Dr. Mark is a very competent and engaging Dr. He listens to what i have to say before he begins his examination. I have seen him on several occasions recently for Acute Bronchitis and later a hairline fracture to my foot. Both visits were fast, efficient and professional. His staff is always helpful and friendly. It is important to have a good relationship with your Dr and with Dr. Mark you feel like family. He did not run any tests that were unnecessary and only prescribed the medications i needed and in generic form per my request. In the end, i got over my bronchitis quickly and my foot has now healed. I wouldn't hesitate to go back tomorrow if i needed to see a Dr. Don't let a few bad reviews cloud your judgement.....every day is not perfect for anyone and we are all only human after all.

I have been going to Dr. Mark for years and I am 90 years old. I contribute my long life to Dr. Mark's good care. His office is friendly, caring and make me feel as though I couldn't find a more knowledgable, safer place to be. I feel as though God led me to Doctor Mark so I would be well taken care of. I am here till the end!

Dr. Mark and his staff make my travel to Murfreesboro from Memphis worth the trip. Dr. Mark really takes his time to listen to my needs and concerns. His office is very neat and clean and his staff is very professional when calling to remind me of upcoming appointments or calling with test results. Though there are many doctors in my new hometown of Memphis, I appreciate the genuine care I receive from Dr. Mark and his staff and I will continue to make the trips to Murfreesboro as long as they are needed to keep me healthy!

I've been going to Dr. Josovitz for 10 years. He is professional, brilliant and ethical. He post's scriptures on his white board and has prayed with members of my family during difficult diagnosis. Its a shame that disgruntled employees feel they have to lash out. He should sue them. HE's an AMAZING Dr. who really cares for his patients. Outstanding Doctor.

I find Dr. Mark to be very thorough. He is very caring about his patients. Whenever I visit there, I can tell their staff works very hard to make things flow smoothly. They are friendly and treat you like family. I do not mind waiting on a doctor that obviously everyone else likes for when I visit there, they are almost always a full house. I have met some very fine people in the waiting room who brag about having been with Dr. Mark for years. He has always met my every need and taken very good care of me so I plan to be with him for many years to come also.

First let me save you the trip as well as the gas of going to Stones River Medical Center. In my whole life I've never came across at doctors office let alone a docotor thats so terrible in my enitire life!! Dr. MArk sees a average of 120 patients a day. That means he is in a room for no more than 2 minutes with each patient! You will only talk to the nurses. He will order every test they have in house so that they can bill your insurance lots of money and they dont care if you are self pay! Even if you go for a simple cold he will have you come back every few days forever!!! He doesn't care about you health only how much money he can get out of you! DR. MARK HAS HAD HIS MEDICAL LISENSE TAKEN FOR DRINKING AND DRUGING WHILE AT WORK WHILE SEEING PATIENTS! NOW HE HAS TO TAKE DRUG AND ALCOHOL TEST WEEKLY BY ANOTHER DOCTOR! DO YOU WANT TO SEE A DOCTOR WITH A DRUG PROBLEM? I DON'T! THE WORST THING OF ALL IS ONE DAY I WAS LEAVING AND I SEEN DR. MARK COME OUT OF A EXAM ROOM WITH A HARD ON AND THE LADY PATIENTS BREAST WHERE OUT OF HER SHIRT!!!! WHAT WAS GOING ON IN THERE? IT SURE WASN'T HIS WIFE! HE HAS SEX WITH HIS STAFF AND PATIENTS!! NEVER SEEN ANYTHING LIKE IT BEFORE!!!!You will sit all day waiting for your appointment and if one of their favorites comes in way after you they will get to walk right back. THE OFFICE MANAGER CHRISTIE COVERS HIS MESS UPS AND LIES FOR HIM! I WOULD GO THERE AGAIN IF I WAS DIEING AND HE WAS THE LAST DOCTOR IN THE WORLD!

First, let me say, Jill is amazing! She knows me by name even with no chart. She remembers me, my name, why I was last in and what we did. I had an appt right after the two offices combined. The charts had not been brought over yet and honestly the office was complete chaos. The nurse was weighing me when Jill came over, called me by name and began asking me how things were and if the meds she had given me were helping. I must say I was impressed. I absolutely love Jill, that?s true. She has helped me so much. I only ever came in when I was sick, but she always took wonderful care of me. I had been having issues for years with something else, but was dealing with other offices for that issue. I never really thought about it when I was sick and never even thought to mention it to Jill. The others kept telling me nothing was wrong. Finally, it got to the point I had to have help ASAP. Things were getting scary. Jill took one look at me and said she had a good idea, ran the tests and it was as expected. Years of arguing with others and it took mentioning it once to her! Wish i had thought to do so sooner, but again I only saw her when I was sick and didn't think about that then.\n...And for the bad. The two offices merged. Period. It was much better before. Wait times are horrendous. Jill has always been super about keeping my bill as low as possible ever since I lost my job and my insurance. I pay my bill in full every visit (and I have to come in monthly for blood work now). The office sends me a bill every time saying I owe additional money. At my next visit I always ask and as always they tell me I owe nothing and it was a mistake. It gets old. Still, this is minor compared to what really made me mad. I am having to seriously consider whether SRMG is the right place for me now. I noticed some concerning issues and felt that my condition/meds were the cause. I spoke with Jill and she agreed. She wanted blood work to confirm. She said results would be back in 2-3 days and if I hadn't heard anything call on the 4th day. Fair enough. Well day 4 rolls around and nothing, so I called. I asked to speak with Jill or be sent to her voice mail. Instead I got the nurse's voice mail. I left a message anyway. This was a Friday. On Monday I called again and got voice mail and no return phone call. The same on Tuesday. Then on Wednesday I called and got a bit ugly. They transferred me directly to the nurse...finally a real person. She told me everything was fine to continue the meds. I asked exactly what my levels were and she told me. The levels the nurse told me didn't sound correct to me, but I couldn't remember for certain what Jill had told me was the normal range. I decided I needed an appt. When I saw Jill she agreed I needed to stay off the meds and that my levels were very low. My meds are meant to lower them. This could have been a potentially dangerous situation for me had I blindly listened to this nurse. I am extremely disturbed by this situation. I have always thought Jill was wonderful and I still do. She goes out of her way to help me out and I would say definitely goes above and beyond, but the rest of the staff worries me. This is not something I ever worried about prior to the merge, but now I have doubts that I will get the care I need. The staff is...I'm not really sure what they are, but I don't feel they give the best care they can. Jill was the one that told me that I have to be my own best advocate. Now I don't know what I'm going to do. Continue to see Jill because I think she is wonderful and has my best interest at heart, but worry about the staff, or look for another provider?

I use to go to this doctors office and I know all too well that most of these reviews are true. YES TRUE. The don't care and want your money. I would NOT recommend these people to anybody at all. And NEVER call them for any advice or help.... all you get is ""lay down"" ""well maybe it could be this"" ""well blah blah blah"" and it sure does not help you when your in pain or whatever. \n\nSo I changed doctors all together.

I and my wife have been coming to Stones River Med. for 15 years, when making an appointment on March 31 2011 I was told that I owed $ 12.00 and it needed to be paid before I could set up an appointment, when I called back to try and get someone else I was put on hold for a long time to where I felt it was done so I would hang up and call some one else,I like Dr. Mark but there seems to be some real issues in the office area, it is a shame that we will have to start going some where else because of a simple $ 12.00 dollar bill even though my insurance is billed alot of money every time,i am sure it is always enough to more than cover a $ 12.00 dollar bill, what happen to helping people

All they want is $$$. They want to run unnessary test just to charge your insurance. They do not listen to what you are telling them. I refussed to let them run a blood and urine test on me when I went in with a pulled muscle in my back. They got very short and hateful with me after I told them no. Everyone should take a good look at your bill and do not be surprised if you receive a bill from them a year and half later. I would not recommend them to anyone. I would not even take my dog to that place. I love my dog. I turly beleive that is why Dr. Turpin left.

Went to the S. Church office 4 times on a work related injury. Had several parts of the body affected. They took x-rays, made another appointment, each time. Finally on the third visit, the doctor actually touched part of the body from one of the injuries. That should have been done on the first visit, if not all of them. On the fourth visit, I waited 1 hour in the waiting room, and another hour in the holding room. One person who came in after I did, left a half hour before I did, so she got seen before I did. No need making an appointment like I did, as they don't live up to it. I finally got so upset after 2 hours of not being seen, I left. I guess they didn't care, because they never called me to see what happened. I have only seen one doctor ever working, the 4 visits I made. Definitely, short handed, and poorly managed. I am very upset with the service I received and will never return. \r\nNOW-I can't get $50.00 back, that I accidentally paid on a claim for this workman's comp. I have contacted the billing office, and TWICE, was told the money would be sent. After 6 weeks, I called and talked to a supervisor, and she said that it would be taken care of. NOW- 2 1/2 weeks later I still have not gotten my money. TODAY-10/3/2011, I called the billing office twice, and left messages to call me, never receiving a call back. The one time I went into the office and confronted the 2 billing clerks, who I had left 5 voice messages, and asked why I was never called back. The answer was, they were too busy. My next step will be to contact the Better Business Bureau.

Dr Mark has had his license suspended and has been sanctioned by a panel of his peers in the past. You can look this information up yourself. He runs test you don't need and doesn't care about anything but money. Even other Doctors talk about how bad he is and call him an incompetent Doctor.\nThe first day I saw him he ordered a battery of test including an ultra sound of my ovaries. When I pointed out to the tech I had no ovaries she laughed and said well we have to pay for this machine and did the test anyway. Also Dr Mark commented to my husband and I about the bombing going on in Lebanon. He said I hope they kill them all. I said not the babies. He said even the babies, I am a Bronx Jew and I can say that. What Doctor wants people killed. I never went back. Yesterday my Mom told me that even though she hasn't seen Dr Mark or been to his office in three years she was able to get his office to refill one of her prescriptions. Why the heck he is still practicing is beyond me.

Cons: He not a good man or doctor

Dr. Mark, has not only been a wonderful doctor for me and my family, he has been far more than that. He has been a very good friend, counselor, motivator! He helped me thru one of the worst times in my life, when I lost my 13 year old son to cancer. He was not only there for me, but he was there for my older children. He has always been extremely thorough when taking care of us. I am very greatly for that. If I would have had a doctor like that before my son got sick, they might have been able to catch his cancer before it spread, which would have greatly improved his survival rate! \nTwo and a half months ago, I started on his weight loss program. I have not had the need to implement all of what he offers, but for what I have done, I have lost over 50 pounds!!!!! And have completely changed my lifestyle to make sure that I keep it off! Every week I go into his office, he makes sure that he recognizes my accomplishments, even though I am not seeing him! He might only give me a thumbs up across the waiting room, but that means alot! And I know that even though he has a huge patient load, he truly remembers each one of his patients! And there is nothing wrong, in him saying God loves you! I will never forget that I was rushed to mtmc on a saturday afternoon, he came in to the hospital from playing tennis, and took care of me! He is awesome, and worth the wait!!!!

Pros: Caring staff, Dr. Mark goes above and beyond expectations!

Cons: wait times! But for the best what can you expect!

I am switching providers as of today. He's got a decent bedside manner once you get past the rediculous waiting time. He'll put every mechanical device known to man on you; order tests to drain your insurance, but won't even do the coomon ""finger wag"" to check your prostate. He's quick in and out, and on to the next patient without even giving you the common decency to afford time for you to ask questions. His staff is well trained in providing excuses, and they have a hatfull of them. My $$$ are better spent with someone who cares about ME, not money.

I guess everyone has their opinion in what they are seeking in a practitioner. I personally had been to doctor after doctor after doctor. A friend suggested I see Dr Mark and I reluctantly agreed. I was so frustrated by previous attempts. Yes, the number of tests he ran at my first few visits seemed like quite a lot. I had been so used to being blown off that I was shocked at meeting someone who would not stop until he found out what was wrong with me. In my opinion Dr. Mark saved my life! Based on the tests he ran it was discovered that my gall bladder was not functioning. I was scheduled within a few days to have this removed. I selected the surgeon, who reviewed my test results, and agreed with the diagnosis. Since having the surgery I feel 100% better in that area. Also, I was suffering from horrible, crippling neck pain. Dr Mark referred me to a neurosurgeon in Nashville who is also highly spoken of. A real live neurosurgeon, not one of these pain management clinics that make an embarrassing fortune stringing people along, some of which are just there for narcotics and not an actual treatment! I am currently on the mend from neck surgery and am virtually (as I am still healing!) pain free! I feel better than I have in years! I would refer anyone, anytime, anywhere to see Dr Mark! His thoroughness is not to be taken lightly!. I take great comfort in knowing that he will research and do test to avoid a misdiagnosis! Dr. Mark - you are THE man!!!!!!

Pros: Thorough, kind, accurate

Cons: Long office wait times

If it were not for Dr. Mark Josovitz, I would not have my husband with me today. No other doctor in Nashville or Murfreessboro could help with his diagnosis. Dr. Mark kept on until he found his problems -- either by researching himself or referring him to several very good specialists. We both are his patients and are glad that we have him because we'll not find another who'll be as caring and concerned about our medical issues.

Pros: Caring, Wonderful staff, Wait time for appointment is short

Cons: Haven't found any yet

While the staff and the PA at Stone River Medical are generally friendly, I have my reservations about the job they're doing. \n\nI've been in several times over the last few months. \n\nI've been effectively dismissed several times. Once,, because the one test they can do regarding a problem I've been having doesn't show anything abnormal. Despite the fact that I'm still having pain.\n\nI've been prescribed several medications, which had little to no affect with treating my illness.\n\nI feel like I'm having more luck diagnosing myself rather than continually paying out a copay to have another useless prescription dropped in my lap (the PA is very good at whipping out prescriptions, I'll say that), another vague test run, and a general dismissal when it comes to the problem(s) I've come into the office to discuss. \n\nI'll be finding a new doctor who will, I hope, actually listen to what is ailing me and work actively with me to find a solution.\n\nETA: I just got a call today from SRMG. They wanted me to come in for test results. These test results were in two months ago. I called two days after the test (24 hour bl00d pressure monitor) and asked for the results. They told me then (after some general confusion of not knowing what they were talking about) that everything was fine. \n\nI specifically asked if I needed to come in. They said I didn't. \n\nWhen I asked the nurse why she was calling me to come into the office two months after the fact she said ""I don't know. I'm just doing what she told me.""\n\nMy reflection is: they're trying to get a copay out of me. \n\nIf there was a problem with my results (which I've seen and which look fine--according to my research--though I will be taking them when I find a new doctor) then you need to tell me when I call for the results, not wait two months after the fact and then try to get more money out of me. \n\n\nDo not use this medical office.\n\n\nETA - November 13 2010. \n\nI just received a bill in the mail. Now, it's not for much, but it's dated from May of 2009. I haven't been into this office since then, for the reasons outline above. \n\nSo I'll be calling them Monday to find out three things - What the bill is pertaining to. Why it took them a year and a half to send the bill to me. If there are any other ""outstanding"" charges under my name that they would like to tell me about so a year from now I do not receive another surprise in the mail.

Dr Turpin was very good to me,I have many medical problems and he had to take all those in condideration to help me. He sent me for a couple of tests that needed doing. Tests my local dr.s didn't even condider. I like my local Dr.s but do not think they take my illnessses seriously enuff and do not order the tests I need to see how far my disease has progressed or how it is affecting my body. Dr. Turpin was different. He was concerned with my over all health. He told me that my Dr.s had ruined my adrenal glands with thier 10 years of prednisone use. He was very straight forward and acted like a human being. He wanted me to come back so he could see that I got the care I needed. He was going to send me to specialists for the illnesses I have that he is not as familiar with as he thought he needed to be. I Love Dr. Turpin. I would reccomend him highly.

Dr Josovitz was rude, arrogant, and did not want to hear my husband's symptoms. He gave my husband a $60 prescription for a problem he didn't have and wanted to run a bunch of tests that were not needed. He also wanted to send him to a doctor ""friend"" and no his doctor friend was not a surgeon. He did some lab tests before my husband left the clinic but refuses to give us the results unless my husband comes back in which he will not be doing. My husband went to another doctor who knew exactly what was wrong with my husband and sent him straight to a surgeon the very next day. My husband had surgery three days after seeing the surgeon and is now on the mend. Anyone who wants to use this dr. should do a search on him and decide after reading comments.

This man is an amazing person. I went in there unknowing to find a doctor that was so nice and actually listened to me. He was more concerned about my well being than any other doctor I know. I barely even knew the man and his advice he gave me was very helpful and reassuring. I recommend this doctor to anybody. As far as the woman that gave him a bad review, You are probably a hypochondriac. I don't really know you but ever doctor could misdiagnose something or even just neglect the problem. I'm just saying that I feel confident in Dr. Turpin to be the best for that. Like I said though, every doctor can make a mistake. The point is GO SEE THIS MAN. He is the best!!

Dr. Turpin is the absolute best doctor I have ever seen. He is straightforward. He will actually spend time with you, instead of rushing you in and out. I would recommend him to anyone in the State of Tennessee. He was caring and genuine. He is just unlike any doctor I have ever seen.

Be very careful of this doctor, and I use this term loosely. He is arrogant, pompous, non-caring and he certainly does not listen to anything you say. He constantly interrupts you to talk about himself and he does not allow family members in the room with you even if you request that they come with you. WHY? What is he hiding. I understand HIIPA, but if you, as the patient, request that your family member accompanies you there should be NO discussion. \r\n\r\nThe only way I would recommend this dr is if I really, really, really hated someone. Then I would tell them he is the greatest.\r\n\r\nHe finishes his appointments by saying ""Jesus loves you"". Ok I agree, but I would rather that he listen with both ears, process what I am telling him, make a proper diagnosis and not dismiss me as though there is nothing wrong with me.\r\n\r\nI know beyond a shadow of a doubt there is a problem with my body but he is certainly NOT the one to help diagnosis it as he is clueless!!!!!!!!!\r\n\r\nRun away as fast as you can. Go see a Veteranarian, it would be safer!

I live in Macon, GA, and after years of depending on local internal medicine doctors for mine and my family's needs, a good friend recommended Dr. Mark Josovitz in Murfreesboro, TN,, if I wanted the best of care and if I didn't mind driving the distance. I first visited Stones River Medical Group in Murfreesboro about seven years ago and have been traveling back to see Dr. Josovitz several times a year ever sincce. He treats me for hypertension, arthritis, diabetes along with other problems and I am totally pleased with every visit . I highly recommend Dr. Mark Josovitz to anyone who isn't happy with their present health care and desire being treated by someone who really cares and who truly knows what he's doing.

Dr. Paul Turpin - I scheduled an appointment to set up a PCP as I had just moved to Murfreesboro, TN. Through the transition of moving I was given an upsetting dx two weeks ago when I sought emergency care. I waited for one hour and 15 mins before being verbally attacked or in their words, ""being seen by the dr,"" in my words, ""being seen by Satan's brother!"" I was prescribed medication that has a side effect of insomnia. When he looked at the medication that was prescribed for me he started to berate me, accused me of having my dx my entire life, that I must have destroyed everything and everyone in my past, called me a liar. I just met this man and was only looking to establish a PCP and told him I was having trouble with sleep. I had gone on line to research AmbienCR, they offered a certificate for a free trial. He adamantly told me he would not prescribe it and continued to ask questions, interrupting me as soon as I began to speak, with horrible accusations of me personally. Again, I had just met this man. I broke down in tears and cannot get this horrible man and his treatment of myself out of my head. Truly the worst dr I have ever encountered in my entire life and honestly it scares me to realize this man practices medicine. This just happened yesterday and I am still in shock. I am contacting the State of TN Medical Complaint Board, he was that bad. I would recommend NOT seeing this horrendous man for anything, life or death, not even a hang nail! But I have to say he had the most compassionate, caring nurse, Hannah, who stood there in shock herself. Can someone offer this wonderful nurse a better job so that she does not have to work for this monster?!!!!! Now for fairness, I passed Dr. Josovitz with a patient in the hall, he appeared joyous, his patient was smiling. I do not want this review to reflect on Dr. Josovitz whom I had no patient/dr contact with.
