It sounds to me like the last reviewer is talking about the Sweet Pea's in Sellwood because the Sweet Pea's in Ridgefield (no affiliation) doesn't have WOMENs clothing, the Bathroom is in FULL VIEW and they have a HUGE selection of boys clothing, girls clothing and TOYS! Get it straight before you write and review. I love this place and know their policies well because you have to sign a new policy sheet EVERY TIME YOU CONSIGN with them! DO YOU READ POLICIES????? and by the way, they don't take booster seats!
Get a grip and review the right store next time.

Pros: ALL YOU NEED IN A CHILDREN'S STORE AND MORE

Cons: IDIOT REVIEWERS AND IDIOTS CUSTOMERS WHO DON'T READ POLICIES

I totally agree with the review below that takes Sweet Pea's to task for their purchasing policies and customer service (and isn't it a little suspicious that the account name of the person who took excception is "ilovesweetpeas"?). I consigned a big batch of beautiful clothing, toys and baby gear. When they didn't give me a consignment receipt or anything that explained their policies, I was a little concerned and surprised. I was right to take that as a bad sign. I went back about two months later and they said they couldn't access my consignment account because it was too new. The owner called me a few days later and said that everything had sold except one booster seat and that my total credit was $19. There is NO WAY that the consignment value of what I took in was only $19 but since I don't have a receipt, there isn't much I can do about it. Actually, the only constructive thing I can do about it is to warn other people to NOT consign their stuff there and even to not shop there (since you would be supporting a business that is cheating people--whether because of bad ethics or disorganization, I don't know). I can however highly recommend Piccolina on SE Clinton. They are so friendly, well-organized and they give 40% store credit for the goods they accept.

Pros: Parking, square footage of store; organization of goods

Cons: Suspicious consignment tactics, poor selection of boy clothes, out of date women's clothes, no bathroom on site.

I have been shopping at Sweet Pea's for over a year now and have never had any problems. The last review is totally out of control! Incompetent people working there? The employees are the owner who is a mom of 3 kids, her oldest son and her dad. Her dad works there sometimes and her son is there after school. I have never had any bad experiences with any of them. They all seem to know exactly what is in the store and can find things you are looking for and are extremely friendly and helpful. This place is kid friendly and always giving you top dollar on your goods. They have the best customer service because they are mom owned and operated and work to make sure you are happy with your purchases and your shopping. The owner goes out of her way to make sure the kids are happy as you shop and that if you don't find what you want she will find it for you! The last review sounds like a psycho crazy person and most likely didn't have a clue what the policies were when she dropped her stuff off and now wants to shoot her mouth off because of it. Go see for yourself, you won't be disappointed! I send all my family and friends to shop there and they have the biggest selection of toys around that are Melissa and Doug toys and are incredible!

Pros: Huge selection of toys and clothing. Small store but well maintained.

I had initially brought items in to Sweet Peas for consignment. These items included a flower girl dress in perfect condition, and items brand new with tags. The owner priced the dress at $25. She informed me that once the items sold, I would have the option of getting cash, or store credit. As time went on, she kept sending emails about store sales. I didn't want my items "lowballed," so I went in twice to retrieve them. The man working didn't know how to get me my items, and told me to come back. So, finally, the owner was in today. She informed me that she doesn't give cash on consigned items, and that I had a whopping $2 store credit for my items! She said that they had either sold, or were donated to charity! Can you believe that?!? First, she had incompetent people working there, then she rips me off!

I think that we need more small businesses like this around. It is sustainable and keeps the business local. Plus, does Wal-Mart let you trade in your nice used things? Sweet Peas does!
