I'm surprised to see negative comments. Joe did a rebuild for me over a year ago. I know vintage parts aren't always easy to find so you don't rush a vintage job. They called when they needed authorization to order parts and when it was done. It's still running great!

Pros: Great work

I just purchased a used Vespa and it was in need of a tune-up/ to get checked out for work needed (I didn?t have the time nor space to work on it myself). Upon contacting them they were very friendly on the phone and explained they were going through a transition so they couldn?t make an appt for 5 wks, but if I was willing to drop off my scooter and leave it they could try to get to it sooner (this was fine because I was going out of town for a couple wks). I made the appt & I was told it wouldn?t take more than an hr of actual work since my scooter was already running fine and it just needed a tune up and to get checked out (nothing major). I returned to town and contacted them to check on the status, no response. After calling several times over 5 days, leaving msgs with no response, I finally reached someone on the phone. They explained they were backed up and they hadn?t started yet but they would have it done by the date I had made an appt (a week away). They're nice about it so I gave them the benefit of the doubt. Sat arrived (my appt) and I did not receive any contact from them. I had to wait until Tues to call them (when their office was open). Tues, I called them, no answer, left msg. No call back. This went on for another 2 wks! After getting no response and having had my bike for over 7 weeks I decided to call them to let them know I would be picking up my bike (on a certain day/time at the end of the week). When I went to the store they said they were 'just working on it'. They asked me to come back in an hour. I told them to forget it but they said it was already apart. I came back an hr later and it looked as though they had thrown it together. I went to pay for the work and they double-charged me what they had quoted me saying it needed some 'extra cleaning'. I rode it home but as soon as I tried to restart it didn?t work (idle was set too low and the exhaust was sputtering oil). It hasn?t been working since. Stay away- bad business!

Cons: Lack of response, poor quality work results, dishonest pricing

I gave them my Vespa to work on last year after hearing good things about their mechanic. I was initially told it would be a few weeks and that was fine by me. About once a week, I got an email from their very nice counter lady telling me that they would be "starting to work on my scooter next week". At first I was understanding but then I started to get frustrated. I have had this scooter since 1995, and I restored it myself a few years ago. I am not a mechanically inclined woman, and I was able to order the parts and do most of the work without any assistance other than a Haynes manual. However I just don't have time on my hands like I did over a decade ago, as I work a lot of hours and have more responsibilty in my life now. I just wanted to simply give my scooter to someone and get it back running in tip top shape!

I don't expect magic here, I know it can take time, but after I entered my third month of waiting and they still hadn't started working on the engine yet (they fixed a couple small, mostly cosmetic problems first) I decided to post a question about the situation to a scooter email list I am on. I just wanted to know if it was normal to take this long or if I was being given a run-around.

I didn't mention any names in my post, but the mechanic apparently guessed it was me by the situation and attacked me personally on the list. He refused to finish the work! The great majority of the people who responded to the thread told me that I was being given poor service and that they should have at least started work on the engine after a couple months.

When I got home and looked at the "work" they did, they used a partially rusted used part that I had to replace myself (the GAS tank of all things!) and charged me a new part price!

Very unhappy customer. Avoid this place, don't let them touch your scooter! Their mechanic may know his way around a two stroke engine, but he obviously needs to learn a few things about customer service.

Pros: Very knowledgable staff, friendly counter people, nice clothes

Cons: unfriendly, lazy garage people with no concept of customer care
