The only Colombian restaurant and night club you need to visit in the city. The restaurant is open 7 days a week and the night club is open Thursday thru Saturday. Come see what the excitement is all about.
I want to write bad comment about the Night Club. I made reservations for $100.00 birthday pckg. that according the lady on the phone included half prize entrance for the guests in the party, a bottle of champagne, table decorations and a piece of cake. When we got there, they said that after 11:00 there was discount for entrance, then the waitress came and I asked her where was the FREE BOTTLE and she said that you have to BUY a bottle first. Besides the table was not decorated and we had to wait for it.The waitress was not too pleasant either. Why don' t they explain everything over the phone. I would get there early and just got a free table and not paid all that money for nothing, plus we have to pay the whole entrance fee. The person that collects the money for the entrance was rude and nasty.
I think is false advertisement that they promise something that they really don't offer. I reserved tables in other night clubs just to have it and they don't charge anything. People are going to drink anyway and they are going to spend money.

My husband probably would give Tierra Colombiana four stars, but he's not writing this review. I factor ambiance into a rating and there isn't a great deal of that at Tierra.. It's a very large restaurant with a number of rooms, all of them bustling with the chatter of casually clad diners. Many speak Spanish and the noise can get a bit overwhelming. This is not a restaurant for quiet dining.
Portions are more than ample and prices are very reasonable. The menu is very extensive and the food is good, not great. The octopus salad, however, is excellent.
Just off the Roosevelt Boulevard, Tierra Colombiana isn't in the greatest neighborhood in Philadelphia, but certainly is far from what I'd call dangerous. There's free parking across the street in a lot in front of a chain drugstore.

Worth the risk...

This is an excellent place to get good, affordable and, most importantly, authentic Latin food. The menu draws from a variety of Latin cuisines, mainly Columbian, Cuban and Puerto Rican. The Argentinian-style steak was delicious. My boyfriend is Cuban, so we were particularly pleased with the quality of the croquetas: tasty and traditional. He was also especially happy that they had batidos, as they are rare back home in California. The portions are large, giving ample opportunity for an at-home sequel if you aren't compelled to eat until its gone.
The service was fair; a little slow, but pleasant. Nothing to inhibit enjoyment.
Don't let the bad neighborhood deter you from visiting. The bus goes right to the restaurant and the activity of the place and the ample lighting are comforting. Just don't get lost.

I just ordered the fish. They gave me good bread, tasty salad, rice, black beans, plantains. The fish was very tasty (baked). Next time I'll tell them to hold the butter and the salt a little. The fresh juices are excellent (i had fresh squeezed orange). Parking is tough.

I went again, soup and meat. Soup was outstanding flavor. One minus was that the flowers had passsed their expiration date and were a little smelly. Nothing to diminish the flavor of the food but a little annoying.
Pros: i forgot the decoration was very nice. Orchids and flowers all over the place
Cons: They had some type of lily that had expired and smelled a little.

Best Mofongo!! and best Mojito!!!

I like the Mofongo and the Mojito, but I do not Know why the menu said Cuban Food, when is really Puertorrican Food.
Mofongo, Ara?itas, Tostones, Arroz con Pollo, Biftec Encebollado, Asopao de Camarones, Arroz con Camarones, Higado Encebollado, Chuleta Frita, Pernil, Chicharrones de Pollo, Casquitos de Guayaba con queso, Flan, Rellenos de papas, ect. sound that you are in a Puertorrican Restaurant. Why do the owners of Tierra Colombiana, refer to all as Cuban Dishes ????

Great food, nice environment, good service. Unfortunately, parking in a bit tough, and the neightborhood is a bit scary after hours.
