely one of the hottest spots in Chicago. you can't miss it. If your in town you need to make this your first weekend party Spot.....

I've only been here during their 'Making Time' parties, so base my opinion off that. Absolutely crazy throw-downs, where there's nothing but feel-good, possibly drugged up dancing crowds of people. If you can stand being sandwhiched between fashionistas, and like to dance to all sorts of music (with plenty of floors to choose from) I highly recommend. The venue itself feels like a decaying palace. Drinks can be really pricey and it's a fight to the bar when you want one at it's peak, so either make it for the early open bar (which ends earlier then advertised normally) or have a hearty pre-game.

Pros: Great Dance Spot, Great Atmosphere

Cons: Pricey Drinks, Crowd Impedes Getting Pricey Drinks (Expect a Wait for Bar)

.

Too pricy even for someone with a lot of deposable income such as myself.

Was there 12/15. Great place with lots of rooms to get lost in. Music was decent, not enough to get the mood going though. Place was surprisingly empty at 2am, even though people keep saying it gets packed in there. If this place was in Jersey, it would be mobbed! Very diverse crowd...age and style. Drinks way overpriced, it's not NYC. Staff was extremely courteous, especially guys at the door. Would go back though...

Pros: huge, variety in music, friendly staff

Cons: expensive, ok house music, small crowd

Transit is definitely a unique club in one of the most up and coming nightlife districts in Philadelphia.

They are bringing in grammy winning Deep Dish on Thanksgiving Eve, November 27th, 2002 and it open TIL 8AM!

I go to Transit on Thursday's and it is hot. The crowd is live and the music is good. There are a couple of floors, so you can move around and get a different vibe. The door charges are decent (for a club), but the drinks are expesive (whichj is usual). And for those who don't know, it's mostly an African American crowd on Thursday's.

I think transit is really hot because I enjoy going to a club that I don't have to be confined in one area. There are variety of music bening played at the same time and that is what I like.
