My wife and I stopped in to replace a 9 year old mattress with body impressions. We found a good deal on a Sterns & Fosters (high end Sealy) and we heard all about the quality and 10 yr warranty. After a few nights of settling into the hole called memory foam, I called Ortho. I was told that nothing could be done unless the mattress was defective (defective = 1 1/2 inch body impression).

After 6 months I had a 2 inch body impression and my wife was mostly sleeping in the other room on our 9 year old mattress. I was told that a warranty guy would come out and look, if I paid for the trip. Only $50, because I live a few miles from the store. But wait ... after further research I was told that since my mattress was on sale, the warranty was void.

My high end Sterns & Foster lasted 6 months and has no warranty, what a deal. And the cost was only twice as much as a Serta from Costco. Otrho can't help me because of state law and the evil mattress producers.

An interesting business strategy, if you have defective merchandise you can put it on sale and void the warranty. consumer beware!

Pros: Lots of parking

Cons: Defective merchandise, no customer support, not ethical
