I want to give a good review, honestly I do, but I really can't based on my experience with them in the past, they really was not consistent enough to keep me on a work assignment. I would go through months with no call but I would call

Very low level of professionalism from this small agency. The follow up, follow through with the their clients is hardly existent. Much better agencies in philadelphia that they could learn from.

I've been registered with Philly Temps for quite a few years and have had nothing but great experiences. I noticed some negative reviews and would like to say that they will send you on assignments that you are qualified for and in the pay

I started working with Philly Temps about six months ago. As a freelance writer/musician, I needed some steady work while still reserving time for my other pursuits. Philly Temps has been great at finding me work. At first I bounced around

I was pleased with my experience with Philly Temps. I have never worked for a temp agency before so I did not know what to expect. The staff was very attentive and worked their best to get me work fast. They are also good at following up

I was referred to Phillytemps from a friend who had gotten a direct hire placement. When going through the same service, I was placed with short term (a few days here and there) placements, after explicitly stating my interest in long-term temp-to-perm positions. I was called out of the blue to do them a favor for a placement for 4 hours, that needed me there right that moment. I did it. I was placed with the next company for 3 days. Completed. The company called back and requested me for an additional 3 days the following week. Completed. Then I was placed with a company for a 3 day assignment, two days one week, one day the following week, and variable hours. The week of this assignment was in the middle of the week (a wednesday) therefore rendering me ineligible for any other placements they had. I was told that job was all that was available. Come to find out, it was the only one I was offered. Two weeks go by. No calls for placements. Then again, out of the blue, a call for the same company with an immediate need for a few hours. I declined stating I'll wait for a more long term job. Then I was contacted that evening about a job that was to be for the rest of that week. Due to procrastination, that job offer was rescinded because the client went to another agency. Nothing was available. I find out from a girl in the office, that all the placements had been taken including a placement for over a dozen workers for one company for a longterm assignment. I was told I wasn't offered any of those positions because I'd already been offered another assignment that fell through.

Long story short. Between ineptitude and possible favoritism to who they do and do not want to give the jobs to, your qualifications and skills stand a better chance at being realized at another agency. Phillytemps did not foot the bill, but rather came out very, very disappointing.

Pros: A couple of short term placements.

Cons: Overlooked for actual jobs.

I've worked for several agencies over the years and in all sorts of industries, from office positions to catering, you name it. I have never felt more "at home" than with Philly Temps. Not only have I met and worked with a lot of wonderful people through Philly Temps, but both Liz and Christine are more than friendly and always treat me like a human being, which sadly, can't be said about every other employer I've had in the past. They constantly go above and beyond to accommodate my varying schedule and work with me as best they can. They always manage to find the right position for my needs, which tend to change with the seasons. In the past, other employers have been quick to write me off if I wasn't available for something, yet Philly Temps, if I ask them to keep me in mind for the next position, does exactly that. I trust them to keep me working, and in return, they trust that I will always show up on time and willing to go above and beyond to represent them in a positive manner. If you're looking for them to set you up in a lax job where you get paid $16-20/hour to sit around eating junk food and surfing the internet all day, you're probably going to be unhappy and have negative things to say. But if you can work hard, show up on time and represent them well, they'll keep you working.

Pros: friendly staff who know the business and your name

.

My girlfriend got a good permanent job through them and she introduced me, I have had a great experience working at Philly Temps. They really seem to care about everyone. Working at the convention is long sometimes but you can earn a lot of money in one week and lunch breaks are paid plus it's not hard. And Tracey is really fun to work for, everyone is nice. I have referred a bunch of my friends and they like it a lot too, we work almost every week, it's a good team of people. Overall I like it a lot.

Pros: They keep me working

Cons: Some mornings are EARLY

.

Your qualifications are somewhat irrelevant at this temp agency, and you are unlikely to get paid more than $10 at most per hour (while Philly Temps skims $6 off what was originally a $16/hour pay). DO NOT work at the Conventions -- you get worked like a dog with minimum 10-12 hour shifts, being allotted breaks in ridiculous intervals (15 minutes, 30 minutes), and just generally treated like an idiot. Also, if you *are* working somewhere that you want to stay at, they have to pay a fee in the multiple thousands -- good luck getting someone to agree to that in this economy. You are, in essence, bound and helpless.

Not recommended.

In sum, I would not recommend Philly Temps on the grounds that although they may be able to find employment, they are extremely poor in managing clients. Every time I tried to contact them, they would not properly respond in a timly manner. Also, while there I was rescheduled wihtout being informed, had improper taxes taken out of paychecks, and most importantly was ignored after requesting a new temp position, even after giving them one months notice.

Pros: Non

Cons: Everything

I feel most temp agencies at this time of year probably have a surplus of applicants with the economy as it is, but since I spent hours testing at this agency I deserved more than the misrepresentation Philly Temps provided.

I relocated to Philadelphia and applied for a temp-to-perm position with Philly Temps. I feel my credentials are better than average. I have two university degrees and I've worked in global corporate firms for years. While the staff seems congenial, the reality is they never looked for a position for me.

Perhaps it's a race issue, but I've worked in the corporate world long enough to realize it shouldn't be an issue to land a $14 an hour temp position.

They informed me on the interview there were two positions available within the $14 -$18 range. I contacted them every three days as a followup. On my first call I was informed the recruiter was reviewing my resume, although she reviewed it during our interview and when I submitted it several days before I entered their office for testing. The second call indicated my resume as forwarded to a potential employer. Five days later, the recruiter is suddenly in meetings when I call.

When I entered their facility, three staff persons couldn't log into the testing system, which is "prove it." The testing system is more than seven years old and at times doesn't permit you to use typical microsoft shortcuts for answers so it scores inaccurately. They also stated their computers are old, when I submitted a PDF as a resume, I was asked to resubmit a word doc because their systems wouldn't read PDFs.

It's a matter of simple economics. All temp agencies are profit/loss driven and if a person remotely will fit a position, they'll fill it because it's money in their pockets. Based on the lack of response for qualified people who wish to work I would not recommend PhIlly Temps as a reputable agency.

Cons: Couldn't deliver services.

Philly Temps and Perm, located in the heart of Philadelphia, are the only and main reason why I have accomplished so much since graduating from VA Tech in Geography and Computer Science back in December 2006. I moved to the Philadelphia area in August 2007. I found a very low paying job until I found a career. September 13th, a group of Angels called me. They were Philly Temps. The owner informed me that she found my resume impressive online using a popular career searching tool. I came in for a screening and interview, and had placement that week. Not by one company, but two. One position was a dream job, living the life like Anne Hathaway in Devil Wears Prada. Me being very adaptable and versatile to any environment, I was up for anything. This position wouldn't start for another 3 weeks, so although things were exciting, I really needed a job that pays for my way of living. The NEXT day, the owner called me stating that there is a position of a lifetime as a credit analyst and investigator. Meanwhile, I have no background in financing or economics, but I took the assignment. Two months after the assignment, I became permanent, and was loved by every person in my company, being the key person to elevate this new company's turn around rates on loan payments from 30% to 71 %. I was the key role in turning deals over to get the approval or decline stamp. Unfortunately, on March 27th, the company dismissed all entry and mid level staff due to the declining economy. I had a great experience and gained lots of experience that would take me to the next position that I currently work for, also found by Philly Temps after 30 days of idleness. The position I currently am assigned to is retail leasing and real estate, and they wanted me permanent after 1 week. My work ethics carried over from the last career but I owe the beginning of my independent and adult life to Philly Temps. The secretary is wonderful and pleasant and the staffing crew is amazing.

Pros: Never stop working to find you an assignment, Loyal, Dedicated, Intuitive on Your Goals, Work for YOU.

Cons: Kinda wish some benefits were offered, especially direct deposit.

Liz & Christine Faville have developed one of the best businesses in the city. They are large enough to handle the big projects, but small enough where you can talk to the owner, if you have a need. The staff is friendly and the candidates are always top notch. We used Philly Temps 3 years ago to fulfill an admin position and that individual is now one of our top loan officers. In fact, she was promoted to Vice President last month. I cannot say enough about PT and their committment to helping business owners grow. We are a lifetime client. Thanks!!!

I had a horrible experience as a temp at PhillyTemps. I was told they had a placement opportunity for me and asked that I call to discuss the details the next week. Of course, I called to follow up at the beginning of the week and was told by a manager that their client was not available because of the holiday. The manager said she would call me the next day after she spoke with the client. Then, no phone call. When I attempted to follow up my calls were blatantly screened and my voicemails were never returned. I was not told until the end of the week by the receptionist that the position had been filled. They could have been up front and honest instead of immature and disrespectful of my time. Some advice, steer clear of this business.
