I loved my old dentist but my insurance changed and I had to find a new dentist. I was reluctant, but I've always wanted to try a female dentist. When I arrived at their office I was greeted by the receptionist, who was very nice. The forms where easy to fill out and I was called back quickly. My boyfriend chatted with the receptionist the entire time and he was very pleased with their office. I was there for a cleaning and a routine check up. I have severe dental anxiety and I told the hygienist that I was prone to shaking in fear when I felt overwhelmed at the dentist. She understood and she only used the more time consuming, quieter method for me. When the dentist got back there she insulted me numerous times and surprised me. Every time I go to my orthodontist I hear, "You're doing good on your brushing", and I floss and use Christmas tree brushes regularly, not to mention twice a day brushing and mouthwash. I take care of my mouth. But this dentist said, "You need to have your braces removed if you can't start brushing your teeth." "You have the mouth of a 40 yr old - with all of those fillings." "You're teeth are going to look bad when your braces come off." She even TOLD me to start drinking more water. She nicked my gums with the tooth brush and when I said, "owe," she said, "that's not hurting you." Gum disease runs in my family and I'm doing everything I can to take care of my mouth - she really offended me.
If you have the option, go to another dentist.

I received fine care from the dentist and staff on my visit. I returned about my bill; it is 250% more than their estimate. They explained things well, but I do not think they were upfront about what would be covered on my initial visit. When I told the staff this upon my return, they were immediately defensive and told me that their staff would never do that. I agreed to pay the bill. When I told the dentist that I did not understand why I had a procedure that was not covered, she responded sarcastically and rudely, saying, "Oh, really? Because I told you...."
