Harlequin Productions works hard to showcase not only local talent but a wide variety of works. Olympia is lucky to have a world-class theater in its own downtown.

Harlequin Productions is a very important part of the Thurston County community and I am thrilled to attend each performance. It is always a very special experience - acting, sets, costuming, as well as customer service. Amazing to have such an impressive program in a community of this size. Hooray for Harlequin!

I was one of a handful that helped to build up Harlequin productions from the very start. Much of what I have to say about them can easily be inturpeted as "sour grapes" from a disgruntled actor but I incourage you to look closer and you may realize as I did that at the foundation of the organization are two very small and petty people that have forgotten their roots in theatre, the people and community that supported them from their very start and the very reason why the "life" has gone out of their productions.
Harlequin Productions has alienated it's core group of supporters from actor's to tech, be it the woman who built their conscessions area from nothing to the guy that donated most of his sound supplies for the betterment of their productions or the community that was begged for support money only to see the organization turn around and outright snub them by attempting to go equity (and thereby send all that community money straight out of town).
Let's not forget under which auspices the State Theatre was purchased by them either. Prior to recieving the large loan from the community that was needed to purchase the State Theatre Building there was a much loved "dollar movie" group inhabiting the space. Harlequin promised to keep the unique group intact after purchase, a promise they never kept nor ever intended to, a promise that was made to an unsuspecting and supportive community.
I urge everyone to consider the lack of heart and soul where this group is concerned and please do not grace them with your support or patronage.
