gave this place one star but only because I had to give it something to post. should be a star MINUS.

I did not have a good experience at the art museum. went for a school assignment to study some pieces. For a place which wants to expose the public to art, they seem to be slightrly anal about not allowing pictures to be taken of the work. For a busy student who also works a 10 hour job, I don't have hours to spend and after observing a piece and taking some notes, I just wanted to take a pic so I could reference it later to tweak what I would write. I pulled out my cell to take a pic and one of the museum workers actually came over told me I had to erase the pic, and stood looking over my shoulder while I did. I thought it was incredibly rude. And they also make a big deal out of not allowing pens to be used. are there rampant graffiti artists lurking , waiting to get in and deface exhibits. If someone wanted to ruin a piece, wouldn't a lipstick or mascara work just as well? I know there are nuts out there who feel they have a right to deface others' work because of their own personal beleifs, and I was willing to accept the no pens rule and did refrain from using the one I brought, but no pics?
won't be going back. art is meant to be viewed and appreciated not hidden away with access limited.

The art museum always has something interesting on exhibit. If you enjoy art, you would enjoy visiting here. They have many exhibits from local artists--from professional to children in the community. It is definitely a place that everyone should visit at least once. I like to go see what's new at the art museum whenever I get the chance.

This is a great museum but it is a little on the small side. However, you have to remember that you are in a smaller size town and therefore cannot expect a huge museum.

They have many different artistic showcases, including those with paintings, watercolor, sculpture and prints.

Admission is free but donations are encouraged.

It's worth a couple of hours of your time, so if you are into art and haven't been here yet, definitely take the time to make a visit. Parking is free and abundant.
