I haven??t gone to this place for a year. I gave them three chances, spaced out over several months and each experience was worse than the last.

Here??s what happened that last time I went:
I went in the late afternoon and there were only two other customers there when I arrived. For being their least busy time of day, the speed of service was atrocious. It took twenty minutes to take my order and then another ten to bring my drink.

The salad arrived immediately after the drink and it was decent.

The meal arrived about 15 minutes later. It looked nice enough. Then I took a bite. The pasta was dry, and the meat sauce was inedible (due to an odd sweet perfume taste.) It was just gross. I told the server I didn't like it at all and he didn't offer any help, not even a "can I get you something else, instead." I had him take it away. When he finally came back, I was still starving, so I decided to not get anymore from the expensive dinner menu and opted for desert. Chocolate cake.

It turned out to be a horrible decision.

It was dense, dry and not nearly the "chocoholic's dream" they had described in the menu. It was more a "chocolate lover's nightmare." A good chocolate cake should be light, fluffy, rich and flavorful. Or it should be fudgelike and chocolate filled. Or maybe even dense and creamy and so rich you can barely take it, like a flourless chocolate cake. This cake was none of those. I choked down a few bites, hoping it would get better. It didn't.

I stopped eating it.

After patiently waiting to pay my $30/person bill for almost ten minutes, I said "screw it" and went up to the podium to pay.

I was appalled at how low guest satisfaction is on their list of priorities. Every time I??ve gone here, I??ve faced slow service and mediocre, overcooked, or just plain bad food.

If you have a lot of time and money to kill and you only want an alcoholic beverage or a salad, I'd recommend this place. Otherwise, stay away! Please. Go to Swilly??s or anywhere else instead. Even Denny's scores higher on my list of restaurants to frequent. That's saying something.

Fireside tries imitate "The Keg" restaurants, however they fall short. Not the best food for the price. The staff was friendly, it didn't make up for the food.
