Don't let this small deli deceive you on the big tastes it can deliver. Cafe Columbia makes some of the best homemade soups I've ever had outside of my mother's cooking. Their chicken noodle soup has a rich, deep broth with tender chunks of chicken, both dark and light meat. The noodle is also really interesting because it's not your stereotypical chicken noodle soup noodle. But it blends well with the abundant veggies, chicken, and can't-get-enough broth. Their cream soups are also delightful. They serve cream of broccoli, cream of cauliflower, and cream of mushroom on different days, but everything in the soup tastes so fresh. And they balance creaminess and the taste of the featured ingredient so well.

Their sandwiches are also made when ordered, and just with the first bite, you can tell they use the freshest ingredients. Their tuna salad and chicken salad for sandwiches are made fresh every day, and you can tell because the meat isn't soggy. And their different salads served with a side of homemade dressing are always fresh with crisp lettuce, sweet juicy tomatoes, and other colorful veggies.

Their breakfast sandwiches are some of my favorites, made fresh when ordered. They offer bacon, ham, or sausage on English muffin, croissant, or bagel - all with your choice of egg and cheese. And the croissants and bagels are delivered fresh every morning from local bakeries.

They also have many assortments of pastries and muffins in the morning, along with yummy little sides like homemade deviled eggs.

If I'm ever in downtown Seattle, I always make it a point to make a stop at Cafe Columbia because I know I can get great quality food for cheap.
