My family and I just went camping here in tents over Labor Day weekend 2010. We were surprised to find out just how close each site was to each other (approx. 30-40 ft. apart). We also were dissatisfied with the fact that a lot of the camping sites had a stone gravel base instead of the forest floor. If you're in a camper or pop-up, no problem. But those that are in tents, it's not too comfortable at night. It also detracts from the "camping in the woods" feel. Didn't visit their shower house but the bathrooms were decent. Might want to bring your own handsoap since they ran out and didn't replace it for more than 24 hrs. Check in and out is super easy. In the summer months, they have a nice pool. We hiked on a trail near the pool and public picnic area. The rate is approx. $22/night. They say only 5 adults per site but we had 6 and no one said anything to us. Also they say only 1 car per site but we had 2 and there was enough room to park the 2nd car in off the main road. They have programmed several hr. hikes with a guide or Discovery Channel nature shows in the evenings at the amphitheater. Overall, good experience. If you're from out of town, check out nearby Gettysburg. It's only 15 miles away.
