My infant began attending little munchkins in Jan 2011. I could not have picked a worse daycare.
I started feeling uncomfortable during my trial period but chalked it up to normal anxieties about sending her to daycare- big mistake!
My child only attended 3 days before I had no choice but to pull her out. During that time I observed the following: Every time I called or showed up, my child was strapped in a bouncy seat. When I asked whether or not she had tummy time I was simpley told no.
At one time, I observed a child given a bottle to feed himself. When he began crying because he could not hold the bottle, it was propped up with a blanket.
Upon entering the infant room on my childs second day, one teacher was sitting in a chair eating and the 2nd teacher was sitting on top of a table with headphones on. (of course once again, every child was strapped into some form of equipment). It was also on this day that I realized I could not believe anything they had written on my childs daily report. I showed up at 2:50 and asked why she had not yet been given her 2:00 bottle. The response I got was that she was sleeping, yet a diaper change was documented at 2:00 on her daily sheet.
On my last day entering the center, a group of "teachers" were sitting in the hallway polishing thier nails and the center smelled of acetone.
It was after I decided to pull my child out that I discovered just how negligent the center really is. When I was given back the supplies I had provided at the beginning of the week, all of her jar food had been returned to me. They had not been feeding her.
Upon discussing these issues with the centers director and providing her a written list of my observations, my huband was told "you are only seeing and hearing what you want to." Maybe this director should open her eyes to what is going on at her center.
My child is now very happy in a new daycare, however I still feel bad knowing that the infants at little munchkins are not receiving the care that they deserve.

My daughter went to Little Munchkins and she definitely had a leg up on the other kids when she started school. They are kind and compassionate and they teach kids everything they need plus more to start Kindergarten confidently. It is a very safe happy place for your child to learn.
