Dr. Mary Walker doesn't listen and won't learn about a rare condition. Pretends she knows, but when it's obvious she doesn't, she won't find out. Horrible experience.

Deer Lakes Medical is losing 2 patients due to continued rudeness displayed by phone center receptionists and those in the Oakmont office. They are also losing 2 patients due to extremely poor ability to coordinate a refill on

I was a patient of Deer Lakes Family Medical Associates for nearly 30 years. My primary Dr. was Dr. Mary Walker who was, by far, the finest physician that I have ever seen. All of the physicians and PA's that I saw there over the years were top notch.

This facility and its caring staff saw me through the many illnesses, some serious, many routine, but took the greatest of care with my life. I saw them in heartbreak and happiness and each time I knew that everything would be alright. There are very very few places that one can put such confidence in.

It has broken my heart to give these doctors up, but circumstances have put me a too great of a distance from them to travel. If I could have found a way to keep them, I surely would have. As it was, I've traveled the last 15 years over an hour in all weather to see Dr. Walker. They're that good.

Some of the Dr.'s I saw over the years have retired and the medical community is sorrier for that. But the remaining Dr.'s and the newest have followed in the tradition of excellence. I cannot stress enough, if you are looking for a medical group to manage your and your family's health care, you could not make a better choice than Deer Lakes Family Medical.

Sincerely,
Mrs. Sharon R. Miller

Pros: The excellent doctors

Cons: The distance to travel

I have seen several of the Deer Lakes Doctors and was very satisfied with all of them. Dr. Walker is older and a bit stern, but very knowleadgable. She really "tells it like it is" and that was what I needed to hear. Dr. Trombley also is very friendly and took his time when I took my sick daughter to see him. Somebody is also always available at all hours of the night to answer any questions. I really appreciate that and have had bad experience with that in other offices. I would highly recommend any of the doctors in this group to anybody. And they see kids and adults, which is very convenient when you have a family.

Pros: Bedside manner

Cons: sometimes a bit of a wait

Some words have been purposely mispelled, because when I submit my review, it says I used inappropriate words like addictt, bl00d, and drugg. I went to talk to Dr. Trombley about my adddiction to a prescribed drugg, Klonopin. I trusted him and was honest with him about why I first started taking it (panic disorder) and that I was told it was safe. I was on it for 10 years because I couldn't get off it. Trombley didn't want an addictt as a patient, so he pushed me off onto a psychiatrist (who didn't want to deal with it either, so he sent me back to Trombley). I checked into rehab instead. But before that, when I was running out, I called for a refill. It's dangerous to stop taking it abruptly and I was worried I'd end up in ER. I got a call back from a Dr. Martin (I don't even know him) who, for 20 minutes,he degraded and humiliated me out and basically called me a junkie. He asked why I "got myself addictted" and that I better be taking the prescribed dosage or else I was taking an illegal narcotic. I reminded him that it was a doctor who got me hooked and I believed they were safe. The entire time we were on the phone, a female voice was giggling at things he said in the background and I wondered if he were putting on a show for her sake. I hope she was impressed. Not once did Dr. Martin ask about my health or offer advice, because he didn't care. By the way, Klonopin is a benzodiazapine, not a narcotic. Narcotics are opiates like heroin, opium, and morphine. I learned that in Psych 101 my 1st semester at college.. Dr. Martin should know the difference between opiates and benzos after going to med school for all those years. Guess he missed a few classes. I don't recommend Deer Lakes for other reasons too. Every time I went there, I got pushed off onto another doctor because apparently they have little medical expertise of their own. Shell out your healthcare money to doctors who earned it, not Deer Lakes.
