Reviews read before trip were good. They would not acomodate my request for parking my vehicle in the only shade on the property. We arrived, parked to the front side of a 2-car garage near the gift shop. We did not block access to the garage and was far off to the side of the parking lot. I was proactive and advised the young lady in charge where I parked and was briskly told that the owners do not allow that so I must move. I said I have 2 small dogs and cannot leave the vehicle running for an hour during the tour. She offered that we put them in our kennels inside the gift shop in a room off to the side. There was a young children school bus tour just ahead of us and another having lunch outside on lawn that would follow. I explained the dogs may react to the noise of children coming into the gift shop and may bark some. She said that would not work so I would need to move my vehicle. After informing my wife, outside, I returned for one more gentle request that she could make an exception. That was met with 10 seconds silence and then another brisk no. Many (most!) seniors travel with pets these days and this place is definately NOT PET FRIENDLY. You have been warned. We traveled over 400 miles from Des Moines to visit this cave and other places around western Wisconson. This ruined part of our day and we will never return, or recomend, this place. If they paid me $250 for a 2-day round trip with free admission, I would still say NO freeking way! The owners must be a real pain in the butt management team to cause so much fear in their employee to make a business decison. Again, I was very nice and barely asertive in my request. I did the right thing but had I said nothing, the employee would probably not even seen, or noticed, where I had parked.

I've toured Crystal Cave a few times over the years and have enjoyed it. The tours are pretty interesting, and I really enjoyed the part where they turn on a black light to show off the inflorescence of the rocks. I have not gone on the "adventure tour," which is where you crawl through a small passage way. However, I have heard good things about the adventure tour, as long as you can stand the small spaces. Overall, I definitely think that Crystal Cave is a fun place to visit, and they also have some great fudge available in their gift store!

Crystal Cave is just what it says, a cave. It is interesting enough. The tour guides speech was well rehearsed and was a little dry. I am glad that I went once but most likely wouldn't go again.
