Love the takeout menu! I go on weeknights sometimes when I want something quick. I call literally 5 minutes before I arrive, and grab something to go! It's always so delicious. My favorite takeout item is "MoMs Lasagna". They give you delicious fresh bread, oil & vinegar. There is special parking for pickup orders, and a side door entry. Its great! Will be back!

We took our daughter to dinner at Maggiano's for her birthday which we have for the past two years. This was my second time over the last three months to go where the service was awful. The waiter had more tables than he could handle, the hostess filled our glasses with water and ended up gettin gus bread after we sat there for ten minutes. The food was tasteless and the service was very slow and this was a Tuesday night. For what we paid for four people to eat and have drinks I could find a better place with better service. We felt cramped, took forever to get drinks and again the food was ok. Will not return as sad as that is.

Absolutely one of my favorite restraunts! The service is always spectacular and the food is phenomenal! The lobster raviolli is amazing! As is the chicken parmesian and many of their other platters. Truely authenic Italian!

Maggiano's is one of my very favorite places to eat. I have eaten here more times than I can count, and it has always been delicious. The lasagna is okay, but not one of my favorites - it has too much sausage and is really too large to eat without making a mess. The Rigatoni D is good, but I really prefer the richer tomato-based dishes. The gnocchi in vodka sauce, eggplant parmesan, and four cheese ravioli are all scrumptious. My sister loves the chicken and spinach manicotti, and my dad loves the fettucine alfredo and their filet mignon. My mom loves all of my favorites. The mozzarella marinara and parmesan garlic bread are great appetizers. The chocolate cake was a bit too alcoholic for my personal taste, but the special daily desserts like the cannoli cream cake and chocolate peanut butter dessert are great - I'm just waiting for regular cannoli to make it onto the menu. I still want to try more dishes, but my favorites are so yummy that I have a hard time trying something else. I can't wait to go back.

Pros: Gnocchi, other classic Italian dishes

Cons: Parking is inconvenient, bathrooms downstairs

I was surprised to learn that Maggiano's is a chain and was even more impressed after my dining experience. The food is top notch, very fresh and authentic, and our server was charming, attentive, and knowledgeable. We visited on a crowded Friday night and never felt rushed.

Maggiano's is amazing! The food is wonderful. I have never ordered anything from here that I didn't love. The prices are very reasonable as well. They serve individual meals (of course) but they also have family style meals where you can order enough food for the entire family. They have many good choices and the family style is cheap for the amount of food that you can get. Maggiano's is also great for parties. It's a low cost for the amount of food that you get and they also have all you can eat when you have a party there!

My husband and I eat at Maggianos all the time. We use to go for special occasions but now when we go out, there is no fighting about where. At my age, I was not wild about the stairs until I was escorted to the Elevator! This place is an A+

I found the food to be plentiful and delicious. Price was comparable to restaurants such as Carrabba's, and Olive Garden. Sides are extra but you already have plenty with just the main course. Atmosphere was wonderful. Service was excellent. Drinks stayed full. Pops was a wonderful server

This place really sets the bar for large Italian restaurants. I still wish I could find an Italin family run, stand a lone, family recipe, non chain, un-franchised restaurant with excellent food. Until then, meet me at Maggiono's!!!!!

I recently went to Maggianos for the first time just before Christmas. The decor was fantastic. I had reservations for 5:00 but wasn't seated until 5:30. I'm attributing the tardiness to the amount of people opening presents thus taking longer than normal. At any rate, we received a complementary appetizer because of it. That was the only issue that we had the whole time which was reconciled quickly with the best mussels that I've ever had. The food was absolutely fantastic and the service was right along with it. While my wife was out feeding our new baby one of the managers came by to ask if he could take the food to the back to keep it warm. That's never happened anywhere that I've been to. The wait staff was very attentive without being overbearing. From the app to dessert nothing was a disappointment. We will definitely be visiting again soon.

We have been planning a trip to Maggiano's for some time. We finally visited on a Sunday and were pleased to see there was no wait. But even with a half-empty restaurant our service was glacial (but polite). The food was a mixed bag: the bread was stale, the zucchini succulent, the linguine with clam sauce was too salty, the eggplant parmesan was bland, the chocolate zuccotto cake was superb and the cappuccino was cold. Portions are large but the quality is mediocre. We won't be going back.

If you are looking for a good night out I would try somewhere else. The food was sub-par with service that is in need of some improvement. And to top it all off the piano player will make it very hard to carry on a conversion.

For anyone who said Maggiano's doesn't take reservations, yes it does, online no less, Open Table.

That said, we've wanted to try Maggiano's since it was built. The atmosphere is great. The staff was nice. The appetizer was superb. The mixed cocktails were fabulous. That's it. I picked veal marsala and it was very salty. I make better marsala all the time, saute some mushrooms, saute the meat, and then simmer it in marsala (add a smattering of cream if you're feeling special). Not hard. But marsala is my benchmark for Italian. If this easy dish is that bad, how bad is the rest of it? The special menu had mac-n-cheese on it. It's made with cheese, ziti pasta, and bacon. It wasn't creamy at all; it was more of a cheese "sauce". Pancetta would've been better. The pasta was al dente, but to me, that's not mac-n-cheese. Call it something else. You would be better armed to understand if it was at least called "Italian style" mac-n-cheese. He had something with incredibly tender beef on it that he loved, disliked the sauce and pasta it was on. When he was done he said "Ok, we've tried it and we never have to come back". Yep, I agree.

We have decided we'll use the bar and come in for before dinner drinks or after dinner desserts, those were hands-down great.

This is one of my favorite restuarants to eat at with a group, admittedly a small group, but the portions are so large you have to share. The resturant itself is lovely, the service is always great, and I've yet to try anything from the menu that I didn't like. Prices are quite reasonable for the amount of food you receive.

This restaurant has the BEST chicken parmeasean in te he Nashville area! I love going for the atmosphere; they have live music most nights, but knowing that all of the food is good, I still always stick with the chicken parmeasean! I tried it once at another well known restaurant (for the way they cook in the guests view), but I was not impressed. NOTHING CAN COMPARE TO MAGIANO'S CHICKEN PARMESEAN!!!!!

My husband and I went for a date night there. I got lasagna and my husband got shrimp pasta. Both dishes were huge so we had leftovers. We also got the spinach salad which was huge! And it was really good. We had bread and dipping oil to start with and we finished with the tiramisu and I had a cocktail. It was definitely a feast. The service was excellent and it had a relaxed feel, even though it's a big place. I think next time we go, we will bring a group for the family style because it would be nice to have a little bit of everything. You pay $25 a person and get a lot of food to share.

Don't show up hungry! For some reason no one seems to be able to get Italian right down south, even in chain restaurants. I was invited to a company dinner with high hopes for Maggiano's after hearing it was decent, but ended the evening sorely disappointed. I ordered a steak medium rare, which to me means it should be red in the middle and warm. What I got was the dark side of medium, COLD and tasteless, as if it had been unseasoned, unattended on the grill, and then sat on some back table waiting to be picked up for 15 minutes. My dish was the last of 9 to arrive to the table so everyone was already eating by the time mine showed up. I would've just eaten it had it been warm but it was borderline boot-leather, so I asked for it to be redone. TWENTY MINUTES later my new dish arrived... cooked MID WELL and barely warm- AGAIN. Keep in mind this was on a Tuesday evening, not exactly a bustling shift. I tried to catch the waiter after 15 minutes of waiting for the second attempt and ask for the order to be cancelled. It was brought to the table by dessert time anyhow but he volunteered to take it off the bill without hesitation. I understand that steak is not a "traditional Italian" meal, but if you fail at steak, why would a customer come back to try anything else? Thus my evening at Maggiano's consisted of sipping a tiny pour of Riesling while nibbling on appetizer salad watching everyone else eat. I will not be back unless another business function forces me to try an encore. Here are the HIGHLIGHTS: attentive waiter, stuffed mushrooms, tiramisu, ambiance. LOW POINTS: flavorless steak, uninteresting menu, lengthy wait times for food, small pours. I'm being generous with 3 stars only because my husband & other dinner companions said their dishes were decent and did not have any issues with their order. According to others, the crabcakes were "okay" and the lasagna was "good".

Do not go early for dinner unless you want stale bread from lunch served before your meal. Do not order a glass of wine unless you want a laughable pour. Do not go if you prefer quality over quantity. Do not go if you like good service and knowledgable servers. Do not go unless you had been planning on a subpar Italian buffet style meal anyway. Valentino's is great, Caesars is good, Amerigo's is alright, Maggiano's is a huge crummy chain. Avoid it unless you want to loosen your belt and shovel in the slop.

The food is okay the portions are very large, my issue was the waitress would not come back to the table and take our drink orders, when she finally brought the bill she spilled a full glass of water on me, so I got to ride home soaking wet! I think Betty Ford is running the bar!

I absolutely love this restaurant. From the wonderful selection of food to the atmosphere of the restaurant itself you cannot go wrong with Maggianos. It is pretty much a guarantee that you will leave here with a full stomach and a doggie bag. This restaurant is great to bring a group of people to split the family special. Only drawback is the wait time to get in if you don't have a reservation- so definitely make one. Maggianos is always at the top of my list for special occasions.

Bad experience?the food was second-rate; several dishes were bland & tasteless, so the large portions were worthless. The service was just fair, wait staff was not friendly and the tables were so close together they could not ?serve? us. Waiters had to reach across people to pour water and we had to pass the entrees we ordered to each other. Guess they expect everyone to do family style. This is very poor quality Italian food certainly not . My Italian mother-in-law can doctor-up Ragu sauces to taste better than this food. We will not go back and could never recommend this to others.

I try not to eat at chain restaurants. I almost didn't eat there because I equated it with the major Italian chain known for their salads and breadsticks. However, we went there for my birthday and were pleasantly surprised. I had a chocolate martini at the bar, which was sweet but not too sweet. The bartender was friendly. We did not have an appetizer. But I ordered traditional gnocchi, and it was just like what I used to eat as a kid in Chicago. I have high standards for Italian, but this "chain" restaurant was delightful. My boyfriend ordered a seafood arribiata, and he loved it. The prices seem high at first for Italian, but then the food comes out. The dishes are 3X the size of what most restaurants in this price range offfer. We brought home leftovers that we literally ate for two days. The waiter was okay, but he was pretyt busy. Sometimes we were overlooked for larger parties. Overall, this place is fantastic.

WOW! This place is amazing. My husband and I went on a Sunday evening (6:00 reservations) to celebrate our 7th wedding anniversary. The setting was mellow and romantic, perfect for what we were hoping and expecting. The host staff were very friendly and accomodating. Most everything has the option of 1/2 or whole order. I ordered the 1/2 order Garlic Shrimp Linguini. The shrimp were plump and juicy. My husband ordered the 1/2 order Roasted Chicken and Vesuvio Potatoes. We SHARED a 1/2 order of ceasar salad. The food was very tasty and well presented. What amazed us is that we ordered 1/2 of everything, and yet we took home 3 to-go boxes of leftover food! I guess excess food is the Italian way. We were very pleased. For dessert I ordered the Spumoni. THE BEST. This was the highlight of the night! I mean our dinner was perfect but this was the best spumoni I have ever tried: it was a huge 3 scoop serving and it had chunks of chocolate chips and real cherries. We had a pleasant evening and I am already making plans to go back in October for my birthday, taking a group and taking advantage of the family-style menu. The only negative thing I could say is regarding our server. He was a nice kid, but he seemed like a college kid who just rolled out of bed just in time for his evening shift. His hair wasn't well-groomed and he seemed stumped when we asked him the Martini of the Month and the Catch of the Day. But he was nice and took pretty decent care of us. He just lacked in personality. Maybe he was tired. There was a woman (a server's assistant i presume) who brought our bread, olive oil, and kept our water glasses filled and cleared our table. VERY GOOD PLACE TO EAT!!!!!

Pros: ambience, food

.

I loved this place the first time I walked in (Charlotte, NC) and now Nashville boasts the same enjoyment of a "little Italy". The atmosphere is classic Italian. Thick creamed walls lined with wide dark wood trim along with all the music a Godfather movie could compulate. Every dish is huge. Plates of pasta in all shapes and forms with any grandmama's sauce you could imagine, but better. Fresh herbs with thick butter and creams. Fresh vegetables, meats and seafood make every dish "MMWAHH" (a kiss) And the deserts...ahh, perfert paradise!! Prepare to dine like "Vito and Tony". The prices are perfect for the amount, because everyone can share and take extra servings home. Valet is perfect, but self parking in back is just as convenient.

My husband and I frequent here at least two times a month. They offer a monthly special that keeps you coming back for more. The atmosphere is dressy casual. The staff is always plesant and knowledgeable of the items on the menu. Would recommend for a special date night or a family affair!

As a former Nashvillian and current West Tennessean, I thought I already knew the best places to eat in town. My *large* family (extended and all) recently celebrated my sister's 21st birthday at Maggiano's. The parking does leave a lot to be desired, but they do have valet free at lunch and I believe $5 for dinner. Not so bad. If you choose to park, be prepared for a walk. Book reservations well in advance! We did not and for about 10+ people and 7 days in advance, we did great getting an 8:30 reservation on a Saturday night during Thanksgiving season. I love that you can choose to order "family style" or "individually." If you choose to order family style, you get to pick 2 appetizers, 2 entrees, 2 salads, 2 pastas and 2 desserts. They serve you in monstrous family-sized bowls and everyone does the pass around. It is extra to order the crab cakes or the beef family style, but oh so worth it. The crab cakes are fabulous. Trust me when I say, no matter how you order, you will leave without wanting to eat for about 3 days. We had crab cakes and stuffed mushrooms ( ***** crab cakes, I don't eat mushrooms), caesar and house salads (caesar was excellent), spaghetti and meatballs and shrimp arrabiata, chicken florentine and the filet with mushrooms, the profiteroles (did not like those, should've picked tiramisu) and a choclate torte-y cake very much like Sunset Grill's chocolate bombe. Our service was excellent, we were ready to be seated as soon as the entire party arrived. My only complaints are that even at 9:30 it was still quite noisy, and you need hiking boots to get to the bathrooms, which are downstairs (the stairs are never-ending). With just potty trained 2 and 3 year old boys I was verrrrrry nervous about the bathroom locations. :-) Speaking of, the kids menu is also affordable and tasty, which is rare of kids' menus imho. Even kids' portions are huge, so beware. I can't wait to go back for my own birthday in a few weeks.

The food was amazing but the portions are above and beyond what any normal human could eat. We had reservations for 8:30 but weren't seated until 9:05. We were called and they apologized for the wait and gave us free dessert. We didn't even have to say anything! That was a nice surprise! If you plan on going, sign up online as a member and they will instantly send you a free appetizer coupon. The ravioli, lasagna and chicken pesto linguini are all wonderful!! The lasagna looked to be about 4 pounds so be prepared to leave with a to go box. The staff was very professional, friendly and accomodating. I am not a fan of chain restaurants as they usually serve decent food (at best) but Maggiano's rises above the rest. I would highly recommend it!

Lunch or Dinner, Carryout or eat in this place is delicious. I recommend not eating for a few days if you plan on ordering from anything but the appetizer menu!! Seriously though the food amount is over the top. I love the appetizer bruscetta its delicious. I also love to eat in the piano bar area if you can get there and get a seat the music is great but it does get extremely crowded.

In the past few months we have visited Maggiano's twice, both times leaving with a full stomach but completely disappointed. The first time the service was absolutely horrible and the second time was even worse! We were seated and greated by someone not our server whom informed us that our waitress would be with us shortly. Shortly turned into 15 minutes, another drink turned into another 15 minutes and thus continued our night. Our waitress was awful and in speaking with the manager the only thing he provided was that he apoligized for our poor service and a thanks for the compliment. As if we were speaking to him to assist him with managing his employees. Quite frankly don't waste your time with this one unless you are prepared for very sub-par service and decent food.

For around $50, my husband and I had the wonderful fried mozzarella appetizer, the ceasar salad (which wasn't as special to me as other reviewers have noted), an entree each, and we split the delicious cheesecake for dessert. I highly recommend the 4 cheese ravioli or the lasagna that my husband had, if you don't mind a very, very heavy meal. We had leftovers for two meals afterwards. A little noisy and cramped, but that's a little indicative of a good Italian restaurant. Definitely try to sit at a booth and definitely make reservations.

Maggiano's is a tale of two restaurants, one good, the other nauseating. It all depends on what you order. For example, if you order spaghetti, you will receive a massive, massive bowl of rubbery noodles and bland meat sauce. If you order the gnocchi in the tomato-vodka sauce, you will receive a huge portion of delicious, tangy pasta with a taste/texture combination to die for. Even with the salads, the line between "meh" and "wow" is thin. Ceasar - wow, Maggiano's salad - meh, albeit a whole lot of "meh." So choose wisely, dear diner, but be prepared to leave in a barely-ambulatory state. Fat or thin, large appetite or small, for better or worse, you WILL be filled up and will most likely leave vowing not to eat for the next three days.

Now for the other, not-as-important stuff. Service has always been timely and very professional. Make reservations, for the love of God. The decor is magnificent, although the incessant generic italian music wears thin after the first visit.

Personal recommendations: Gnocchi (first and foremost!), Chicken and Spinach manicottis, Caesar salad, four cheese ravioli, lasagna

Everything was perfect!! We were seated at the exact time of our reservation on a busy Saturday night, even with a few prom parties! Our waiter was splendid. The Fried Zuccini was delicious as well as the Lasagna and the Chicken and Spinach Manicotti. Don't forget the Seasonal Cheescake!! And make sure you enjoy a bottle of wine with your meal. Nothing is overpriced, even the wine. Not like some places that charge you an arm and a leg for it. Go try this place. The atmosphere and the grub is absolutely delicious. Will be back soon.

It is now close to a year since my last review and all I can say is WOW! Every meal without exception has been glorious; wonderful; the Best. Service has always been exemplary and I can honestly say that my family and friends have had nothing but glowing reports on this restaurant. I don't know how they do it, but whether it's the Italian food, the meat dishes, fish or chicken, the results are always the same: GREAT. I am a connoisseur of fine dining and a Master on Sicilian food and I give Maggiano's the highest rating possible. Kudos to the Chef; Lee the General Manager; Tony the Asst. Manager and to the entire staff including the wonderful vocalist and musician. They are an unbeatable team; the Super Bowl winners of restaurants in Nashville.

I couldn't believe this place had such a low rating. I went for my birthday, and we had so much wonderful food that we took some home and ate leftovers, and I don't really eat leftovers. The piano bar is enjoyable if you can score a seat in the bar. There is also an awesome patio where I will sit next time; weather permitting. We didn't make reservations and they told us it would be an hour, but after about ten minutes of waiting we got a booth in the piano bar. The manicotti is to die for and the mushroom ravioli is excellent. we loved it!!
