We moved to St. Louis for my husband's job for 6 months and wished we had stayed somewhere else. We had problems with the stove and the garbage disposal quit working the first week we moved in. My husband called the aparment complex office

I have been a resident for 6 months. The apartment we moved into is not the one we were told we were getting. To start off in our new "home" for the time being I had to call directv, att, ameren, insurance company, etc... to have my address changed that I had set appointments up, renters insurance, and electric switched over. After we moved in, my shower handle was broken. I had never even used it. It took over a week to get it fixed. There is NEVER enough parking at my building. The apartments are poorly insulated... causing outrageous electric bills. I recently sent in my rent for January 2012 and put it in on the 25th of December because I was going to be out of town. I wrote on the envelope "I will be out of town, to avoid late fee's I am putting my check in now. Please do not send through until the 1st." They sent it on the 29th and it sent back. THEN they said I owed then $1250 for late fees and a court charge. I've tried for over a week to contact the assistant manager and she NEVER calls me back. She is either "on lunch" or "out of her office."
THIS PLACE IS HORRIBLE AND "PROFESSIONAL" SCAMMERS. I WOULDN'T RECOMMEND IT TO ANYONE!

Hi, my name is Bree...and I'm a Pheasant Run resident. (tear tear, sniff sniff).

Thankfully, my husband and I have found better living conditions and are moving out. When we moved in, we had the intention that we would stay here for at least two years maybe three, but after just one year, we simply can't take it anymore.
If you've been reading up on other reviews, (which I failed to do) you've probably have come across a large list of cons. I can confirm they're all true. The apartment smelled like smoke b/c our neighbors smoked, walls and windows are paper thin causing you to hear all conversations around you, it takes a VERY LONG time for maintenance to fix any repairs (we had a leaky roof for MONTHS)...I can go on and on.
Even though we're thankful our obnoxious neighbors have moved out from down below, the car alarms and wasps outside our doors and windows are enough to drive anyone crazy!
I understand the rent is affordable for the size, and the staff is sweet, but there is a reason and sweetness only gets you so far. I STRONGLY suggest that you look elsewhere...if you choose not to, well than all I can say is, "Good luck!" Make sure to have some Raid on hand at all times, and don't forget your ear plugs, because that's the only way you'll get any sleep.

Pros: Size, location

Cons: How much time do you got?

i lived at pheasant run apartments for two years before and wanted to go back. i went 2 months before the move in and set it all up. upon move in, i paid $890 for first months rent and all the other stuff, signed the lease and moved a few things in. then they tell me their key cutting machine is down so i have to wait 1 day get my keys. (one move in day gone) i get a voicemail telling me that my apartment failed inspection (?) and that they were giving me a new address. i looked at the new apartment that had NO DECK but a PATIO SURROUNDED BY COMPOST and backed up to another building and rejected it. when i told them this they said they had one with a deck, but i was done. they said they would mail my money to me but its been a week and a half and no check. they wasted a 4 day weekend move in and act like nothing happened! if they would maintain their apartments like they should, this would not have happened. THIS IS A HORRIBLE COMPANY!

Pros: location, decks (huge!)

Cons: company that operates it, can't pass inspection

This apartment complex is fairly nice, although I did encounter quite a few little maintenance issues during my stay there. One big maintenance issue was handled well by the staff and management there, so they are good about that.

The lake is nice and some apartments have huge decks overlooking the lakes, which is a unique feature. There is a walking trail around the lake as well.

Overall this is a good community if you are looking for an average priced apartment in the Westport/Maryland Heights area.
