Anyone looking to buy a car from several states away has to be ready for many challenges. First and foremost you want to deal with people who are honest. You also want people who are knowledgeable, communicate quickly, and who understand that it is a big deal to drop serious coin on a vehicle that you cant drive, hear, or see in person before you buy it. I found Daniel Schmitt & Co to be all of these things. The salesman I worked with, John Sherman, was sensitive to my needs and many questions, always got back to me quickly, and even gave me his cell number and said he was available 24 hours a day. Once he returned my call on the road on his day off. After making a non-refundable deposit I realized that the car I bought was not going to work out for me after all. I asked for a refund of the deposit and they gave it to me even though they were not obligated to do so. This was handled by their customer service manager Chloe. When their bank charged me another $1,000 by error they were very quick and responsive it accepting responsibility; Chloe corrected the situation right away and she always replied to may calls and emails on the same day. This is the kind of business you want to deal with when buying a classic car from a distance. I highly recommend Daniel Schmitt & Co.

I thoroughly enjoyed the smooth transaction the Daniel Schmitt & Co team offered. I would highly recommend them to any collector or first-time buyer. They helped organize shipping and my Porsche arrived exactly as described. I'm looking forward to working with them again in the near future.

I bought 2 cars from Daniel Schmitt over the past three years or so, and was more than happy with both. The salesperson was extremely helpful, and knew a lot about cars in general.
They also had a lot of cars to choose from, and I think if you're in the market for a sportscar or a classic, you should definitely give this place a try!

I've never done one of these before, but because I had such a great experience at Daniel Schmitt Car Gallery, I had to share.

I bought my current 2005 Mercedes site unseen. The photos and description were thorough, but still I hadn't seen it in person. I have never done that before, so it was both nerve racking and exciting.

When the car arrived it felt like Christmas day. And the car was more beautiful than the photos! I love my car!

I bought a '78 Caddy from Schmitt a few months back. I collect old cars and I'm pretty particular, so I flew in (they are right over by Lambert airport in St. Louis) and looked it. There people there were very accommodating - picked me up at the airport, got me a cup of coffee at the showroom (that's a big thing for me), had the car set up and detailed, indoors and ready for my arrival. When I got there, there were still a few guys in the showroom making sure it was spotless. I carefully looked over the car - it was right as the salesman described. I did find a small cut in the passenger seat - like someone sat in it and their keys went through the leather - they had it fixed before they shipped the car out to me. After I was done signing the paperwork and paid for the car, my salesman took me out to lunch and dropped me back off at the airport in time for my return flight. It was a VERY smooth transaction. I had some extra time before lunch and wandered the lots and showrooms a bit - nice cars, nice location - wish I had more cash to spend! A few days later I got word from the salesman that my car would be shipping out to me. It arrived just as I saw it last. I was impressed with the service and vehicle. Will return for future purchases.

I'd been looking for a nice 280SL as a gift to my wife for a while, and I knew she'd love the red one I found. I called Daniel Schmitt & Co. (the number on here is wrong- it should be 314-291-7000) and they were helpful and nice. I put a deposit on the car and signed some forms, then went to the bank to pay.
This was my first car purchase online - sight unseen. I was nervous! Joe, my salesman, helped to make me feel more comfortable, especially when I knew I was buying the car "as-is". These cars aren't cheap, so I was scared to send so much money via wire, but their eBay ratings and the rapport I had with the staff were good.
About a week later I received the car via the transporter the company set up. I was impressed, to say the least. The car was well-detailed, drove well, and my wife was thrilled. She's considering showing it, although we're not into the whole gearhead mentality.
I also bought a warranty on the car - AutoSave. Seemed like a good idea - I know my wife was more comfortable that way. She darn near throttled me when she found out I bought the car without seeing it.
Anyway, GREAT staff, GREAT cars, GREAT experience. Have recommended to others and will continue to do so.

Cons: not your average dealership. Maybe that's a pro?

Recetly bought a car from Joe at Daniel Schmitt - great guy! Car (1966 Ford Mustang - my new baby) was exactly as described in the ads and from the salesman. I had a slight problem with something minor, and the crew there got it taken care of - no worries.
Apparently they sell all over - there was a guy in from Denmark and another in from Cali the say I was there.
Great for a visit, as well. The people are friendly and the cars are awesome.

I purchased a 1967 Camaro from Chris Snyder the Sales manager at Daniel Schmidt. The car was a total wreck but described as a fabulous cosmetic restoration with NO RUST. This could not have been further from the truth. Chris actually sent me an email saying it was the best 1967 Camaro he had seen in a long time. WHew what a lier!!! I put it on the hoist and there was nothing but rust and after some investigation it was clear the car had been in a serious accident.....none of this described to me after many questions about the condition f this car

I have pictures of the undercarriage with nothing but rust.In fact so much Rust it did not pass the local drivers safety tests. I have had no response from these people and in my attempts to contact the owner I have been stone walled.

Do NOT DEAL WITH THESE PEOPLE!!!!!

Over the oast few years I bought two different Jeep 4 wheel drive vehicles for my daughters to take to college. We looked at Schmitt because we had bought there before and had a good experience. I might add, the showrooms are fabulous. We
