For an establishment that had a partial paragraph on their home page (that left you hanging) of thoughts from the owners addressing the concern over the economy and the worries that come along with it they sure don't pass that along in their prices. In place of that they offer a getaway from your daily pocket money worries by having you line theirs instead! While you won't even find your most prominent and well respected jazz clubs in Seattle charging some of the prices found over here you might be fooled into thinking you are sitting in a magnificent structure listening to the who's who of the music world with prices sometimes soaring to $32 per person for the entertainment only! With a string of followers oozing praise and ready to plunge off the cliff giving 5 star reviews (quite curiously nothing in-between) this should be to the rest of us enough of a red flag! Don't drink the kool-aid! Snap out of it! You are really sitting in a building located in the middle of a gated retirement community run by an uptight jazz lover/wanna be singer living out his dream by featuring himself on the bill from time to time, with you as a couple quite possibly sharing a table with two other people you don't know from Adam (not to be missed is the reservation policy)! While hiding behind a thin facade of fancy words and promises of great music great food and great service the consumer will soon find that the high price is just too high to pay. Check out what's going on with the local jazz scene in the city and surrounding areas by visiting the online Earshot Jazz Calendar, Seattle Jazz or Jazzoids for excellent choices sure to surprise and delight your pocketbook, ears and pallet, before handing over a hundred bucks or more for you and your date to have a mediocre evening all held in an out of the way location in the midst of a retirement community housing development.

can't say enough good things about it. let yourself be pampered by hosts who really make you feel like long-time friends and hear musicians at their best in a sonically and visually superb and intimate venue. sure, it's a rare treat unless you've deeper pockets than I, but no more so than any other dinner/music night out with better food, service, and sound. well worth every penny and you will, as Craig promises, feel more relaxed and better about yourself and others when you leave. it's totally unique- GO; and bring friends.

Pros: brilliant concept, performers, food, owners

Cons: quirky location, but more a secret than a drawback

Go once and you'll go back!

Craig and Laura create a wonderful warm atmosphere, serve good food at fair prices, and know music. They're the antitheses of jazz club managers and that's a true compliment!

Pros: Intimate space for music lovers who love to listen

Cons: Not exactly on the well-beaten trail!

This is a wonderful place in an unlikely location for world class music and food. Craig and Laura Baker are always there making sure that everything is just right. Seems that there are regulars who show up time and again, giving it a family living room feel with all the details in perfect order. Will definitely be coming back!

Pros: great music, great food, great service

The Bakers call it "the living room" and they've made it so comfortable its really like having live music & a full bar in your own living room.
Good food, good service, good wine and the music is wonderful. Such a unique, special experience. I've been to several performances and look forward to more.

Pros: Good food, good wine list & jazz is their specialty

Cons: menu is limited

Spent a Friday night there with hubby for dinner and a Show. Despite the $25.00 cover show was great, dinner very good, staff was friendly. Only downside, don't sit up close, very noisy, and cover could be down to $15 or $ 20. Will we go again, yes, maybe several times a year. Its about 60 miles from home, but worth the trip for the serene atmosphere. Check it out for yourself.

I've been here several times, and each time I come away refreshed and renewed. But as good as this is, I keep wondering why this place is one of the best kept secrets on the east side.

The food is great. The wine list ranges from affordable to splurging. The music... ohhhh... the music. If you're really into jazz, you might know several of the musicians who play here regularly. But don't let name recognition slow you down because anyone who plays here belongs on the A list, even if you've never heard of them.

Atmosphere, atmosphere, atmosphere. It's like having a house concert., but you don't have to prep for it. No bad seats. It's intimate. Great sound.

Check it out... Be pleasantly surprised. I was.

My husband and I recently attended a show at Bake's Place. It was one of the most memorable evenings that we've had in a long time. The band we saw was very good, and we loved being able to sit close to the stage and to listen in a room with such great acoustics. Our dinner was delicious, and the wait staff couldn't have been sweeter. We liked it that the owner was so friendly and that even though it was really busy, he stopped at our table and took the time to introduce himself. We're so happy that we found Bake's Place and we look forward to a return visit.

This place is a little deep out in Issaquah, but well worth it for a night out with friends or a date. A great view and very intimate dining experience to listen to some great live Jazz music. We saw someone from California that I'm spacing on, but overall an amazing place to see and hear live music in Seattle!

The moto of this place is "Enter a stranger, leave as a friend" could not be farther from the truth. We were attending a birthday party for a family member and the owner was terrible and uptight. We had our kids with us and they were acting wonderfully and wanted to dance to the music until the owner decided that kids should not be able to dance and told them that they had to sit in their chair. He did not even have the courage to talk to us THE PARENTS. The food was average and the wine list was second rate. We will not be returning.

This is the best place on the eastside to listen to great jazz music and have dinner. The quaint atmosphere is just that! quaint and wonderful. The food is prepared like a 5 star restaurant.
