Great place to visit in Nashville. Always great food (best catfish in Nashville), great drinks, friendly wait staff, friendly atmosphere, reasonable prices, live entertainment. Folks from all over the world come back over and over again. You'll never know who might be dropping in.

I visited here on a pleasure vacation and had a few drinks and listened to the house band, who I greatly enjoyed. The drinks were reasonably priced and decent pours. The service was great, and people in general were very friendly. I

We came here after the Tuesday night Opry performance. None of the other restaurants were open - but John A's had the lights on. We were kindly greeted and seated right away. I had the fried chicken sandwich which was breaded in a flavorful homemade batter and my friend had the barbecue ribs - which she found to be pretty good. They were meaty and not fatty and fell off the bone. We didn't order the appetizers; but the ones we saw being served to other tables looked pretty good. The staff was very friendly, the food was very good. We would recommend this to others looking for a late night bite to eat.

Pros: great place for a sandwich or ribs, open late, convenient location to the opry
