This is my first review of a restaurant but it was so wonderful that I have to let evryone one know of this marvelous gem in Milwaukee! I cannot say enough wonderful things about Yaffa Restaurant and Lounge. The atmosphere is beautiful, warm, and inviting with its' wonderful decor and fireplace. I have been there twice - once when it first opened and on Friday, 2/15/08. Both times the food was wonderful.

Friday (2/15/08) my husband and I had calamarie for an appetizer that was delicious. We both had the Kobe steak - that left us dreaming about it the next day! The veggie sides were caramelized brussel sprouts and mashed potatoes - delicious! We savored every bite of our meal. The dessert was a cookie-like tart (sorry Mr Chef - can't remember what it is called) filled with chocolate ganache that left your mouth watering! On the dessert plate was also a sauce made with roses - delectable!

I ordered their Very Dirty Martini - it was the best. Had to find out what it was made with - rosemary-infused vodka!! Again, I just smile when I think of that wonderful drink! How can one martini be so superior to others!!

My husband and I had tickets to see The Lion King and went to Yaffa for dinner before hand. It was a wonderful experience all the way around. We thoroughly enjoyed The Lion King, but I think we talk about our dinner more than the play which was terrific.

Thank you owner/chef John Chittko and your wonderful staff for contributing to a memorable evening.
