I was visiting friends for a weekend and we decided to do a girls day and get our nails done. Since I was going to a specific cancer benefit I wanted to have my nails done the color of the cancer I was representing. The color was a teal color that I wanted. When I told the lady that I wanted a teal color she told me that I only had the colors at the top to choose from. They were either the Gellish Polish or The OPI Axxium polishes. They had about 6 colors to choose from from both sets and nothing that represented Teal. Everything was the ordinary colors, Pinks, Reds. I again asked are you sure you don't have anything in a teal color and explained why I wanted teal. She told me no and that I had to choose a color from the top. I didn't care what type of polish I got I just needed a teal color. After debating on what to get I choose an ordinary dark Red Polish.

I've gotten my nails done multiple times with the Gellish Polishes and I know how they do them. First off, I was insulted throughout the entire visit by the manicurist. She kept telling me that my nail length was not good enough for the polish, that I need to get manicures done more often at the salon (I'm not from Pittsburgh and I explained this to her), she told me that my cuticles looked terrible, etc. My friend was getting her nails done too and had gotten a hand massage during her filing, etc. I did not and when she realized that she had forgot she made up some excuse and said that she was do it at the end.

After I finally got done with all the nail filing, etc she proceeded to paint my nails. Everything looked fine however she didn't have my hands in the UV Lamp that long and the polish hadn't dried yet. When she went to do my thumbs my other nails were not dry and the polish smudged and got on my fingers. I pointed this out to her and she told me not to worry that she wasn't done yet. However she was done because all she had to do was add the top coat. That clearly didn't fix my problem. I proceeded to tell her and she told me she couldn't see it. After we were all done I looked at my nails and she had missed HUGE portions of my nails. The tops of my nails aren't painted and the sides of my nails aren't painted. Since she had forgotten to do the hand massage before, she then decides to do the hand massage AFTER I had my nails painted. Keep in mind they weren't all dry because she hadn't put my nails in the lamp for that long. She had only been putting them in for about 30-60 secs. After waiting for my friend who was getting the OPI Axxium polish I noticed there were TONS of teal colors below the "top portion" where I was only allowed to pick from. I asked why she didn't offer me them and she completely ignored me. Since one of my friends was paying I didn't say anything to the receptionist up front since it was clear that no one seemed to care. My other friend paid for her nails (hers were not that great either!) and the prices were wrong on the website and on their brochure. They were going to charge her 5 dollars more. She did get that corrected.

I have never been treated so horrible at a nail salon. This place was overpriced and had horrible service. I would rather spend $15 at a nail salon where they might not speak fantastic English but at least they don't insult their consumers about their nails and paint the nails correctly! I would highly NOT recommend this place. There are far better places with better prices where they don't insult their customers and can paint your nails accurately.

I was desparate for a lip wax one Saturday afternoon and happened to be in the shopping center where this salon is located. I saw the Aveda sign so I knew it was a great place. I took a chance and walked in and was lucky enough to get an appointment. Anita did my brow and lip wax and I was hooked! I've been going there now for over a year and I have never been happier with the results!!! She really takes her time and shapes the brows perfectly. And there is not a hair left on my lip when she's done. Everyone in the salon is nice and welcoming and the prices are great!! Check it out...you'll never go anywhere else!
