.

I went to Careworks on a day when I was sick but my doctor's office was closed. It takes a lot to get me to seek out medical attention but on this particular day I felt so poorly, I was willing to take a chance on someone new if it meant getting some help.

The woman at the desk seemed disinterested at best. She asked me what was wrong and I told her I thought I had a sinus infection. (I am a nurse, but don't usually tell other medical people that info for fear of making them feel awkward or on guard around me.)

She then asked me what color my mucus was. I told her that the little bit that was actually coming out was clear but that most of it was still in my head which was, in my opinion, causing the blinding headache I was having.

I was then told that she didn't need to examine me, that because my mucus was clear I had a virus and she couldn't do anything for me. I left, furiously annoyed with them, and waited until I could get an appointment with my own doctor who actually took the time to look in my ears and nose and see that I did, in fact, need antibiotics.

I feel this office is dangerous and not worth wasting your time visiting. I could have had any number of things wrong with me but they dismissed me after one question.

Either wait it out and see your regular doctor or find another emergent center but don't use Careworks if you know what's good for you.
