My Husband and I hired Columbia Heating & Cooling in July 2011. Our A/C went out the week before our wedding and we were having family and friends coming to stay with us. They came out the next day to fix our A/C. They charged us $125 just to come out to look at our a/c unit and we were on a very tight budget. They quoted us $1,300 to get it up and running. Stating we needed new duct work and all kinds of other things. I pleaded with them that I did not have a lot of money and my wedding was in 3 days. They then said it will cost you $661 to get us up and running again. We agreed and they fixed us right up. Now two years later our a/c goes out again. We contact them and they stated they would charge us $325 just to come out to take a look. We called someone else. We were advised we needed a new Caparitor and it would cost us only $60 for the part. We went and dug out our old receipt from Columbia Heating and Cooling to see what they fixed on our a/c unti 2 years prior and it was the same thing. Columiba Heating and Cooling charged us $279.74 and they new company only charged us $60. We googled the part online and it was only $50. I feel completely robbed by Columbia Heating and Cooling! My Husband and I bought our first home in May 2011 and we had no clue they were over pricing. We trusted them to do the right thing and they just took advantage of us. We had so much money going out to pay for final wedding costs and they seen an oppurtunity to take from us. I will never recommend this company to anyone and I advise you to do your research prior to paying for anything. We were so new to this and were still learning. We payed over $600 more total than we should have using this company

had used them before and they had limped along my old furnace. Finally purchased new one and it's made a huge differance in my utilities. Everytime some one came they were very curtious and thurough. Will deffinately buy the a.c. from them when ot quits. the install guy's were very tidy and put drop clothes down and wore boot covers. THANK YOU

My air conditioner is working now, after a pretty steep chunk of cash came out of my pocket, but before they left my house we had a discussion about how to bill my service. I asked them to split it between two cards (service on one, the two year maintenance contract I signed up for on the other) because I didn't have enough room on one card for both. You can guess what happened, and I've spent the morning dealing with other bills that bounced because of that mistake. I called them, asked them to review the receipt, and they told me "yes, we realized the mistake, and credited it back immediately". That's well and good, but the hold was already created for the full amount, and I was upset that the error was made in the first place causing me to have to spend my morning dealing with the fallout. I asked to be taken off the program for repeated maintenance, and was suddenly confronted by an angry and frustrated man who told me this was all Discover's fault and that they were trying to screw me. Nice. I asked him to either take me off the program, or redirect my call to someone above him, and he REALLY didn't like that, finishing the conversation with "You got anything else to say to me?". If I don't get my refund, they'll be hearing from the BBB. Do yourself a favor, don't mess with this company, you'll be happy you went with someone else.
