Do not take your car here under any circumstances. The employees may appear polite and friendly, but their prices are at least twice the standard charges. I took my car here for a diagnostic. The mechanic was able to identify the problem

It is always hard to walk into a service shop when you are a young female who doesn't know much about cars. It is a very vulnerable feeling. I had been told that Reliance Auto would treat me well. My 2001 VW Jetta needed a new starter and new spark plugs and wires. Tammy, the woman who mans the desk, called me and told me that to fix everything the total price would be 930$ (including service and parts). This seemed pricey to me, but I am used to VW repair's being expensive, so I said to go ahead and fix it. When I went to pick up my car two days later, the man who was there told me the price was almost 1200$. I asked why it was all of a sudden more money, and he explained to me that the original price included the price of a starter that did not fit my car and the one that did was more expensive. I asked why no one had called to check if that was ok with me, and he said that Tammy should have called me. I paid the 1200$ (stupid) and got in my car to drive away. I noticed immediatly that seatbelt sound did not turn off when I put my seatbelt on (ding, ding, ding) and that the interior light would not shut off. He said he would have to look into it and in the meantime he rented me a car (which was nice). I called later that day and asked Tammy why she had not called and told me about the increased price and her answer was that the quoted price did not include service and parts. I guess she did not get the story straight with the gentleman who told me the starter was a different price. She also informed me that the electrical problems my car was having had nothing to do with the service they did on it. I found this very very hard to believe. They did not back down and refused to pay for the electical parts. Bottom line, I feel that I got screwed over on multiple levels from Reliance Automotive and I will NOT be recommending them to my friends.\r

Pros: rented me a car

Cons: lied to me and did not admit mistake
