Love the salmon with spinach for Happy Hour. HOWEVER, buyer be ware when you order wine off of the HAPPY HOUR menu and the waitress gives you a choice of white wine - ONE is NOT on the Happy Hour menu and one is!!! If you pick the one

I have gone to this place a few times. I enjoy their breakfast a lot, when they can remember that you actually ordered breakfast. But the last time I went I had THE WORST experience. Apparently the bar tender thought that since my friend and I were there for happy hour we weren't as important as other customers. We were ignored for about 15 mins, although we were sitting at the bar directly in front of the bartender and it was not busy at all. Then after repeating my drink order twice I watched as the bartender welcomed 3 new people, and make 6 more drinks. After complaining she finally handed me my wine. Long story short the Manager comped our meal but honestly, with how rude the bartender was, it wasn't even worth it. I won't be going back any time soon.

This is one bright spot on the western shore of Lake Washington. When out-of-towners come to Seattle this is one of the places we take them. We've never been dissapointed.

This restaurant was just as good as its counterparts. I love how these places are close to the water, and the food is always very good and tasty. Service is always kind and fast. Love it.

This is a fun, casual spot. Bonus points for the fireplace, which is so great to sit by in the winter. Farther back, there are big booths that are pretty romantic with a nice view of the lake.. outdoor deck rocks in the summer, the music is rad (reggae mixes, Dave Matthews, some jazzy stuff etc.) and the servers are very friendly. The cocktails are good. Everything I've ever ordered here has been yummy; and they have a FREE pool table! We love it here :)

I've been coming to Bluwater for the past 3 or so years for business and some late-night cocktails. Don't miss the dowtown/lake location either, it is a lot of fun. Leschi has some of the best service I have had. The brunette day bartender is great and late night there is a little guy behind the bar that seems to run the place. He waited on us for our last visit and we had a great time. The food is good and not too much $$. Try happy hour clams! Worth a visit for sure. A Seattle icon.

We have a bicycling group that varies between 6 and 10 riders. We usually have lunch in the middle of a ride. Most places are very accomodating and thus we frequent them. However, The Bluewater at Leschi is to be avoided. They refuse to divide the checks, mostly in groups of two, will not help us devide the check (like maybe a calculator would help), the food is mediocre and overpriced for that type of lunch. My wife was sick from the food she had before we could finish the ride. On a plus side, the waitress was very nice and tried to do what she could in spite of the manager. Refusing to devide the check only penalizes the waitress and makes her task harder. We have eaten numerous times at the Bluewater on lake Union where their service and food is excellent.

We had breakfast at Bluewater Leschi Cafe Sunday. Nice location with a good view. I ordered The Prime Sirloin and Eggs. I confirmed with the server that the menu meant USDA Prime. The steak arrived and I am extremely skeptical of the "Prime" designation as described on the menu. At best the steak was average without the marbling or flavor of USDA Prime. I inquired after the meal and the server said she would check with the Chef. When she returned, I inquired again. I was told the chef relayed that they had an agreement with their meat purveyor and were to get Prime. Was the meat packaging labeled or branded? Guess not. Maybe time for a new meat source or re print the menu. Otherwise, go for the view and average food.

Thank you, Vicky ~~ !!
I rang this afternoon due to concern about recently posted
poor ratings on this Web site,
though in the past have experienced no disappointment at all.
Invited two guests whom I'd never met who were here visiting
from South Africa, via my friend in Wales, GB.
Long story short, wonderful attention and service, from drinks by the
fireplace in deep leather chairs, to dinner by the Lake and lingering
after . . .
Wonderful service by Beth, like visiting a friend's home really.
Don't know what others have been wingeing about (British word for
whining), but our evening was delightful from the drinks to the
dessert, which was an oversized hunk of succulent carrot cake!
Steaks cooked to perfection . .. wine lovely, mellow and proffered
to perfection.
The BluWater indeed pleases the palate, personal needs, and all
sensibilities at fair value for the expenditure.
Don't overlook this value!

I hate crowded bars. I don't show up until late night and that's why I love Bluwater. It's a nice quite bar with above average food and reasonable prices considering the menu. I don't get off work until midnight and it's nice to be able to go somewhere that serves food until 1am every day of the year. Plus, if I want a night cap they don't call last call at 1:15 like a lot of other bars, I can roll in after a long day and still get a cocktail at 1:50 in the morning, as long as I finish it by 2.
The food is good, the drinks are good and I love the people. The owners are cool. I love these guys. They really take care of their staff unlike so many big corporate places.
It?s a big family to me, with the same drama that any family has and maybe that?s why I enjoy the soap opera that is Bluwater. Enjoy and have fun :)

Pros: Good Food, Decent Prices, Food till 1 and Booze till 2 for us late nighters

Cons: Menu kinda boring. Specials don't chage often enough.

I live in the madison park area, and after a thousand meals at the same restaurants we were excited when the Bluwater opened in leschi a few years ago. However, after many trips to this place, my last being just two days ago- i can only come to one conclusion. This place is too much in the summer. It seems as if people come from all over and basically overwhelm what i like to think of as one of my little neighborhood restaurants. The problem i see here is that Bluwater embraces it, and the great place i love in December becomes a slap-dash, in-and-out, mad house. The servers often seem frazzled, the food comes out of the kitchen perfect on one plate, average on another, and poor on the third. They pack their patio so full of tables is impossible to enjoy your meal, unless you like to feel like your at the county fair, and it seems the servers are often just trying to keep up- other than actually give SERVICE.
However, and this is a big however- this place is great in the winter. The massive crowds of young drinkers and boaters go back into hiding. The "college students" one of the previous reveiwers mentions go back to college, and the place goes back to what i think of as normal- and nice. I will happily go back to sit by the fire place and have a nice bottle of wine and my favorite stuffed pork chop. In October.

Seriously. BluWater Leschi is a disaster. Read the real reviews and it's clear. I'm curious though - how does the CitySearch rating show 5 stars when most of the ratings are 1 or 2? And does anyone believe johnnyfitz is anything but a plant? Three reviews, all for BluWater, all five stars. No other reviews at all. Gosh I'm fooled. Check out the other 5 star reviews - the user only has one or two reviews and they're for BluWater. PLANTS people. Don't be fooled. Do yourself and your wallet a big favor and steer clear of BluWater until the management and ownership changes. Until then you're wasting your time and money.

Pros: great location, the bottled beer is real, they employ some nice college kids

Cons: everything not mentioned in Pros

I agree with Sirfrancis and truseagirl - They must have new owners because a few years ago around summertime this place was better! I sat at the bar hoping I would get faster service however that was not the case so I had to move to a table in the restaurant section. The bartenders were two busy talking amongst themselves to even notice I was sitting there. Considering the place was not even busy I would of expected faster service than that. I ordered a chicken pasta dish but it was more like a 'soup' and not tasty at all - not what I had expected! The place was better when it was the Leschi Cafe! What a change! I would not recommend this restaurant at all unless you like poor customer service, bad food and drinks! Don't be fooled by the reviews of this restaurant from the Seattle Times and PI if you note that the last time the restaurant was reviewed was 3 years ago or so!

As a resident of the leschi neighborhood I am always a strong advocate for our local restaurants. I have frequented the Blue Water Bistro for some time (over 2 years) and have steadily seen it's decline in quality of food, level of service and overall cleanliness.
Food: We ordered Fish Tacos and the Seafood Louie For an entree that is 17.00+ I would expect clean preparation, fresh seafood and some semblance of flavor. What we received was a meal you would usually expect at Denny's. Seriously. The food was slopped together on the plate, items spilling over each other and there was water all over each plate...enough to where some items were floating. The fish that came with the tacos looked more like cooked snake from the tv show "Man vs Wild" than grilled fish, and the seafood with "Seafood Louie" was almost non existent..barely enough to fill 2 bites.

Service: While jovial our server seemed more like a robot droid than a human being. I am so tired of the corporate speak that waitstaff nowadays has to utter. Our drinks took forever and our server was always quick to leave the table. Drop the drinks and get the heck out of there. Bring the plates and run away. More than anything we felt as though we were an inconvenience.

Cleanliness: Most people don't look down when they're in a restaurant..but they should. If this is any indication of how they clean the the restaurant they should be shut down. I have never seen carpet so disgustingly awful. Take a look the next time you go in...the carpet is black from traffic. When I saw this it nearly turned my stomach. For restaurant management to overlook something this horrendous is inexcuseable. Clean your restaurant.

Summary: Overpriced and filthy. Beyond disappointing.

This restaurant in Leschi has been going strong for about two years now, and I just get more impressed with it as time goes by. The bartenders are funny and friendly, the food is great, and the servers in the dining room are not only knowledgable about the menu and wine list, but they are knockouts (I realize this isn't always a selling point, but it cant hurt). We live about six blocks away, and love that they stay open and serve a full dinner menu until 1am yet also are up early to feed us for Saturday and Sunday brunch. Its entrees are about half the price of Daniels Broiler (which is next door), and the food is just as good, and the atmosphere is even better. Love this place, keep it up guys!

I wrote a review last summer expressing how great BluWater is. Now, I'm singing a different tune. Over the past month, we've had dinner at Leschi location twice, and dinner at LkUnion location once. All three meals were horrible. Only thing we could stomach were the semistrong drinks. We kept going back hoping that the staff were having an 'off' night, but seems the quality at both locations is slipping quickly. Our friends have had same experiences. Only items worth eating are Mac&Cheese w/crab (they're skimping on crab too), and tollhouse cookie. DO NOT try mahi tacos, fish&chips, or burger. Our usual favs are now drab, flavorless, and just thrown on the plate. SO NOT WORTH THE COST

This place is a nice place for brunch or a meal outside on a warm summer's evening. Service is consistently excellent, though. There's nothing else really around Leschi, so it's a great location. The food, however, is a bit too complicated and overpriced. The menu is pretty small, too. Seems like a real pick-up joint around the bar too.

My girlfriend and I stopped in at this leschi restaurant last week for a quick drink. We sat at the outside bar for a beer, and one lead to another. Our bartender was great, funny and friendly, and we ended up staying for dinner. I had the New York steak and she had the salmon, everything was perfect! Just as good as the Met, but with better service and at half the price. We ended staying for a couple of hours, everyone was so nice, I couldn't have asked for anything more. Would have liked to stay for just one more beer, but we ran out of time. I'll be back!

The bluwater in Leschi is a much needed addition to our neigborhood. Very fairly priced (look at the prices compared to Daniels..Yikes!), with friendly, knowledgeable servers, great food, and a beautiful view. The bar has both indoor and outdoor seating, when outside I feel like I'm at a resort pool swim-up bar! A huge deck, with patio heaters... I just can't say enough. I've lived in Leschi for 15 years and was so bored with our choices. Thank you Bluwater, for spicing things up a little!

another great place by those bluwater bistro folks! about time someone woke up the leschi neighborhood. great eats, drinks, fun clientele and and an even more fun staff with some of the best bartenders around. Food is great, portions are huge, and its cheap to boot. can't wait to go back, sit at that outside bar, and watch the next mariners game on that big flat screen tv. its like home but with no wife and better food!

Upon moving to Leschi three years ago, my only regret was that there were not more restaurants in the area. When Bluwater Leschi opened, I was excited to have another option. They've now been open over a year, and I love it! They've done a wonderful renovation of what used to be the Leschi Cafe. The interior is beautiful, , the view perfect, and the food and service really can't be beat. To top it off, prices are cheap! Most who work there seem to have been there from day one, and not only remember my name, but also what I like and drink, and even new specials they think I might enjoy. The bar has outdoor seating that is heated year-round, and a great patio perfect for eating and in the summer. Food is sooo good, and the portions are HUGE. Great Place!

Great neighborhood bar for locals and people who live in the area. Food is good and the service is great. You can have a conversation or watch a game on the one of the plasma tv's. Ethan, Alexia, and Dave are great bartenders and will also make you smile. The rest of the staff is friendly and always have a smile. One of the nice secrets in town.

My 1st visit was a Sun afternoon after cycling. We enjoyed mojitos at the bar. While a bit pricey, they were very good and the bartenders were nice. When we asked about the menu, they raved about the spagetti-&-meatballs...which lit a flame in my stomach. I just returned from my 2nd visit...2 months later, and had the spagetti. YUM YUM! WOW. Sat eve, arrived at 7, seated immediatelyin a window booth, great service. Restaurant floors and the bathroom was a bit untidy. Ambience is awesome near the fireplace at night or open-air bar by day.

Ambience is awesome near the fireplace at night or open-air bar by day.

Pros: BEST MEATBALLS EVER, Open air bar, Fireplace

.

We requested outdoor seating and were led to our table right next to the bussing station. At first it didn't seem so bad until they started throwing the plates in the bins. It was so loud it made our ears hurt. There were MANY other tables available so we asked to be moved. They appeared to be very put out at this request. As soon as we were re-seated, they placed someone else at this bad table.
