Cons: May have to stand in line at peak times.

I've only been to Flying Fish once, but it was a very positive experience. I'd been wanting to go for a while but everytime I pass it during the lunch hour there is a line out the door! My husband and I went for dinner and there was no wait at all. I had the grilled catfish platter and it was wonderful! The veggies served with it were very fresh and tasty and the rice and beans had a lot of flavor as well. I got a huge side order of hush puppies for less than $2 and they were really good. The menu is quite large, so I am anxious to go back and try other things. There's lots to look at on the walls. If you donate a "Billy Bass" (that ridiculous singing fish) to the restaurant to hang on their walls, you get a free meal. It's a fun, casual, fishing atmosphere and I will definitely be back!

The South's ubiquitous small-town fish fry shacks inspire Flying Fish, serving crispy, deep-fried catfish with a healthy dose of kitsch. The walls are festooned with novelty Billy Bass singing fish trophies (donate yours and get a free…
