DR. HOANG is the biggest piece of s%&* dentist out there!!! I went in because one tooth needed to be extracted!!! When i they brought me back to take exrays everything was very dirty!! One of the girls who works in the back was talking about a bad expicit episode she had the night before!!! Finally after the ex rays i sat in the room for 32 minutes before any one came in!! When dr. hoang came in she told me i needed two teeth pulled and 13 fillings!!! it was 4:00 and i told her i had to pick my daughters up from university place by six!! She proceeded to tell me that it would not take that long and that it was urgent that i have it done!! Which is funny because i dont remember having any cavities and i take very good care of my teeth!! the only reason i went to her office is because I recently quit work to go back to school and im now on DSHS!!! any ways it took two and half hours!! the entire time i was screaming and crying in pain!! dr. hoang gave me so many shots of pain med it still didnt work!! i noticed too that when she brought the tray in that the tool she used to give the Novocaine shot with was half empty and looked as if she had just used it!! after all the agony and pain i left with my face swollen and in lots of pain!!! the next day i woke up and my mouth was completely full of sores from every injection site!! at first i though maybe this is normal but the sores became worse and worse it hurt so bad that i could not eat nothing i went to my doctors office and they swabbed my mouth !! the test results came back as Type 1 Canker sores which is a nice way of saying HERPES in the mouth!! I could not eat for two weeks lost like 15 lbs. And now to top it all off its been a month and a half since then, and MY fillings in my front teeth fell out from eating a PB J sandwich and i look f_ing toothless!! Thanks beeech for leaving me diseased and toothless!!! i would never recommend this place to my worst enemy!! I will never go back there i have my lawyer working on a case i will be suing the s*&^% out of DR. HOANG

I had just gotten on dshs medical cupons and decided that I should probly go and get my teeth cleaned considering that i had not gotten them clean in a couple of years( couldnt afford it) Mind you that i did not go cause my teeth hurt..... I felt fine!!! I set an appointment and went in. I got my x-rays done (waited in a room for an hour, finally had to grab someone aand ask if they forgot about me) they found that i had three cavitys that needed to be filled... ok set the appointment and went in 3 days latter. They gave me numbing medicine and not but two min latter she was trying to drill on me, i ask arnt you going to make sure that im numb and she said no your fine we will find out when we start.....OH HELL NO I SAID i want to know before you start. 5 shots later (it takes alot which i told her in the begining) she starts drilling on my teeth.
She had my mouth so wide open the whole time that it split each side of my mouth open and was bleeding to which she said nothing just whiped it off and kept going. Also she chipped my front tooth while she was drilling and did not say N E thing even when i showed it to her. I brought it to her attention and she said oh its so small no one will notice. I was so thankfull to get out of there.
That whole night I was in agony and had a splitting head ache and thought that my jaw was going to fall off do to how deep she gave me the shots and having my mouth open for so long. The worst part is.... I have to go back cause one of my fillings just fell out and i haove not been able to eat or have N E hot or cold on my right side which is where she drilled its agonizing. I WAS FINE BEFORE I WENT IN NOW IM ALWAYS UNCOMFORTABLE CAUSE I HAVE TO CHEW ON ONE SIDE WHEN IM USED TO CHEWING ON BOTH. im terrified to go back but i dont have medical coupons to N E more and they said that they will fix it for free, im forced to go back to a place were they should not even be practicing medicine. These people need to be shut down and pay another dentists to fix their faulty work. DONT GO HERE PLEASE!!!!

Dr. Hoang should not be allowed to practice.
I went in with a valpak coupon to get a cleaning. I was a bad girl and hadn't had a cleaning in ten years. They said I had done a good job keeping my mouth healthy.
I was taken to an exam room and made to wait forever. I finally started roaming the hallway to find an employee when a girl came and got me to do my x-rays. She said I could leave my stuff in the exam room while I was gone. I came back to find two people sitting in my exam room waiting to be seen. Luckily nothing was missing. The entire time I was having my x-rays done the girls in the back were gossiping and talking about how rude one of the dentists who works there is. I don't think I've ever seen this level of unprofessional behavior anywhere else.
I had some fillings that needed to be taken care of. Okay! Let's do it. They cranked my mouth open so far it was very, very unpleasant. (The next morning my husband had to rush me to the emergency room because I thought I was having a stroke. My head hurt so bad the nurses thought I was having an aneurysm. It was the most horrible thing I have ever dealt with and it turned out to be a tension headache from my jaw.)
They filled 6 fillings at the same time, which according to my doctor is a lot! 3 were metal and 3 were a composite material. While drilling my molar to put in the filling Dr. Hoang broke of the back of my tooth and then advised me that I would probably require a root canal. Duh, really? I bet I do now!
Skip ahead to February of 2009. While sitting at the movies I dropped a metal filling out in my hand. May of 2009 I lost another one. June of 2009 I lost my last metal filling. I called in and they told me to come back and they would fix it. I made sure and scheduled for when Dr. Hoang was on vacation so I wouldn't get her no matter what! My appointment is today and the only reason I am going back is to have another dentist take a whack at fixing what Dr. Hoang screwed up. $1300 out of pocket because I don't have dental insurance.
I want them to fix this and then I am never, ever going back there! I read some of the other reviews and I have to say that there is nothing that surprises me in any of the reviews except the one where someone had a good experience. I am hoping that the dentist I see today will make up for the horrible experience I had last time. We'll see. I will edit or add a new review later.

This was one fo the worst dental experiences of my life.I went in for a cleaning and check-up.I was not having any tooth pain when I went in.The dentist said I had really good teeth but seven small cavities.I went back and got all my cavities filled and for the next month my teeth were super sensitive and some of the fillings hurt.I waited to see if the pain would go away but instead it got so bad I was taking tylenol three times a day. When I finally went back in the dentist said "oh your fillings are fine."and walked out .I asked the assistant if she was done and she said yes and asked if I wanted pain med.I said no I want my teeth fixed ,they were not hurting before I got the fillings. The dentist came back in and said she would pull one tooth and redo one filling. When she started the filling I could feel her drilling and made her give me more pain med.I told her that the pain med was wearing off on the top where she was going to pull the tooth and she said we would deal with later. She then proceeded to start pulling the tooth without giving me more pain med.I told her I could feel it and she said no you just feel pressure. Finally .I said uh ah that is not just pressure, I can feel it on my gums. She then gave me anoter shot and then tried to charge me one hundred and twenty six dollars.I know she billed my insurance for a surgical extraction when it was a simple extraction and rebilled for my filling that she had already billed for.Basically .she used up all my insurance benefits and I will have to go and pay cash for another dentist to fix her mistakes.I WOULD SAY STAY AS FAR AWAY FROM THIS PLACE AS POSSIBLE.I went in because of a valupac coupon for free lifetime whitening and ended up with a mouth full of pain.

O-okay..
My name is Tain and I'm 14, I'm a foster kid so my dental is provided by the state and this is one of the only places that really accepts it..

On Friday May 22 I had a simple appointment to get a filling. Sounded good to me, at my older dentist I've gotten fillings plenty of times and I was alright, I was never in much pain.

Ahaha.. If only I knew and read these reviews before..
My dentist wasn't even english, I couldn't understand one word she freaking said.. It drove me insane, that and no one would answer my damn questions. I wanted them to explain what in the hell they were going to do, but apparently that was too much for them.

They kept trying to force me down into the chair and tried to shove rubber in my mouth to keep it open. Of course this cr*p really doesn't work on me, I continued to ask questions waiting for a reply.

After about an hour of avoiding having needles forced in my mouth I was deathly terrified and all I did was sit there and cry.
I thought it was going to be alright and I could leave and just go home.. yeah they proved me wrong.
Instead they tried to get me high off of Valium and laughing gas, which never really worked on me after I had told them. I guess my body has a high tolerance to it? Hell if I know but I really didn't like having them shove pills down my throat, they said they were "sleeping pills". Trusty google proved them wrong after saying that it's a "serious dr*g". Well.. If its a serious dr*g WHY give.. wait no not give, FORCE a 14 year old to take TWO.
WHAT. Am I the only one not getting this??

I tried to remain calm.. they had my mom bring me my ipod so I could listen to music and hopefully be calm.
It was the worst hell i've ever been through.. It felt like forever.. And it was. 3 hours for a few fillings.

Pros: None really

Cons: Everything?

.

The whole time I had tears dripping down my face i was crying and trying to tell them to stop. but since the damn lady wasn't english she didnt understand one word I said.
i was kicking my leg, clawing up my stomach trying to remain calm..
i thought it was over..
OH NO IT WAS JUST A BREAK
..what. a break? While you're making me go through so much pain and you're going to take a 15 minute break and not pay attention to me whos literally bawling her eyes out?

someone please explain that to me. Cause it obviously makes NO sense.
they come back and start doing whatever they're doing. By this time the numbing has gone away.. And I told them that I was able to feel everything.. But oh noooo I was just "exaggerating"

After 3 hours of hell having these people i couldn't understand shuffle around in my mouth, I was done. free. FREEEEEE.

nottttt quite.
They can only do one side at a time.. HUH.
I have to go back AGAIN? THIS FRIDAY? I-i swear..

I had my appointment at 11am friday morning.
I got out at 2:30pm
They said I would be able to eat at 6:30pm, 4 hours to make the numbing go away.

.. It is now Saturday night, 10:50pm.
I have to take 5 asprin every hour to make half of the pain go away and i'm still in a hell of wanting to rip my jaw apart.
My mouth has been bleeding worse than my period. I can't even close my mouth without feeling like my jaw is broken. My gums are so sore..
This morning I tried to eat a piece of bread for breakfast and after failure to chew I discovered that the whole piece of bread was dyed with blo*d.

The only time I dont feel pain, the only time I don't want to curl up and die is when I'm sleeping. I've slept probably 16 hours in the past 24 hours. I just want it to fu*king STOP.

not only that but they grinded down my incisors. they're so freaking flat, like they took a straight edge to them.
they also broke off half of my molar. they didn't even tell me. I can feel the big gap in the back of my mouth, I'm not a fool.

By the time I was walking out the door I was ranting, flaming, and complaining. I got such horrible treatment and no answers to whatever I did to them. all I tried to do was play "sweet innocent angel" and get it over with.

When my mom picked me up, I was talking to her asking what time karate was. out of no where one of the dentist assistants started making fun of me.. "OH HAHAHA HOW DO YOU DO KARATE BUT NOT GET A FILLING? HAHA"

I went here because I had a coupon from Val Pak. Now, I wish I'd of checked here first to save myself some trouble. I paid $99 for x-rays, exam, and a cleaning. They have no hygentist as far as I know. The Dental Assistant took x-rays and then proceeded to polish my teeth. Dr. came in and informed me that I need 4 root canals (3 of them to replace filled teeth) and asked if I wanted her to start then. I said no. She then took some power tool and "cleaned" my teeth for 10min max and then sent me out the door. My entire appt. from start of paperwork (new patient file) to pricing consultation, to out the door took 55min. I see now why they had me pay in advance.

I've been to ABC dentisry to many times now for them not to be able to ever get it right. I only go due to my dshs insurance. I finally got my root canal done and it took over 5 hours to do very painful. The doctor was in between patients I had to direct the assistant on what to do like a mouth guard sun glasses to keep the light out of my face. Finally when I was almost done the assistant came back to put water in my mouth and I wasnt numb no more so of course I screamed painful once again. 5 months later my root canal cracked with a abcess forming right next to the cracked root canal. How did this happen? So here I am in pain due to the snow and them not being able to open. They pulled my root canal fast but not a pleasant thing when the assistant sees the extartion oozing and says OH MY GOD over you. Now it's been over a week and my abcess is growing more intense with pain. WHY OUR THESE PEOPLE IN BUSINESS AND WHY HASNT THE STATE INVESTAGATED THEM YET. EVERYBODY WE SHOULD CALL KIRO 7 TO PUT ON THE NEWS.

Pros: Fast Service with emergecies

Cons: Not professional

Me and my chicken of the sea boyfriend Chris went here, and we were pleasantly surprised to find friendly, compassionate and speedy professional dentisistry services. Dr. Morasch and Hannah, (his lovely assistant), are wonderful and I am thankful that we found this place. Especially Chris, who is petrified of the dentist, they pulled out his tooth so fast, he could not believe it. Lets face it, nobody really likes going to the dentist, but with the awesome bedside manner that Dr. M and Hannah have, it takes most of the horror out of it. Plus, I might add, Dr. M has a great sense of humor, and Hannah has super strong hands.... I know this because I almost crushed them with the death grip I had on her while they were yanking my molar out. Thanks Guys!!!

TERRIFYING!! When I lost my job I had to settle for this Dentist as I only had DSHS. I was greeted by a woman who seemed to have developed her personality in a car crash. The first Dentist I saw was very rude and insensitive, she laughed at me when I told her that I had anxiety and needed Nitrous for a procedure.
The next Dentist was an older man who seemed to be a little friendlier. However the atmosphere is extremely chaotic. The Dr.s are overbooked and rushing around. During my last visit one of the assistants became frustrated and QUIT! saying she was done and that she couldn't take it anymore she was going to work for her family's construction company! The Dr's don't give any warning when they are about to pull a tooth, give you a shot, they just go about business in a production line like manner. The ONLY reason I would go here is because its one of the few places that accept DSHS. Patient concerns and care do not seem to be a priority as they pretty much know there is not much choice out there.

Pros: They accept DSHS

Cons: UNFRIENDLY, HORRIBLE BEDSIDE MANNER, INSENSITIVE

.

My husband and I have DSHS so it was hard to find a dentist who would accept it, And I am terrified of the dentist, so I called 1-800 dentist, they reccommended this office as caring, loving, and works well with coward patients. So I thought it would be perfect. As soon as we walked in it was horrible, dirty, the receptionist was rude, and when they called us back they could barely speak english. The nurse told me oh you have some bad teeth we need to pull, I said okay, and what seemed like 5 seconds later the doctor came in layed me down and without any warning or notice starting shoving needles in my mouth, and ripping my teeth out!!! It was the most terrifying painful experience of my life, it only furtherd my fear of the dentist. My husband had the same experience they shoved needles in his mouth no warning and filled five cavities in 30 min, so you know it was a horrible job!!! I am in so much pain I am hoping I dont have to go into the ER tonight. HORRIBLE PLACE NEVER GO THERE!!!!!!!!!!!!

Pros: fast and ample parking due to the fact there patients never come back!!

Cons: horrible, rude, painful, careless, unsanitary!

I had my wisdom teeth pulled and had to go to a doctor a week later because they ripped the muscles in my jaw. My teeth healed but do to the fact they opened my mouth so wide I needed medical attention because I could not open my mouth 9 days later!!! It was a nightmare. Please, never go.

--I hate to admit it but I worked there and the things I saw... I do know that the WA State D.S.H.S should look into them for fraud and sanitation violations. They will do a panoramic x-ray on a six yr old. Why? There is no logical answer except money! I have Dr Hoang do fillings on a 3 yr old while he SCREAMED because she hadn't used any anesthesia. She uses the language barrier to her advantage. A large portion of the patient base is Spanish speaking so they sometimes don't even have a grasp of the situation and she'll leave it that way.

Pros: They accept DSHS and not many dental places do

Cons: Many...All the other reviews are true

For starters I must begin by saying I enjoy having my teeth cleaned. It has always been an event I looked forward to, but my experience at the ABC Dentistry office in Des Moines, Wa shattered that. The receptionist was impatient and rude. The little woman who called my name could barely speak English, I repeatedly asked her to repeat her self and at one point she laughed at me for not understanding her. She never explained what she was doing or why. Call me crazy but I like to know what people are doing to my body. After a quick polish I inquired why she was not going to scrap my teeth, she replied with "me no hygenist, me assistant, me polish only." I later learned from a friend in the dental business if a person comes to a dentist office with dental assistants and dentists--walk out immediately. Dentists are not as well trained as hygenists in the cleaning process, they are more trained and specialized in pathologies.
The situation got worse once Dr.Hoang arrived she was grabby, again did not tell me anything she was doing, but worse of all she applied a liquid anesthetic to my gums, without telling me about it first, this shocked me, I had to sit up scrabbling for the suction as the little assistant with minimal english prioritized grabbing gloves, rather than handing me the suction device so I could control my airway!! I expectorated on the floor and did not feel remorse as I was chocking. Lovely...
All in all: rude, unprofessional, and mistreated. Would not recommend this place to any one!!

I had a horrible experience as soon as I walked in the door! The office is dirty and the receptionists dont guide you in what to do. It was so bad that one of the hygenists told me I looked pregnant when I was carrying my 6 week old infant in my arms...I was there to get my teeth cleaned, not to have my physique critiqued! I hadnt been to the dentist in two years, so I thought my teeth would have been pretty dirty, but the dentist said everything looked great and spent two minutes looking at my teeth. Really the only thing they did was polish them. I walked out of there feeling extremely mad and I just wanted to cry. I wouldnt even recommend this place to my dog!

I have never been treated so badly in my life, i was discriminated against because of my illness and because i have dshs.
Vicki was rude and i was in pain after she repeatedly shoved the x-ray equipment in my mouth and that was dirty.
She also told me i am wasting my life. The doctor i had said 2 words to me and did my extraction between other patient even though i had an appointment.
the place is dirty and nasty and the reception is rude as well.

I had a horrible experience with Dr. Hoang. She was rude and unfriendly with me and very unprofessional with her assistant. Dr. Hoang was grabing tools from Vicki and almost yelling at her. Her assistant, Vicki, was very friendly and sweet, she calmed me down and made me feel comfortable, until the dentist came in. I feel sorry for Vicki and anyone else who comes in contact with Dr. Hoang.
