Stay far, far away from these people. They will trick you if you give them the benefit of the doubt, and once they sink their hooks into you, they will not let you or your car go!

I had my 2002 Mazda 626 (worth about $3,000) towed to Kings this week. I was told over the phone that there was something seriously wrong with the automatic transmission (Duh, thats why it was towed maybe?), and that it would either be an $1,800 repair or a $3,100 repair. I told the manager, Mark, that I needed to know which it would be before I could authorize anything.

DONT DO THIS! Kings will take that as verbal authorization to remove your transmission. It doesnt make ANY difference what you do after thatthey WILL charge you for several hours of work even if you decide the car is totaled and junk it.

Bear in mind that their website says: When you come in, youll receive a free estimate, diagnostic testing and road testing to evaluate your vehicle and determine the necessary repairs.

So guess what happened? Yep, coincidentally, it was the $3,100 jobnot worth doing. Kings CLAIMS I got the free determination of the necessary repairs, but still demanded over $500 for unspecified extra work. Had I been told that if they removed the transmission I would be charged, I may have authorized charges, but Kings completely hid the ball and deprived me of that choice. I also learned later that the transmissions in Mazda 626s are frequently complete replacements, and Kings knew it. How do I know this? Its right on their website!

Heres the rich part: Kings wont even let you walk away and fight it out with you in court! What they do is threaten to have your car put into city impound if you dont pay in full within 3 days. Mark, the Manager, just laughed his butt off when he explained how he does this: They have it towed to one of the impound locations, and will REFUSE to tell you which one! By the time you figure it out and bail your car out, you have several hundred dollars MORE in fees and charges to deal with, and the CITY will sue you even of the car is worth nothing.

I initially offered Kings a compromise, and when they counteroffered, I accepted and agreed to pay them $183. Then Mark changed his mind and demanded payment in full before he would release the totaled car to MY salvage hauler.

These people are dishonest and unwilling to compromise. Expect to be charged at least $500 just to get a real estimate. If our communications had been in writing, I would have sued Kings. But they know its a He Said/She Said when its verbal, and so they use that to run up a bill and hold your vehicle hostage.

Oh, here's another of their tricks: If you request something in writing be sent via email, they will tell you their scanner is broken and they can't. Nor do they have an email address you can use to contact them. NOR will they respond to messages sent via their "Contact Us" tab.

The differential rebuild on my 99 Dodge Durango was never performed properly despite 3 separate opportunities to correct the issues and their denying the problems and/or responsibility. I have less than 500 miles on this rebuild and it needs to be rebuilt again elsewhere.

I came to King's with a part out of a Mercedes valve body I broke. The factory quoted over $1000 to replace it, so I spent about a month trying to find an alternative source. Today I was referred to King's Transmission, and am glad I went

I brought my car there. They asked me to sign the work order or invoice before they wrote on it. I said that doesn't sound right to me. Ken Armstrong said don't worry we have been in business a long time. We are trustworthy. I believed

It appears King's purges negative reviews (and I have read many) while they stack in some dubious "reviews" that seem pretty transparent.

My experience was one of the most unpleasant experiences I've had with any business anywhere.

When precious Mitsubishi evo started having a transmission problem I didn't know who to call. I had heard about King's from a friend. So I called and talked to Kenny. I made arrangements to drop it off the same day. He was very friendly,

After spending thousands of dollars there, the tranmission was still not smooth. I went back within a month, but they don't honor their work and warranties. Mark just blame other issues in the car. I took it to another tranmission shop

I needed a new transmission for my 68 Camaro show car. I've rebuilt just about everything on the car to show quality, but I also drive the car. I needed a new drag strip quality transmission and also capable of short freeway driving. I

A few months ago I had my truck in to the Ford dealership for a recall repair. When they called me to say it was ready, they informed me that my transmission fluid was contaminated (scary word, right?) and I should have the transmission

I have a 2002 Land Rover. I heard a loud noise in the transmission like a humming noise. So I pulled over and looked up transmission shops and call a couple of them. I just didn't feel right with the other transmission shop they sounded very sleazy on the phone. With being a women I am very scared about being taken advantage of. When I called Kings I talked to Ken told him what had happen he said he would get a tow truck on its way to pick me and the car up. I got to the shop very worried about my car and the cost. Ken had it put up on the rack within a half hour and they told me what was wrong. I asked the scary question how much to fix it. Ken told me the price and felt that was more than fair. Ken said it will be a couple of days to get it finished as he needed to order the parts. It was done in two days and I am very happy. Thank you Ken and all the guys at Kings Transmission. I will bring by the cookies as promised
