Never ever go to this place! I never write reviews but this place was worthy of a horrible review. I ha reservations as 715 sat right away and am currently still waiting for an order. Everything came out separately and the waitress has not checked in in over an hour!! Do NOT ever go here!!!! Tip is automatically included btw!!

VANGO HAS THE WORST SERVICE I HAVE EVER EXPERIENCED!

I usually don't write negative reviews, but I just had to in this case.

I paid $200.00 to book my reservation (which was suppose to be refundable when you arrive). Once I arrived on

The Djs are good, the crowd is ok, the bouncers are horrible and the drinks are overpriced. Do not bother. It is a shame that the door does not even know who is spinning and the attitude is horrendous.

Absolutely rediculus, security staff extremly rude. Asked for management and was refused. Would not recomend unless you trying to spoil your evening. I hope that this will assist management to retrain the staff. If I could give this place

What a disgusting, horribly managed place. I would not recommend this club to anyone unless they enjoy supporting a business in which THE EMPLOYEES ARE PAID IN CASH UNDER THE TABLE. What kind of business would do such a thing!? Well, one with a sleezy prick of an owner who hires unintelligent, incompetent employees who are too naive to realize all that is wrong with getting paid under the table.

We went for a bach. party and wanted to dance. The dj was terrible and played too much slow music and even remixed fast songs so they were slow. So annoying.....it was obvious people were trying to dance on the dance floor but he didn't seem to care and he never looked up to check out the scene.....just smoked his cigarette like a tool. He really was awful at picking out songs to get the vibe going. Couldn't hear the music on he deck either which kind of sucked since that's the coolest part of the bar. The inside upstairs is very tight and hot. The crowd was very questionable as well.........I def would not return here.

IMPORTANT NOTE:
DO NOT EVEN THINK ABOUT GETTING A BOTTLE SERVICE (VIP). We reserved a table with 2 bottle service and was treated like 3rd class average joe. I feel like i got robbed and rapped with bad service and REALLY BAD MUSIC. I do not recommend this place to anyone even if this place was the only place around. I had more fun at the dentist. we had a large group of 15 and they will never go back to this place again. AND ITS VERY, VERY HUMID SWEATING HOT IN THE CLUB ... NO Air Conditioning. Cheap Bastards!

I read that this place was cool and that it was very hard to get up to the sky lounge without a long wait, so we went Sunday at 7:45 to avoid the crowd. The bouncer acted like he wasn't sure he was going to let us in. When we got in we found there to be 0 (zero) nobody in there except the staff. I was in a group of four and we were looking forward to eating out on the roof top ("Sky Lounge"). There were no tables up there only beds and there were two staff members up there alone with the music turned up so high you could not speak. Cool for drinks but we were looking to sit down. We went to the roof top at the Continental and had a great meal. I may go back some day but prob not.

Went there this past weekend on a Saturday night. It's a nice atmosphere but the bouncers are pretty rude. There's a little short thick neck dude that thinks he's head of security. He has a bad attitude no matter what he's doing and he's a total a-hole.The other bouncer is a perve and he told me and my friends he would let us bypass the line to get upstairs if he could "do" the three of us. You do have to wait in line to get upstairs, I assume it's for the exclusivity but when you get up there the whole atmosphere changes. The music is a whole lot better up there and it get's pretty crowded so it's well worth the wait. Tho around 1:00 am they started playing whitney Houston, and Aretha Franklin and even threw in a little MJ. You def. do have to have a drink to get upstairs even though there's a bar up there. The outside deck is really nice and when it's cool they have the heat lamps up. There's a flat screen tv up there and a section for private parties. The only downside is that when they close the doors you can't hear the music but I guess it's good for any conversation you might want to have. I've never had the food so I can't comment on that but drink prices aren't too bad and they do put enough alcohol in them. They have a coat check which is a plus and it's only $2. All in all it's not a horrible place once u get past the bouncers so like I said I would probably go back if I have no other place to go.

Pros: Great music on the second floor . . . in the beginning

Cons: Bouncers are rude

.

Went here 2 weekends ago and the second floor smelled like v0mit. If that wasn't a tell-tale sign to jet, the extremely rude service was. The staff at Vango clearly does not know how to treat its customers. I've never had an experience like this before. They definitely need a lesson in company-client relationships.

Never go to Vango unless you want to be treated poorly as a paying customer.

Not a lot of bars in Philly search your purse before you enter (which is surprising, given this is Philly...). This bar will search your bag-- which was our first red-flag. And you're not allowed to take in water. Even if it's in a SEALED bottle. I always carry water in my purse; health-wise, it's a good idea to have a bottle in-hand. Especially in this place because it takes forever to get some from the bar itself. Confiscating coke and weeding out minors should be a priority over confiscating my bottled water.

People definitely v*mited (CitySearch will not let me type the full word) somewhere on the second floor because it reeked. I guess that's likely to happen on Saturday nights in a lot of bars; but I've never smelled it like that before.

You have to wait in line to get to the roof. And your wait will be longer if you are white. Which is very unfortunate, given the majority of Philly is color-blind.

I recently had a party reservation at a nearby club, which began jerking me around. I decided at the last minute to move my party to Vango. They were very accomodating on short notice. They only required a small deposit, which was credited to my tab the night of the party. They have a huge drink variety and the appetizers were to die for! Check this place out, especially for large parties!

I put a deposit down to have the second floor reserved and a guest list of over 50 people. I distinctly reviewed the terms with them over the phone several times prior to the event. He says "Yeah.. second floor, no wait to get in." The owner, Dia, played dumb when I confronted him that night when the second floor was not reserved and the guest list was not honored. Poor management.... trust me, take your business else where. My friends and I are never going there again.

Was there over the weekend with some of my husbands business associates and ordered a bottle of Vodka. The service was GREAT the whole time we had the bottle as soon as it was gone we were told that we would have to order another bottle or move. It was 1:00 AM at that this point so we decided to just order drinks. The host paid for the first round but said we still had to move. He literally came back in two minutes and said NOW. I am sorry but this is not how you treat someone who just spent $300.00 in your establishment. I will NEVER go back ther eagain and would not recommend it to anyone I know.

Was just at Vango last weekend for a party, and had a blast! The staff was excellant, food was served quickly and was amazing. The sushi was fresh and the best around. Even if you don't like sushi, there is sure to be something on the menu for you. They have a list of cocktails specific to Vango, and I've tried most of them, and I wasn't let down at all. It's really easy to book a private party there, just call or send an email. People friendly, and definately worth a visit.

The skybar is amazing, no matter how cold it is, you have to get upstairs and check it out. No cover charge, which is great. Food was excellant, as were their signature cocktails. The view from the roofdeck was beautiful and I definately recommend checking this place out!

I just hosted an office party this weekend at Vango and was totally impressed. The food was amazing, and the ambiance was sleek and comfortable. The crowd was of the city's finest and the roofdeck overlooks Rittenhouse Square. DJ's were located on both the main floor and the roofdeck, playing both house and hip hop music. With a friendly staff, delicious food, and great atmosphere, how can you go wrong?

I always have a great time at Vango. The atmosphere is relaxed, the food is great, the servers/bartenders talk to you while your waiting for the rest of your party to arrive, and the is no particular dress code. Unlike other places such as Pearl and G Lounge in Rittenhouse,, Vango lets you enter the club if you are wearing sneakers and jeans. And one more thing... there is NO COVER CHARGE! There are two levels, the second level has a SKYBAR with BEDS, partially outside so you can see Philadelphia's beautiful unique sky line while relaxing to great bottle service. I'm am originally from New York and there,a bottle of grey goose vodka ranges from 500-600$ in a nice lounge. At Vango, its only $225. The drinks at the bar are at pretty cheap for the area also. if your visiting or living in Philly, Vango is definitely a place to experience!

Great drink menu, amazing atmosphere! Food is Japanese fusion, and is delicious every time.. Staff is always helpful and I would recommend this place to anyone. The skybar is great for dancing under the stars, to a live DJ, every night! I travel from Allentown frequently just to visit Vango with my friends. I had my bachelorette and birthday party here. The hooked me up with specials for my guests and a cake! Definately worth stopping in!

Let me begin by questioning the outrageously overpriced bottle service. If an establishment is going to charge $200 for a lukewarm bottle of Veuve, at least make sure the glasses are 1)devoid of lipstick 2)not chipped and 3) full.If the bartender gives herself a 20% gratuity for this service should she not fill the glasses at least once?Smoking is allowed.Even by the bartender BEHIND the bar.Why exactly did the genius cut holes in the wall for Goose only to have the labels facing away.Perhaps because Grey Goose has the sense to NOT want to be associated with Vango.Venture to the roof deck, if you can get past the bouncer that is, to a virtually vacant upstairs. But wait!!You MUST have a drink in hand(or a bottled water) to get past the bouncer.Sorry, we just finished our champagne at the bar and dropped $240, but I need a drink in hand???At last, the promised land, for what my friend has convinced me must be a place of gold and candy. We waited in line downstairs to immediately find a place at the bar.Strange to have to wait in line.Thirty or so guests were out on the deck.Create a line and there must be something wonderful everyone is waiting for, right? Now don't judge me too harshly, but Irish Car bombs were ordered.I know, I know. For those of you who have had them, this concoction usually takes two hands one to hold the Guinness and one to hold the shot of Baileys/whiskey.Into the Guinness goes the Bailey's, glass and all. The glass doesn't fit in the beer glass and only manages to spill beer on my dress.Don't serve it if you don't have the glassware to accommodate the drink. After ordering a round of drinks, my friend decided she did not like her Midori Margarita. Now, I love margaritas, and Midori being introduced into the drink sounds disgusting to me, but it was on the menu as a specialty drink.I have never sent a drink back, but when I asked the bartender if she could get my friend something else. No, was her answer because the owner was watching.

Last Sunday, I invited my friends to Vango for a graduation party. We are actually from New York, so after reading in Market Watch magazine that Vango was one of the best places in America, I was quickly convinced to make the trip down to Philly. It was absolutely a wonderful experience and it truly met our expectations. The various sushi dishes were just right for the raw meat lovers and even for my vegetarian friends. The mixed drinks and the wine were at a very reasonable price. The server recommended their homemade infused vodka which was delectable. My favorite one was the mango-infused. It sparked up the unique experience on the roof back; the view reminded me of the lighted night views back in New York. The music was incredible. Vango featured 6 dj's that night, each who presented their own style of music. All my friends had a blast especially since their different styles of music were met. The servers were very welcoming and informative. I highly recommend Vango to anyone whose looking for a memorable experience.

I was excited about trying this place out. We sat on the upper outside deck, which has a great view - but the lighting was horrible. It was pitch black w/ no candles or anything. You couldn't see your food to eat. There need to be more tables and seating options out there, plus soft lighting - then it would be nice.

our server was super nice! But the food was just very lacking - I had sushi and it was no good. The bar downstairs seemed pretty cool. But seems like they didn't spend much remodeling this place. My overall impression - seems like its geared towards late night cocktails - not food!!!
