Oh Lord have mercy. I came here for lunch, and again the same night for some drinking & dancing. The food was absolutely AWFUL. They were out of a lot of items, so i ordered a burger and something on it tasted rotten! My salad was just so-so. it was supposed to be "mixed greens" but it was a plain iceberg lettuce. When we came back for the nightlife, it was like walking into a zoo. There were what appeared to be 15 year old kids dancing and jumping off the tables, throwing GARBAGE in the air. The DJ was horrible! He played awful rap music and insulted all the girls...he told them to get up on the bar and dance and then he said "i dont see one good looking girl up there". He also made fun of heavier girls dancing in front of him. This was the WORST bar/club i have ever been to and you couldnt pay me to go back!

Its a wonder this bar stays in business, because there are way to many kids drinking. The food is terrible. Music and singers lousy.Definately will not go back.

It was the worst meal we have had in a long long time..... Last night we stopped there for dinner based on the 4.5 star review and we were extremely disappointed.... the food was so bad that we refused to eat it.... The waiter was nice and I felt bad for him to serve such horrible food... The Fish and chips was lousy and the Hamburger was worst than a 99c burger..... Stay away ...

This is the sleaziest club/bar I have ever been to. I have been here 3 different times & the experience is the same. They pretty much let people do what they want. People that are already having a seat at the bar are rude & its hard to get the bartenders attention. They let girls dance on the bar like in Wild cats/Coyote Ugly They also let people dance on the restaurant tables which is dangerous & not to mention nasty cause most girls we saw we wearing heels & drunk. The last thing that made me say never going there again! are the people there that are obviously drunk start pushing people & all the security does is just say stop or break it up. Well because security did not break up this one fight a young guy there got knocked out as soon as he stepped out of the bar. His his teeth got knocked out & when he hit the concrete head was busted. The paramedics were still trying to revive him as we were leaving. The security is not good at all for such a rowdy place

I went with some friends to Mcfadden's about two weeks ago. I actually liked this place. When we went the service was good and the food was about the same. It's bar food. But good bar food. I had some tasty hot wings and I love wings so I would have to say they were pretty good. Now I have heard some people say that the food is a bit overpriced. Well I used a gift certificate that I got from the Half Off Depot site. Go check it out in the nashville section. If you bought the certificate which was $10 then you would receive $25 worth of food and drinks from Mcfadden's. Can't hurt to try out this place with that kind of a deal. And your in downtown Nashville! I recommend you check it out now before they're all gone...

My wife and I went for an early dinner downtown and I decided to try McFaddens because they're advertised on the radio all the time. Maybe this place is a hot party spot but the food was terrible. I got the Bangers and Mash and the sausage was prepackaged plain sausage with cheap instant potatoes. Without the cheese on top the reconstituted potato flakes would have been inedible. It also came with a side of cheap canned peas and carrots. I'm sure you remember the cubed carrots in the 25 cent store brand veggie can. Needless to say You don't want to go for the food. I think my entree was 12 dollars and was worth about 3.

I was in Mcfaddens on my last night in Nashville. The bouncers at the front were very interesting, friendly and hilarious! The music was just great! It's not just a typical bar where you drink and socialize. It is definitely a great place to have a great time! The night I was there, The bartenders were giving out free shots to the gals who danced on top of the bar! I'm not sure if they do this all the time, but it was great!

As far as Nashville goes, McFaddens is the best bar by far. Like the perfect Irish pub throughout the weekdays it is the perfect place for great food, good company, and drink deals that will leave your wallet looking about the same on the way out as it did walking in. At night on the weekends the lights are dimmed, the music is cranked and the dance floor comes to life. With some of the best bartenders in town, lowest drink prices and different atmospheres to suit what ur particularly looking for in a night or day. McFaddens takes the cake.

Looking for fun, energy, and entertainment.\r\nOnly look for the # 1 DJ in Nashville.\r\nOur own talent. DJ CLIFFY D\r\nHe fills the room with electricty and with his personality then you end up dancing all night. Until closing.\r\nROCK ON CLIFFY D.\r\n

The only place in town doing a lot of the things that they are. I always have fun at McFadden's. With some of the best DJs Nashville has to offer the party is always fun and the music is always great. I definitely make a point to check out McFadden's a couple times a week.

Where do I start, Tables were dirty, bathrooms disgusting (toilets nasty& water from sink sprays all over you) I ordered a house salad Out of 3 dressings cheese and croutons. Service was terrible The guy behind bar lacked motivation. I would not recommend this place to anyone.

Oh boy, I really wanted to like this place. I was in a group of 7 people from all over the US and one Brit; it was our first visit to Nashville. I found several places to eat on this site and enjoyed them all a lot, except for this one. The food was below average. The ambiance was dead, the band was uninspired and the bathroom...God help us! It was gross! I don't know when they cleaned it last, but it appears to be sometime in the 80's. Dirty, plus no toilet paper in one of the stalls. Then there's the sink faucet. OMG the thing sprays right at you! It was crazy. I wouldn't recommend this place to eat and listen to music. Bombed on both in my opinion.

What an odd experience... we placed our drink order and then perused their menu for a few minutes. We tried to place an order and the server very apologetically advised us they were ""out of the white chili""... we reconsidered our order and settled on the ribs only to learn they were ""out of ribs"" too....the server then proceeded to tell us what else they were out of...which was practically everything listed on their menu! We paid for our drinks and opted to go eat at Jack's instead.... Don't go to McFadden's if you are looking to eat anything other than a hotdog

As someone who works downtown, I eat on 2nd ave a lot. Every time I visit McFaddens I am disappointed. They are usually out of half the items on their menu, the waitresses (are cute) but that doesn't make up for the very poor service (I ended up walking to the bar for refills every time), and the food is comparable to AppleBee's on a good day but extremely overpriced. The one dish that was OK was the fried pickles. Don't waste your time or money at this place!

We were in town this past weekend for my sister and her friend's 21st birthdays. We had about 13 people with us and were just walking down 2nd Avenue when a guy from Mcfadden's told us to come in there for their birthdays. We told them we had 13 people with us, and they still let us all in in front of the line. And I'm not sure if there's ever a cover charge, but they didnt charge any of us. On top of that, we get in and the guy who pulled us in gets on the microphone and wishes both of them a happy birthday, and then the bartender gave all 13 of us a shot. That really made our night a good one, and gave them an awesome memory for their 21st birthdays! We stayed there longer than anywhere else. It is a really fun place to hang out and I will definitely stop back in there the next time I am in Nashville. You are guaranteed to have a really great time here.

Pros: very nice staff, really fun atmosphere

Cons: The only con i can think of is the lady in the bathroom who grabs your hands and puts soap in them and then tells you to ""help her out"" b/c she ""works for tips only"". She is a little rude about it.

This is NOT, and I repeat NOT, an irish pub. Mcfadden's is basically Coyote Ugly with some shamrocks thrown around. if that's what you're into, then go for it. But, the fact that the place advertises as a pub, or even Irish, is baffling.

Upon entering we were told we would have to wait 15 minutes for a table. This was no problem especially when every place else in the area had at least a 45 minute wait. The interesting thing is that once seated there were tons of open tables in our area of the restaurant. We then had to wait 20 minutes before anyone came to take our drink order, even though the few tables around us were being served. I could see the beer taps but couldn't tell what they had from the distance so I asked what they had on draught and the waitress said just about everything, just name it. Well I could only see about 7 taps and when bars around the corner in both directions have over 80 beers on tap each, then ""about everything"" is quite a claim. When I ordered a dark beer I was served Coors Lite. Then it took another half hour to get the beer I ordered. On the next round I switched to Sam Adams in a bottle (didn't have it on tap). I was served the Summer Ale. The waitress didn't tell me that it wouldn't be the Boston Lager which is a bar standard. She said they only had the season beers which I guess means you shouldn't expect to go there repeatedly and get your favorite beer each time. I drank it because I didn't want to be too picky or wait until the next morning to get another beer. After a very long wait our food finally came and it was barely warm. They offered to take it back but we were starving by that time. The waitress did get the manager to take the Shepard's Pie off our check but the whole experience was so bad there's no way I'll give them another chance. Oh and they suddenly changed the music in the middle of a song and cranked it up instantly over twice the volume it had been. It really seemed like no one there had ever worked in a bar or restauranct before. But if you want to go to a bar where some of the waitresses dress like strippers then this may be the place for you. The 15 year old girl we had with us was offended and so was I.

This was my first time, and I wasn't terribly impressed. It was about midnight and I was expecting a sports bar. There was a cover charge and a dance floor. The DJ was pretty good, but the music was the same booty-dance stuff you hear at any of the ""dance"" places in Nashville. The drinks were overpriced. \r\n\r\nI didn't realize that I would need money to go to the bathroom, but fortunately I had a dollar in my pocket. The attendant yelled at a random girl and my friend because they didn't tip her. My friend was just standing in there while I peed. I was kind of afraid the woman was going to jump someone. I told her when I finished washing my hands I would give her the cash I had. \r\n\r\nI do not plan to go back.

I am a Nashville native who lives in another city now. My Irish boyfriend and his friends went to this bar while in Nashville as they thought it would be a cool place to go. The bar staff was rude and physically aggressive to a group of guys in town for a good time. I will NEVER step foot in this bar and I am hoping most of you will use your good judgment and do the same. Friends of mine in the city where I live now will not go to Nashville because of the treatment our friends received. I hope the bar management is proud of themselves as the literally wiped out potentially thousands of dollars in revenue by being rude and offensive to a group of harmless Irish fellows. I am embarassed to call myself a former Nashvillian because of the management and employees at this establishment. STAY AWAY FROM HERE AT ALL COST!!!

Being a Nashville native, I have learned to avoid 2nd Ave like the plague! Against my own will, I was escorted down second ave one night and led to into McFadden's. This place was AMAZING! We were having a late dinner and the food was great. They had traditional Irish dishes and some great burgers for the less adventurious. My friend had the Dublin burger, it was delish and beautiful. The severs were all sp nice and they worked together to make sure everyone was taken care of. After dinner, we stayed for drinks and the party. About 9 they bring the lights down, start the music, and start moving tables. They place drew in a lot of people, everyone seemed to have a great time, including me and mine. They make it snow with napkins, the employees join the party and make a ruckus. (I love a good ruckus.) This is 2nd's only saving grace, but it's great because you can get there at 6 and not leave til 4 (yes I said 4) and have a great time the whole time!

I had a birthday party there a couple weeks ago. I called them and asked if they could work out a deal if I would bring in 30 people. They gave us some awesome pricing ($2 drinks), and gave me a great deal on my tab. Everyone was super nice and my friends and I had a blast. Great place to have a birthday party!

McFaddens late night is a very cool place for your 21-35 crowd. The staff throws a huge party like nothing I have ever seen. They let girls dance on the bar late night, but they are not the 50 year old tourists like you see dancing on the bar at Coyote Ugly. Alot of the crowd are my fellow Vanderbilt students, and we have a blast. They also have alot of young professionals that frequent it. They have one bartender named Jeremy that works on the weekends that is cool as hell. He always remembers me, always remembers what I drink, and is just cool. The dude poured me and 4 of my friends a shot, and took one with us, then said it was on him and he appreciated us coming in. Come on, where else in this city are you going to find a bartender that buys you a shot just because?\r\nSome of the reviews on here are absolutely blasting the place for poor food, but didn't they just open a few months ago? I mean, they probably had to work out the kinks in the process. Everything I have had to eat has been great.\r\nAnd someone objected to the fact that their friend wasn't allowed in because of his attire? Look who their neighbors are, Graham Central Station and BB Kings, that are full of hoodrats! They have to be hard asses about the dress code. I personally am glad that they don't let those thugs in, otherwise I wouldn't step foot on 2nd Ave. \r\nBottom line is, its a decent place to grab some food during the day, and they throw an awesome party at night.

Pros: Good Ambience, Cheap drinks, Awesome staff, Rockin Party

Cons: ?

McFaddens is unlike any other bar/club I've ever been in it's a really cool place!! Nashville is such a cool city and really needed a bar like this! This place has it all flat screens, a hard working and attractive staff, an incredible DJ and they know how to throw a party!!!! I went to McFaddens expecting just another night in downtown Nashville and was blown away, the staff is very interactive with the crowd and really gets the crowd going! The bartenders throw napkins all over the place and dance on the bar but not skanky, and I even saw what I think was a manager (he was dressed up) put a bartender on his shoulders to make a drink for me, it was unreal!!! I cant say enough about this place I had a blast and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a wild, crazy, fun night!!!!!

So i typically don't write reviews like most of the previous people had said, but i loved McFaddens!! I am from Nashville, and like most locals don't usually travel to downtown unless prompted by a bachelorete party or birthday or for just a change in atmosphere. Well a friend of mine won a Happy Hour Party on a Saturday Night. Wow! This place was amazing. I am not sure where the person that wrote Mc ""Fat"" n's came from, but all the girls on the bar that night were not fat, not one of them! These girls were not trying to be like Coyote, they were just Bachelorette Parties or normal every day girls that just wanted to cut lose. Hot bartenders flared for my friends and i as well. Great Bartenders and an overall crazy time!! I have actually been to Ireland, i have family there, and the pubs there that i have been too definatly compare to McFaddens....so though they may not play the traditional Irish Music, believe it or not this pub is damn close to the real thing!!

Worst bar I've ever been to! Horrible service (nearly impossible to get a drink)! Not much else to say. You will regret going here as I did. Made the mistake of attending a ""VIP"" party a friend ""won"". There was nothing vip about it, couldn't get a drink, weren't cheap like they were supposed to be... dreadful experience. Hilarious how many of my friends have been there and thought the same thing, we had some funny conversations..

This is not an Irish Pub! This is a pathetic attempt at ""Coyote Ugly"". If you like heavy-set women with cankles dancing on the bar right in front of you... then this is definitely your place. The service was horrible and the employees do not pay attention. I've been to this joke of a bar once... and I'll never go back. Which is a shame for them because I drink like a raging alcoholic!

I've been to McFaddens several times and have always had great experiences there! We go for luch a couple times a month and never have had any issues! We'll stop by sometimes after work downtown and have a couple drinks during happy hour. The specials are great! We signed up for a happy hour party just like the guy below did and it clearly has a checkbox to opt in/out of their advertising. I won a happy hour party for my friends and i and had a wonderful time. I got to drink for free and my friends (there was no limit to how many i could invite) got to drink for $2 a drink. Definately sign up for a happy hour party while there!! It is definately the place to be on Friday and Saturday night for the young professional! Wednesday is their ladies night. I would recommend Mcfaddens to anyone! I'm a fan!

New Year Eve was awesome. FSU will be back to the Music City Bowl and return to McFadden's for the awesome music. We were there ever night with DJ CLIFFY D. Best DJ in the South. I would never graduate if he was here in Florida. It would be party every night. Cliffy D is Off the chain.

This is the first time I have reviewed a place and I almost feel bad about the serious thrashing I'm about to give. But, here's the low-down on McFadden's. I have been in the non-irsh pub bar four times. The first time was for lunch with my collegues. Everything was filthy. I literally stuck to the booth and the table. The waitress brought a towel over to wipe the impossible goo off, but the towel looked more like a soot rag than a cleaning tool. They were out of just about everything on the menu and at least half of their beers. The food we did get was mediocre, but we ate it and didn't complain-even though food of that quality should be half the price it was. I figured that it must be a great party spot because they certainly couldn't be know for their dining. So, my girlfriends and I went out one friday night and stopped in. Wow. I've never been so uncomfotable in my life. Not only did it take too long to get drinks, but the bartender, Frank, was a complete D**K. I ordered a Coors light and I watched him pour me a Bud lite. When I protested he said that he ""knew what the h*ll he poured"" and that he was the bartender. Then he demanded I drink it and pay for it because after all ""no one can really tell the difference in those cheap c*** beers anyway"". I hate Bud lite and yes I can tell the difference. I refused to take the beer or to pay for it and we left. There are other horror stroies about the place that I can relate, but I feel like these two experiences are enough to save innocent bystanders from being pulled into that horrible place.

Pros: They do have plasma TVs- that's something, right?

Cons: cleanliness, food, selection (out of a lot of beers and food), bartender-Frank,

We loved this place. The service was good, the food was good and it was worth the drive. We live 20 minutes outside of town and were downtown for once in a blue moon and came across McFadden's...we were glad we stopped in! It was really a lot of fun. They had a great selection of food and drinks- enough to please anyone looking for anything. We were impressed with the atmosphere- it was a really good looking bar. We will be back- next time we're in downtown Nashville- and have already recommended it to all our friends.

I have been to McFadden's about 5 times for lunch and will never go again. Here are the reasons:\r\n\r\n1. This place is not Irish. They have potato soup on the menu, but have only had it ready to serve once. It is okay, but not great. There are no other Irish dishes on the menu.\r\n\r\n2. This is an expensive restaurant, with mediocre food. The chicken tenders are good, but they are $7 without fries. I haven't been for dinner.\r\n\r\n3. I signed up for a drawing for a free party. I was promised my information would not be used for marketing, only for notifying me if I won the party. A week later I received a trashy marketing email. I promptly unsubscribed. A couple weeks later (today) I received a text message on my phone inviting me to ""Pretty in Pink"" night! No thank you. I don't appreciate being spammed continuously despite requesting to be removed from their lists.\r\n\r\n4. I won that party...I turned it down because because the only time slot available for the ""Happy Hour"" was 9-11 on a Friday night. No thanks! \r\n\r\nI don't usually complain, but I had to write something after my bad experiences here. Even though I work two buildings away from McFadden's, I will no longer be a customer.

While bar hopping in Nashville with my soon to be sister-in-law for her Bacholorette party, with a few other girls we ended up at McFadden's. This is the bar we closed down. We had so much fun dancing to the fun music that was played. We danced on the bars and the elevated sides of the booths. Everyone was really friendly and drinks were served non stop, no waiting! We will be going back to party everytime we go to Nashville!

I will never go to McFadden's again. A good friend of mine won an evening where he created a guest list and had his own personal party. Sounded GREAT! We got there and received our tickets with the instructions that we could drink all the domestic beer, well mixed drinks, and house wines that we could from 9-11pm for $10. The friend of mine that won the party was actually denied entrance because he had on white shoes (which was not posted anywhere, and I saw at least 3 other people in the bar with white shoes). It took forever for the bartenders to take my drink order, but I finally got my drink. When my girlfriend went up for her 2nd drink they told her they weren't serving liquor any more. I went to the bar and they told me they were only serving bud light, miller light, and budweiser. We talked to the door lady and she told us we were allowed to get mixed drinks, house wine, and domestic beer like we were originally told was the case. We went back to the bar, and they told us they were not serving us liquor. Thankfully they gave us our money back when we asked and didn't make a big deal about it. I really didn't want to be aggressive about getting my money back, but I was so frustrated at this point I gladly would have done just that. I'm typically such a passive person and would never go to the trouble to write a negative review about a place. But the service was poor, the servers were rude, the atmosphere was tense and trashy. I can't stand the bars on 2nd, and this is yet another example of why I never go downtown.

A group of friends went to McFaddens before a concert thinking it was an Irish Pub. A couple of posters and Shephards Pie on the menu does not in my opinion constitute as being an Irish Pub. Took forever for a server (around 6:30PM) and service wasn't stellar-brought the entire table of 6 one empty ketschup bottle and we had to ask for silverware and napkins after our food was brought out. Food was okay but not worth the $10 bucks for a burger or $14 bucks for fish tacos that were described as catfish but didn't taste like it. Four Miller Lite's and two sandwiches cost $50 bucks! Insane. Especially since at that time it's Happy Hour at every single bar downtown. As the waitress delivered our check she said, ""sorry, we're down a server tonight and it's crazy"". Didn't seem crazy. Plus, now is not the time to announce that. Being down a server has nothing to do with giving a visibly empty ketschup bottle and all the other problems we had. \r\nIt may be an okay place to hang out late night but to me it's the same ol same ol like everything on 2nd and Broad. I was really hoping this one was going to stand out. We won't go back, why bother. There's 10 other joints just like it with cheaper typical bar food and great beer specials\r\nI'm pretty easy going and have never written a bad review but this one had to be told. What a let down
