I held my son's Rehearsal Dinner at Chef Lo's Villa Barolo restaurant on July 24, 2009. This was my first time there, but it certainly won't be my last. Everything about the evening was perfect! There is a wonderful ambience, the staff was extremely pleasant, courteous and met my every need. Now for the food. Absolutely, positively out of this world delicious! Chef Lo goes out of his way to prepare a magnificent feast for his guests. There aren't enough adjectives in the English language to describe Villa Barolo. You simply MUST give the restaurant a try!

I would consider myself to be a semi-expert on Italian restaurants and this place by far outshines the rest in the Philadelphia suburbs. It also comes close to outshining fine Italian restaurants in Philadelphia in its decor, value, quality, wide selection of choices and interesting exotic game and fish. It is not a "red-checkered-tablecloth" type of restaurant like Ralph's or Maggiano's nor is it extremely stuffy like La Famiglia or Vetri. It is a quietly elegant place that gets extremely busy on holidays and on the weekends due to "word-of-mouth" business. I go here every chance I get for special occasions or Sunday dinners with the folks. The only negative is that the service is sometimes (though rarely) spotty and frenetic.
