More about The Dentistry

The Dentistry has been serving Western Pennsylvania for nearly 30 years. Providing cosmetic dentistry, sedation dentistry, and dentistry for kids, our offices have grown with increasing demand for high quality, pain free dentistry. Now holding dentist facilities in Irwin, West Mifflin, Greentree, Natrona Heights, and Wexford, The Dentistry is a qualified team of dental hygienists, oral surgeons, orthodontists, pediatric dentists, and periodontists providing a full range of services. The Dentistry includes dedicated dental hygienists who provide basic teeth cleaning and other preventative dentistry care. General dentists give holistic dental care. Orthodontists can diagnose and treat issues with improper bite placement and jaw alignment that lead to tooth irregularity. Periodontists specialize in gum disease and specialized treatment for healthy gums. Oral surgeons can diagnose and surgically treat both functional and cosmetic problems with mouth, jaw, teeth, and gums. The Dentistry provides dental care for both kids and adults. With a β??cowards welcomeβ? attitude, The Dentistry can help patients manage their anxiety with dentist visits using sedation dentistry. Candidates for sedation dentistry include people who have a lot of fear associated with going to the dentist, whether from a traumatic dental experience or otherwise. Often, patients hate needles, shots, or the noises, smells, and tastes associated with dental care. Other people have difficulty with numbing agents, over-active gag reflexes, very sensitive teeth, or other complex dental problems. Many people with disabilities and other conditions make dental treatment difficult, while still others have tight time frames and use sedation dentistry to allow lengthy care procedures to be completed in less time. Depending on your reason for trying sedation dentistry, several different avenues can be pursued. For those with a low-level of fear, Nitrous Oxide, commonly called β??laughing gas,β? can help ease anxiety. The mild sedative is inhaled and provides a pleasant, tingling sensation. Paired with relaxing music, patients remain aware of their surroundings but less affected by their fears. People who need additional help with trips to the dentist may be prescribed an oral sedative pill to take before their appointment. The sedative will make you drowsy, but won't put you completely to sleep. The sensation of relaxation is effective, but also requires patients to bring an escort to drive them home. Combining Nitrous Oxide and an oral sedative is the third level of calming dentist apprehension. Still not putting patients completely to sleep, the drowsiness and decreased awareness relaxes most aversions. This method also requires an escort. Finally, for patients that have severe issues with the dentist, The Dentistry can prove intravenous sedation or anesthesia while implementing dental care. A board certified anesthesiologist will administer IV sedation to put you to sleep. Afterwards, patients have very little or no memory at all of the appointment. While calming you to the point of a deep sleep, recovery is usually rapid and patients are sent home with their escort quickly. Patients will begin their journey to a healthier, more beautiful smile with an initial oral examination. Through careful examination, charting, periodontal probing, and x-rays, dentists can accurately make diagnoses and treatment recommendations. Many patients come in complaining of tooth pain, while others request professional teeth whitening options. Our pain free dental service options span cosmetic dentistry, oral surgery, pediatric dentistry, orthodontia, periodontal dentistry, and preventative dentistry. The Dentistry offers basic teeth cleaning, teeth bonding, cosmetic tooth contouring, crowns and bridges, standard and speciality dentures, cosmetic fillings, gum grafts, treatment of excessive or uneven gums, dental implants, veneers, lumineers, professional whitening, braces, Invisalign and other orthodontia, sealants, root canal therapy, tooth extractions, scaling and root planing, root canal therapy, flap surgery, TMJ and other jaw disorder treatment, and maxillo-facial surgery. These services range from one day, in-and-out procedures to invasive surgery. But, all will improve the oral health and look of your smile. For example, dental implants attach a synthetic material that looks and feel natural to the jawbone where the roots are normally present. Then, it can be used as a foundation for an artificial tooth, permanent bridge, or even dentures. Professional teeth whitening, on the other hand, restores the brilliance of strained, dull, or discolored teeth affected from caffeine, tobacco, traumatic injury, and medications. A safe and effective dentist-administered teeth whitening is better for your overall oral health than over-the-counter treatments, and can be done pain-free in our office. The Dentistry prides themselves in providing pain-free cosmetic dentistry to the Pittsburgh area. With a wide range of services and sedation options, your smile is ready to begin its transformation.
