Valentine's night, my husband and another couple ate at Cabana's and we loved it! I fully expected the food or service to suffer with the date night crowd...but everything was awesome! For starters the calamari is incredible and the crab

We were from out of town and we tried Cabana for the 1st time. We got there a bit late, around 8pm for the 7pm trivia, which appeared fun and packed the bar area. The host did not inform us that the pizza special was off because no more pizzas made and that was the reason we went. The pizzas are 2 for 1 along with beer. Our server told us about pizza and we were disappointed...not overly impressed with menu, but after many minutes, server says they made more dough so we could have pizza. He said it happens lots that they run out of pizza. And they are open until midnight! The pizza was incredible and the server was awesome too...everyone is happy and cheery, very upbeat. We were happy to get the pizza otherwise it would not have been a good experience. The trivia only lasts about an hour, so be on time! And get there early so you dont miss out on the pizza deals!

Pros: Great pizza and beer deals on Sunday

Cons: They run out of pizza early

Finally somebody decided to open up a night spot in Hillsboro Village. The music is bumping and the crowd is very interesting and unquie.

While I really like the seafood entrees here (their salmon is great - and actually their chicken is pretty awesome too) it always seems to be a hassle when we order from here. The attitude of the staff is not great, even when they aren't busy. Don't bother with the fries - they just come with a watery cheese sauce and ketchup - or the ribs - they are beef tips and just gross! But the seafood stuff is really worth trying I think. Plus, you may run into a few Titans players at the bar. Overall, it's pricey with poor service and little thought for the customer but if you're good at swallowing your pride a bit, you may be able to swallow some drinks and select entrees too.

We went to Cabana last Saturday for my friend's bachelorette party. After waiting for about 15 minutes past our reservation time, we were seated! It was worth the wait, though, because we got to sit in a cabana!! We plugged in our music (which they made us turn down a little because it was too loud). We got their fries for an appetizer...they were SOOO good. I got their salmon for my meal...it was a little sweet but very good. One girl got pizza, which looked awesome. I think I'll be going back for that! Our waiter was so funny, but it took him a little while to get to us sometimes. There were big parties all around us, so he could have been busy with all of them. After our meals, he brought the bachelorette a piece of chocolate cake--even though I was so full, it tasted so good! Drinks were good, but I was definitely feeling it the next day! Too many pitchers of sangria :) Besides some slow service at times, we had a great time. I would definitely recommend it for a birthday/bachelorette parties!

I had made reservations here over a month in advance for my best friends birthday. She and several of her friends traveled from Wilmington NC for her birthday with hopes that the evening would be wonderful. Upon making my initial reservations I was told that bringing a cake would be a waste since they would charge me for each slice cut and they would provide a small cake free of charge. When we first arrived at Cabana we were sat outside in a tented patio with heaters (In December) and 7 people were crowded around a small table which was shoved against the plastic tent. It took our waitress a good 10 mins. to even take our drink orders and then another 20 to get them to us. Then while she was taking our orders.. while the birthday girl was in mid order, the waitress just WALKED AWAY.. as if she had something more important to do. Once the waitress FINALLY came back and took the rest of our orders she had a MAJOR ATTITUDE! The worst part of the evening was when we had to ask 3 different times and 2 different servers to bring the birthday girls cake out to her and they still NEVER brought it. We were there a good two and a half hours.. mostly waiting.. and we only were able to get 2 drinks each because the waitress took forever. Once she realized how unhappy we were she dropped the our checks on the table and walked away. IT WAS HORRIBLE!! Being an event coordinator myself I WILL NEVER recommend this place to anyone for anything.

Had a reservation for one of the cabanas for over a month - had to guarantee to spend minimum of $250 -they called me twice to confirm THEN had to wait 45 minutes to be seated. Was told by hostess that they really didn't have any control over when parties were seated and how long they stayed, etc. Only got seated that quickly because we asked to speak with a manager and complained. They did bring us a free appetizer in an attempt to apologize for the long wait. Food was very mediocre after all the hassle. We did have a great waitress who was very accomodating. This is a bar, not a good restaurant.. If you make reservations be prepared to still wait.

Cabana has a great atmosphere and is great for special occasions. The food however is overpriced and not very good. The service is slow but the good atmosphere and "cabanas" (if you get one) make up for the long wait for service and your bill. I went there frequently but mostly for their drinks.

I love this place on a Monday night. They have buy one get one free beer and whole pizzas. Let me just say that their pizzas are a masterpiece and the best that I have been able to find in the Nashville area. If you can wait it out long enough they also have Texas Hold 'Em Poker that starts around 10 or 10:30pm and lasts until you loose your chips. I've always had great food, service, and fun when I've gone here.

I've also gone here with a large group and love how you are seated in your own private cabana where you can draw the curtains if you choose.

Highly Recommend!

Pros: Great Pizza, Southern Food, specialty drinks

Cons: Avoid the sliders and cheese plate

This is a great restaurant with wonderful southern hospitality! The atmosphere was pleasant and there are some great food combinations. I had pork chops over grits. And i really like the corn muffins that were served along with my dish.

The parking is a bit tight around the area because of the nearby colleges and universities. We went just before night crowd started to pour in.

We were attending a girl's conference in Nashville and the hotel attendant recommended this spot!
The parking around the restaurant is really limited but we did find on street parking. The restaurants looked small on the outside but we were suprised to see how much more restaurant there really was.

We were escorted to our seats pass the cabanas to an open area at the rear of the restaurant. The area had a roof the retracted in the evening and faced the main street. I ordered the little chicken sandwiches with sweet potatoe buns. It was delicious! There was a hint of apricot on the sandwich.

If you are visiting Nashville, this is a great place to hang out. A good crowd and great food!

If you haven't been to Cabana in a while or ever, you should go! Great, hip atmosphere, good music and menu. I had the lobster brie mac n cheese....heavenly! Fine dining that won't break your bank!
You don't feel like you are in Nashville when you are there. The look ic very chic, not your Dad's sports bar!

I've been to Cabana no less than 10 times in the past year, and I've received consistently good food. The fish is always cooked perfectly, and the portion size is well worth the price. There's always enough left for lunch the next day. My favorites are the Baked Salmon Purse (superb flavor combination and could serve as a meal), the Grilled Mahi, and the Blanco Pizza. If the Pacific Corvina is featured on the specials menu, take advantage!

The large plates are priced well, but the appetizers are a bit overpriced, especially the martini meals and salads. Don't bother with the desserts---they aren't house made and you can tell they came from the fridge or freezer. They're likely Sysco desserts, and aren't great quality.

There is not much to recommend this restaurant. Previous reviews are right on. The food is much too sweet from the impersonation of a sangria (pineapple-yuck) to the fruit syrup salad dressing. The main course that we paid much too much for was a good cut of perfectly cooked venison ruined with both the syrupy berry sauce and the vanilla pudding rice called a risotto paired with it. We spent far too much money for such a dissatisfying meal. I actually felt ill and needed to leave. I would have done better to have stay at home. It is my sincere hope that this place is not diagnostic of the quality of restaurant to be found here.

A few friends came in from oversees to visit and wanted to hang out at a nice spot, we were told about Cabana. Went in and thought we were in for a goodnight, however the bartender was very rude and refuse to serve us stated that "he do not serve unless he is tip, everytime he serves a drink."
I was ashamed having brought company from another country to see this display of behavior. They informed the bartender that they were from another country and that it was common to tip the bartendar at the end of the night for his services while there.
At the end of the night the bartendar was tip.

The next week we returned and was serve by another bartendar who was later informed not to serve us because we do not F#&$ tip, this was stated in our presence. After our drinks were completed we waited patiently to be served again, but all the bartendars ignored our presence. The informant came up after 40mins of no service and stated loudly, "are we goin to tip this week, no tip no service!" We got up and left vowing never to return to this establishment.

Actually, Jody Faizon did better with this property than Craig Clifft has. It is far too loud to hear any of my thoughts, the "back bar" is cool, if you can get in. I can't remember the last time I had to pay cover for a place without a stage! I have eaten here several times in the past, and was mildly impressed at first. However the duck is the worst addition to a menu I have ever tasted. Something like rubber with bacon. The host staff was exceptional, and the wait staff was pretty good, too. However, the inaccessability of the main attraction takes away from this place. Avoid this place. If you want trendy, new american cuisine, go to Flyte, Radius 10, Watermark, etc.

Nashville has some great restaurants-Park Cafe, Zola, Boundry, Virago, Sunset Grill, etc. Unfortunately, Cabana is NOT one of them. I can't imagine what type of cuisine those who have rated Cabana highly are accustomed to. I will say the minimalist decor is trendy and fresh, but let me tell you about the food. Imagine Del Monte cream style corn...slurried with sugar. That's what the mixture that graces Cabana's fried green tomatoes appetizer tastes like. Abysmal.

Still, I was looking forward to the entree, blackened tilapia. The fish was fresh, but again, it sat atop a strange brew: pumpkin bisque that did not complement the dish at all. Imagine a BLT: bologna, lard, and tuna. It's almost as if no one there as actually tasted any of these dishes. I also tried my friend's bbq sandwich....again, sugary and terrible.

I realize the founders of Cabana are highly regarded and I absolutely love their other establishments. I'm hopeful that they will make RADICAL changes to Cabana's menu and get this place up to par.

I went to Cabana to meet some friends for cocktails. I was there about five minutes before leaving. Talk about a bad atmosphere. You have to reserve a "cabana" to have anywhere to sit down because the bar is full of old men watching sports. Secondly, you have to eat dinner there in order to reserve a cabana ... its just rude to your server not to do so and its pricey.

And what's with all the suits and ties?

Not recommended for anything other than a semi-formal dinner party.

I went to Cabana's for a work event and sat in the back lounge area. The drink menu was good and the decor and people watching were great. I traveled between the back bar and the front bar (you can only smoke at the front bar) and think it would be great to go back with friends and reserve a cabana. I would definitely recommend reservations - we went on a Thursday night and it was hopping. We only ordered appetizers, the chips were great as well as the pizza. Watch the parking situation - I valeted my car and by the time I left the valet guys were gone! I ended up collecting my keys from the bartender and had to pushed the panic button on my remote so that I could locate my car!

Please do something about the music. Really, they need to put even a fraction of the time they put into the design into the playlists. The place is supposed to have a modern feel, but they're content to default to some garbage nu-metal or generic rap for the soundtrack? And the music is always the same, whether it's a quiet Wednesday night or Saturday night at 11. Change it up depending on the situation and get someone with some originality who will play new, up and coming tracks.

I have visted Cabana 4-5 times now for various occasions: girls night out, birthday party, casual date night, etc. Everyime I have been completely satisfied. The hostesses can be a bit snotty, but overall the service has always been great - only once have we had a reservation. The ravioli was wonderful. The pizzas are always good - buy one get one free on Sundays! The lobster brie mac & cheese is also great. Plus they have a $5 martini menu all night sun-wed and 5-7 other nights with some great choices.

Very hip, fun and sometimes live music. Will continue to visit.

I made "reservations" for six in non-smoking. I put this in quotation marks because 24 hours later, less than two hours before my reservation, I received a phone call telling me that we had been bumped into smoking by a larger party. Fortunately, I was able to find a table at Tayst, just down the street. We went there and had a terrific meal.

Apparently these clowns need a refresher course on the meaning of a reservation. Presumably the same also goes for their sister restaurant, Sunset Grill.

Fortunately, I was able to find a table at Tayst, just down the street. We went there and had a terrific meal.

Apparently these clowns need a refresher course on the meaning of a reservation. Presumably the same also goes for their sister restaurant, Sunset Grill.

Pros: They have a nice website.

Cons: When they call you to tell you that they've changed your reservation, they are completely unapologetic.

My husband and I occassionally will dine out for a date. It's ritual we try to do as a young hip married couple of 10 years. We recently moved to Franklin about a year ago from NY due to work. We often review new places on city search for great ideas. We wanted to try Cabana since we heard so many great reviews. We just left there no more than 1 hour ago.

To say the least we were not pleased. The decor & service was okay, the drinks were good but the food was horrible!!!!!!!!!!!!!. We left there looking for another place to grab a bite. I think it's over hype for the new nashville scene. I was very disappointed looking for a new urban flair in Nashville. If people in Nashville think this scene is great, I am sorry to say they need to venture out a little more.

Cabana is not all it is cut out to be regarding their food selection. I had their salmon, which was alright. Chilis grilled salmon taste better and cost a lot less. The atmosphere is nice, but it was ruined by a city councilman who had made a racial comment to a group of people. One of the affected person argued with the city councilman regarding this racial statement, and an employee of Cabana told him and the people he was with to clam down or they will be kicked out. I do not know why Cabana employees focused on the minority group, when the city councilman was the one who started this confrontation? I ranked their customer service below average.

Pros: Atomosphere, Drinks

Cons: Customer Service

Since there was a review for bad service I had to follow up with how great our service was. We never had to wait on a drink, the food came out in a timely manner and really was good. I had the pizza and would reccomend.

Pros: Food, Atmoshphere

Don't bother trying to get a drink unless you know the bartender! I have been ignored at both an empty bar, and a half full dining room by staff that seems completely disinterested in their jobs. One exception--Earl. If it wasn't for him, I'd never even set foot in Cabana. Shame too, 'cause the food rocks.

I didnt realize what we were getting in to when we went. The ambiance surprised me. We were there from 8p-11p on Saturday. I was not expecting it to be packed with 20 something year olds. This was a meat market for them. When our table was ready, we walked past the cabanas that had curtains. Some rowdy boys went over to the cabanas and opened the curtains so that they could flirt with the girls inside. So much for privacy. Our table was in the big room in the back. As the evening progressed, the music got louder and louder. It went from being a restaurant with everyone sitting at their table to a night club with loads of people crowding around the bar. On my way back from the restroom to my table, I had to convince security that I had a table with friends waiting for me.

Thank you Cabana for having a vegetarian option. I liked the entree, but the dessert (chocolate cake) was OK, not great. The cake was pretty dry. Our bill was $75 dollars for 2 people.

Cabana is a great place. The atmosphere is amazing. The concept is very creative and I can imagine that it will be great in the summer when it becomes an open air restaurant/bar. My only complaint is that on the weekends it is overcrowded. If you don't have a table or cabana there is not room to move around. You can't stand up with out getting bumped every other second. That definitely takes away from the overall experience.

The shrimp appetizer was awesome, however, the lobster corn dogs tasted strange. It was definately the lobster, not the cornmeal because we separated them. Unless you really mean to order a huge slab of ham, do not order the pork chop. The cheese grits that came with it were very tasty. The trout (ordered almond crusted ) was mediocre. I'm not an avid trout eater so I could have just been underwhelmed with trout. I love sweet potatoes so I was anxious to order the small sweet potato biscuits. They had a good texture but were cold and somewhat bland. Our server was great. She was attentive, informative and nice. And, the atmosphere was very cool.

I was very pleased with my dining experience when I came across this new place. Conveniently located, amazing taste and imaginative selections, great service, and some original drinks. Has a great atmosphere that will be an even better place to be in the spring and fall when the majority of the restaurant can become open air with floor to ceiling doors. If you are looking for a more romantic setting they have private rooms with LCD TVs and curtains. If you want NY dining without the high costs usually associated with it go here!
